  • Argus pulsejet run at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 6, 2021. This is the propulsion for the German V-1 flying bomb from WWII. The engine tube is original. Compressed air is used to provide airflow at the start. Later in the video is the museum's V-1 that was found in it's underground storage in Germany.
Unfortunately, the video can't capture the vibration you feel in your chest when this beast runs.
You can visit the museum's site at militaryaviationmuseum.org

Very impressive. Congratulations on getting it started. What a sinister sound it makes. Is there any write-up on its restoration?

Not that I've seen. A docent told me that the intake shutters are made by a gentleman in Germany while the combustion chamber is original. The intake shutters apparently don't last long.

@@pmg757 "The intake shutters apparently don't last long" - They didn't need to! Very cool to see one actually running.
