💯 percent solo. Been playing since 2004. I’m in a guild with people from way back when but they know I just like to do my own thing and they let me lol. 😂 Once I get all my alts slowly to max level, I go into old raids and one-shot everything to farm transmog and mounts. Makes me happy! And no toxic players that way.
Same in regards to runnin older content to sweep for xmogs and mounts. I've a bad habit of "Themed Alts" that sit around. I'm loving all the XP boosts we have right now.
Same here ! And even when I do get to do dungeons and other more "competitive content" I don't take it too seriously or start raging over the smallest mistakes and such. I think people tend to forget that it's actually just a game and so they make it their whole personality to be the "best" at everything.
I have been playing solo since vanilla. I have never been in a guild and have probably only done current 'dungeon/raid' content in any expansion maybe 1/2 dozen times. I go through raids when I can solo them and take my time. I like to look around, find nooks and crannies of stuff and lore. I explore a lot and try to find out of the way places in the world. For the most part I find the WoW player base/community to be beyond toxic and I don't want to bother with them at all.
I used to raid a lot. Getting 20-40 people moving through a raid in a timely fashion is EXHAUSTING, my patience for it wore thin. The last 8 seasons I earned at least Keystone Master in M+ runs, but people became increasingly toxic as difficulty rose. Now I have an 80 of each class, all on their way to full Hero track gear. That's enough for me with my current play style, until I need (or want) to farm Gilded crests.
Thanks for this Zouty. I’ve been playing solo pretty much my whole time in Wow since 2005. It’s great in this expansion that solo play is being respected much more. I have been able to get all my gear to a level equivalent to the HC raid just from doing delves. And in a few weeks will be able to push up the level to get a mythic tier set appearance for the first time ever. And the warlock mythic set for this season is a really sweet one 😊.
I've been playing wow on and off for years, in multiple different servers, and I'm always playing solo. I hate when people just zoom through stuff to grind and get to the end. It's like that famous saying, you gotta enjoy the fun in the journey, so yeah, you do you. I'll always be an advocate for going at your own pace, I myself have already the characters lvl 80 in the war within and haven't started raiding just because I don't really enjoy the process that much. Sometimes I just log in to explore and fly around and that's already fulfilling as a game experience for me, I love this game!
Absolutely, I am an advocate for that as well. Logging in and flying around is great too, I find myself doing that for awhile before I even attempt to look at my map or quests or anything. A lot of the time if you start one of my videos it's safe to say I've been doing that for at least a bit before I hit that record button lol. Thanks for watching a commenting I really do appreciate ya.
Grats on the mounts. Most of my characters are not in guilds. A couple are but I still do most things solo. My favourite situation is having a buddy to play with. Happy hunting!
That Obsidian Worldbreaker mount is so cool! Congrats on all your awesome stuff lately, Zouty! I'm glad you're playing WoW however you want, even if that means being solo most of the time. I've been playing since 2009 when my best friend brought a WoW CD to school and was telling me all about how cool the game was. :) After she quit, I kept playing. I've only belonged to guilds about 3 years out of all 15 years playing WoW. It's like you said... when you play solo, you can go at your own pace, make mistakes, learn and just do whatever the heck you want. I love it. :) Do you know what you could do? Make another character on another server and join a guild over there. Then, when you want a break, you can go back to Faydd and play alone (or do it vice versa). I enjoy low-population servers so I play on the RP server Lightninghoof a lot. It's so quiet and peaceful and I don't have to fight for resources as much, or struggle to get World Quests done with 30 other people running around in the same area on top of you, lol. Have a nice week!!
Thanks, I'm obsessed with getting new mounts they are one of the most fun things to collect imo. It's pretty cool to me that a friend got you into the game so long ago and you are still interested in it, shows how deep this game can go! Also, I do like your idea of making another character on another server! New characters are on my mind for sure, I'm approaching that time soon I think.
@@itszouty The cool thing about making a brand new character is that you can start from scratch at level 1 and work your way through the whole story of Azeroth at your own pace, learning the lore and meeting the characters that are the foundation of the game. :)
Love your content. Keep doing what you are doing, there is no "right" way to play this game. You can do /mountspecial where you type your chat, each mount does something :)
This is the most solo friendly the game has ever been, especially with the introduction of delves which has been a fantastic addition for players like me who can't play while most others are online. My work schedule is primarily closing shifts, so it wouldn't be compatible with most raiding guilds. With more delves coming in 11.1 it's clearly a new major pillar in the game and I couldn't be happier about that.
You can really easily choose your investment level this xpac. I got my AOTC by basically gearing up in a combination of delves and the normal raid-I never stepped foot in Mythic+, which was exactly my goal. Now that I’m done with my personal progression, I’m looking forward to dialing back and doing laid back solo content on my alts, which to me is the real bread and butter.
Totally, which I think is a nice freedom to have. If you wanna go hard and grind like a mad man you can and if you want to dial it back you can and still get some fun rewards.
Been mostly solo for the past 18 years, not totally of course you have to group for some stuff but like you said I like to go at my own pace or go do something boring for 2 months or maybe not log on for a week. My view is you bought the game you play it like you want. I read a comment from a guy who played a rogue and stealthed the whole time and if another player saw him he would delete the toon and start over. I went to northrend as a lvl 25 rogue (the area was lvl 70 to 80 at the time) so I could fish up the riding turtle, so for like 3 months thats all I did. I had a buddy that played he actually got me to play but he mostly raided and I never raided so we almost never played together but you can always chat even if you aren't playing together. and don't forget use heroic leap lol You may have used it but I haven't seen you do it.
I have been doing mostly delves and I have heroics tier sets which is 616- 619. And with being able to start in dragonflight and do follower dungeons, you absolutely can solo everything. I went back to dragonflight content on my Hunter who wasn't as geared as she is now and did regular mythics. So yes. You absolutely do not need group content to do what you want to do except for raids.
I've played off and on since Burning Crusade and I'd say 99.5% of that was as a Solo Player (outside of LFR). I'm so casual I got kicked out of a casual guild. This time around I was invited to a guild, began joining with alts then noticed the character that was initially invited had already been kicked out. Not due to inaction, due to silence. Do not sweat the gear grind, play at your own pace and eventually the "Gear Catch-Up" Patch will hit and everyone gets a good boost. There's so much older content you can steamroll Solo for Xmogs and mounts.
Old players like me met lifelong guildies throughout the game's journey. Some of my old mates are dead already both figuratively and literally. Nowadays I just play solo most of the time. Modern wow has catered for solo gameplay since modern gaming has gone this route now.
Gotta agree with ya there yeah I think it definitely has gone that route in a lot of ways! I DO however still want to meet some awesome guildies myself. In time I will do this I'm sure.
When I was playing WoW there was 1 player who considered himself a pacifist..! Most people knew him/her and was a great source of amusement I even think at the time there was a TH-cam clip of him/her levelling his character by non violent means 😂 brilliant made everyone smile at the time. I'm all for solo content but there is a reason as to why its called an MMORPG. Not wanting or feeling like its a strain to interact with other people just seems like you wanted an open world game not an MMO. Would you recommend this to a friend? And why? @@DianePahl Lol, have fun with your new DH girl. DH, DK and Monk are the three classes I've never played before, even though the first two are really popular choices. My main girl is a Hunter and my other favorite is a Paladin. I hear DH is super-fun to play, so enjoy! :)
I'm all for solo content but there is a reason as to why its called an MMORPG. Not wanting or feeling like its a strain to interact with other people just seems like you wanted an open world game not an MMO. Would you recommend this to a friend? And why? I think that's what the gripe is boiled down to most of the players in WoW retail. Yes its okay and perfect to add in these new ways to play wow. But it's fundamentally disregarding what the game actually is.
Once I’m back online, I’ll have to see if war within is F2P friendly. I’ve been 90% solo just due to f2p limits.

Another path to solo play where you CAN get the max gear for that mode is PvP.
I do really want to get into pvp when I’m a bit more experienced with wow.
