Such a great airplane it always was. Loved by pilots and passengers alike. The Boeing 757 is going to be hard to replace. A very versatile workhorse it was and still is as a pure freighter.
I was able to be in the airport operations car for G-LSAI's final passenger flight out to Geneva, unfortunately wasnt able to catch the landing on the return leg to Manchester as we were busy doing other bits
Rightly or wrongly, you are often accused of exaggeration. As someone who has lived in the UK for all of my life, saying that the UK and snow don't mix is very much an uncharacteristic understatement!
@ricky1231 Quite, just enough to limit the time the winter temperature remains below freezing. Unfortunately, the constant freeze thaw cycles play havoc with our roads, and the air remains humid, making it feel much colder than it actually is!
Agree. Technology and effiecncy are better with the later 737-9 and airbus 321neoLRER with sharklets, but they cannot out perform the 757 in anything but fuel burn and not by much. You said it perfectly, no manufacture has a 757 replacement but the 737-9 and 321neoLRER with sharklets and extra fuel tanks comes close.. all good planes.
should of been a 757 max instead of the 737 max, it would directly compete with the A321XLR and many people ive asked about this have said this should have been the route boeing should of taken, because now they are loosing that sector since the 737 max does not compete at all in that same market
infamous? Wrong. She is one of the most successful and reliable jet ever built. I loved her as a passenger, also because I could trust in her. Pilots liked them, too. So why infamous?
But it depends which airline it is. Personally I did a trip on a triple in 23 and was amazed at how noisy it was. I haven't been on a 330 neo yet, but everyone says it's marvellous.
the B757-200 fleet will probably be replaced by the A321-200neo LR . . . or B787-9 wide body jets for that matter . . . Jet2 should seriously consider operating as a proper full service carrier in limited capacity, taste the waters kind of thing . . . before deciding to operate as a full service subsidiary of Jet2 . . .
Shame - glad I've managed to fly on the 757 before its retirement. All the cool aircraft are just being replaced by the 73 and 320 family, alas cool for avgeeks doesn't increase fuel economy of the old jets.
All the Boeing bois are triggered with just one word, amazing lol. Relax bozos, 757 is great and famous. And you very well know why it's infamous for. Let us go back quarter of a century, or around 25 years..
@ pretty sure that’s not the reason 😂😂the reason is it hardly sold when it came out cuz they released it early and then when the market evolved enough people bulk buyer the aircraft and then Boeing had to stop production because of new aircraft, but I mean if u think a plane being used in 9/11 is gonna make it more popular then that’s kinda backwards cuz it would be a negative connotation
The 757 is not infamous. Famous is the appropriate adjective
Celebrated moreover. DJ has trouble choosing the appropriate word sometimes.
DJ has issues with English - give him a break
It's kinda both. Famous for being an iconic reliable workhorse and infamous for, well, Manhattan.

Brilliant servant to Jet2
The first ever aircraft I've flown on with Britannia from Birmingham to Almeria🛫

The 757's are starting to get really old. As such, most airlines except for the likes of United and Delta will keep them around.
Rightly or wrongly, you are often accused of exaggeration.

It snows in England and north of Scotland.
Weirdly, the central belt does not
tropical gulf streams from the Amazon in Brazil influence the climate in the UK
More rain than snow ❄️

757 nice plane
Can you explain why you said infamous, completely the wrong word to describe these iconic beasts.
Odd choice of words is an unfortunate feature of this channel.
I've said it before, this guy appears to have minimal education and therefore a limited vocabulary. It's a bore listening to him
@@rogerwilco4736 Yet you are here. Interesting.

Why such a hater of Boeing
“Infamous 757”
Fuel guzzler by todays standards infamous but my favourite Boeing with Rolls Royce RB211-535C power plants.
I was on that last flight. It was awesome despite the 3hr delay

Boeing 757…❤️🤍💙🇬🇧🇺🇸
Infamous??
He means famous.
Thanks Dj!!
The perfect charter leisure jet.
Why infamous? This was a wonderful aeroplane (by Boeing standards, which are admittedly quite low).

Yesterday the last 757 departed
Watched both final flights live on Airliners Live shame they gonna be tin cans now
Or go to DHL after converting to a freighter.

Why infamous ?
On sunday 6th? Thats incorrect. 5th.
That airplane isn't even manufactured anymore
Jet2 is slowly moving to a Airbus only fleet.
Thank God.
@ Last time when on the A330s they were horrible.
To be honest, if you sit in the wrong part of any plane, it's horrible.
Whatever you do, don't go on a 787. It's real doo doo
@@JamesAidan-s7o Nah the seats on the 330 are horrible and it’s by far the loudest plane in there fleet.

It is being replaced by the A321 Neo and XLRs could, if ordered, cover longer haul routes.

Seems this is a airbus fan channel
No. It's just reality in the world today.
Jet2 should replace its 757 with the A321neo, its the best option atm.
They have been, jet2 have quite a few already delivered probably about 10 with over 100 on order
more stock for the freighter market.

@Octopusgivesyouahundo Well, infamous. Not famous. The 757 is quite popular for many good reasons. The tragic incident made it infamous as well.
Infamous??
