i'm basically a casual player. I use mons i like, but, i also try my best to keep my team balanced with the mons i like and i know type matchups pretty well too.
I'm a combination of a few, i care for stats and types as well as good natures and movesets,i use pokemon i like, i try to use new pokemon, and i shiny hunt in the post game
29:30 My first game was Pokemon Emerald. On the playground in elementary school, a kid was playing Fire Red. Watching him play was my intro to Pokemon and I was enthralled. I asked my dad to buy the game for me and not knowing the name at the time, I just said I wanted "the one with the dragon on it." Dad came home with Pokemon Emerald (it does have a dragon on it) and while I was confused at first, I fell in love with it. Hoenn will always have a special place in my heart.
*A fellow Gen 3 baby! High five!* The game that introduced me to Pokemon is Leaf Green (due to the fact that I watched two let's plays of it _obsessively_ as a kid and I played it a bit on an emulator), but I consider my true "first game home" to be Emerald, because that's the first one I played as an actually-kinda-competent teenager. I played it pseudo-blind (as in I've never watched a full playthrough, but watched some challange runs... I think) and it was a ton of fun.
This was so creative hehe fun to watch But the last type was heartwarming, winning with your faves be the best way. My first game was Pearl and I've been playing every mainline game since 2007 :')

Love this! Creative way to explore the different areas of pokemon fandom (specifically the games) and also poke some fun. The last part felt very heartfelt and I really appreciated it. A small love letter to a game many of us have good memories of. It makes me excited for when my kid is a little older and can hopefully have just as much fun!

Got legit kinda emotional and nostalgic at that last section. I started playing Pokemon when I was 4, starting out with Silver, backpedaling to Yellow, and in time I've played every game. The series went through a rough patch and I fell off for gens 7 and 8 but with Legends Arceus being such a banger and Scarlet and Violet on the horizon the future of the series is looking bright and I'm glad to be back.

My first game was alpha sapphire, and I remember finding a 3ds GameShark knockoff to make my event dragonite with barrier, event shiny rayquaza, beautifly, and starter blaziken named toasty all level 100, get infinite items(master balls, full restores, rare candies), and cheat a fully completed national dex. Loved the hoenn games ever since.
I mainly watched the Pokemon anime as a kid, I didn't care much for games. I have a vague memory of playing Diamond, but I can't say I have much nostalgia. I became a proper Pokemon fan who played the game when I got a 3DS for my 18th birthday, and I got Alpha Sapphire. It was so much fun, most of my memories from the anime was from Hoenn, so I had so much fun with that game! I went and bought Pokemon X, which was the newest Pokemon game (though Sun and Moon would be coming soon), and I loved it. I know Gen 6 gets a lot of hate, especially XY, but it's probably the Gen I feel the closest too, and have replayed the most. I'm so glad to be a Pokemon fan again.
If we’re talking main series games, my first game was White 2 and got every game since then. I have a strong attachment to Gen 5 because of this. That wasn’t the first Pokémon game I own, nor the oldest, but it’s the first main series one I played. I’ve since gotten HeartGold, Black, and Pearl (which I took from my brother cause he never played it and isn’t into Pokémon anymore. It was the first Pokémon game that I didn’t get as well, and also the first main series game we got in general. Somehow White/Black got skipped over when I got White 2/Black 2)
My first region was Kanto as well. I started with Pokémon Blue and Yellow soon after. My first Pokémon was Squirtle and the last game I ever bought was Pokémon Silver. I didn't have enough money, so I couldn't get Crystal. I plan on playing the games that I can on an emulator.

I've made a few hacked Pokemon in my Heart Gold game flashcard. Like giving my Johto starter their Gen5 hidden ability (if the ability was available back in Gen4) and moves I thought they could learn or would make sense (like Icicle Spear on a Regice)

And I'm kinda ashamed to admit that my first time playing platinum had me having 2 water, 2 electric, a fire type and a rock/ground type. But I did grab a lot of items and catched pokemon other than my team. Now I've gotten better, still casual but I do care about moves somewhat but I could care less about natures and ivs/evs. I somewhat care about abilities. I also started in gen 4 and been buying games ever since

I remember the good old day's when I only use Typhlosion with Flamethrower,Thunder punch, rollout ( it's op against fire types) and Earthquake. Typhlosion is really op in gold and silver believe it. I just use Typhlosion the whole gameplay.. Expect pkmn which I use for moves like surf, strength etc.(They remain 5 to 10 level)

Throwback to those days i thought crobat was a trade evolution. I didnt always had internet back then so the only way to guess how pokemon evolve is to hack and overfeed them rare candies until a certain level so yeah.
UUUUGH That genwunner segment hurt like a nuke in the nuts… I’d like to say: though the newer generations are fun, I highly prefer the first four generations, as the dex up to victini stays pretty simple with design. I’d play any game through once as long as it’s decent, but Generations 3 and 4 Pokémon is my jam.

The first generation i've played was technically gen 7, because the Let's Go-games were still in gen 7
I remember the good old day's when I only use Typhlosion with Flamethrower,Thunder punch, rollout ( it's op against fire types) and Earthquake.
Typhlosion is really op in gold and silver believe it.
I just use Typhlosion the whole gameplay.. Expect pkmn which I use for moves like surf, strength etc.(They remain 5 to 10 level)

Throwback to those days i thought crobat was a trade evolution. I didnt always had internet back then so the only way to guess how pokemon evolve is to hack and overfeed them rare candies until a certain level so yeah.

I’d like to say: though the newer generations are fun, I highly prefer the first four generations, as the dex up to victini stays pretty simple with design. I’d play any game through once as long as it’s decent, but Generations 3 and 4 Pokémon is my jam.

I think the point of the Go player would be not to use mechanics that they don't have in Go. Like how Purplecliffe doesn't know about types that aren't in the TCG.
