my man is a proper stand up guy! don't let his music videos create an image of him in your mind. May Allah give sufferers of mental health issues strength and hope in tough times
Following Allah is the issue....a barbaric backward religion about a peasant who raped a child then expected others to be good.... why isn't it Haram to touch kids ...it's allowed in islam
I can't believe the interviewer said "I don't want to go down the religious route" like Fam that's what the guy needs and yearning for how you Tryna dismiss the important route to his recovery Smhh
Charlie wheeler if you disagree then it's your opinion but don't explicitly tell someone they are wrong, just because they may have a different opinion from yours 🙄🙃
Fusiionn... thats exactly his problem, he truly knows that he cant live without religion and he knows he cant live the life he wants with religion(contridiction) but at the same time he knows he needs religion... he couldnt even avoid talking about it in the interview. "im waiting on God to save me" ربي يهدينا
Why would anyone follow this thing called religion made up by men who met another man worshiped him and wrote a book about him...and who would write about Allah😃 a peasant who was a paedophile.
Geko is an intelligent guy. He knows his problem and subhana'Allah even the solution. He just needs good company and encouagement from the right person. Ali dawah knows his deen but he's not judgmental. I hope he doesn't do a video but you guys actually sit down and talk privately.
Going through all of that yet still wanting to help others, pouring your heart out for the sake of others SubhanAllah. Being that self less is beautiful. May Allah heal your pain & ease your trials, we're all sinners & we're all tested in different ways. ya rabbb ya rahman protect us all from hardships
I feel like this could be the sign for so many watching this may need right now. 100% agreed on what geko said about namaaz and dua, it is the one thing that helps me.
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ Those who believe and whose hearts are set at rest by the remembrance of Allah; now surely by Allah's remembrance are the hearts set at rest.
The reason why i think you help others is because you want them to feel happy and not go through anything that your going through. I felt the same way when going through depression. I prayed that God would help me and that no one would ever feel the way i felt.
i only listen to gekos music but i didnt know anything about him but honestly after watching this i can see the kind of good person geko is n i think the whole world should see how down to earth person he is
Wallah this made me cry im 16 years old and i can relate to nearly everything you have said but the difference is that i have no family to turn back on and talk to however you have your sister 💯❤️✨ May Allah (swt) give you the strength to overcome your mental health problems i knoe its hard to open up because im the same and i bottle it all up. Also in'sha'Allah your dad will recover from the physical issues. May Allah (swt) give your whole family a blessed life. Alhamdulillah we are all still here in this world, all we can do is look out for one another 💯🙌🏼❤️✨
Ama _nniee ive had mentoring and councilling ive had everything to be honest i trust these 2 girls with my whole life i trust them more then my family ive had depression tablets wah can help me
At 43:00 Geko is correct, when he said he's making this video to address the issue and to help other's whom are going through this rather than it all to be focused on himself has gained my respect for him. Hussain Manawer is wrong to see Geko as being "Selfish" he blatantly showed he doesn't understand, that he doesn't stop and think or try to understand.
Allah is both As Salām - Source of Peace and As Sabur - Giver of Patience, The All Patient One. You're right! he even said when he prays and does good he feels peace at around 20:00 he needs Allah we all need Allah
You say hussain was the right guy to speak to but at 20:20 its clear he wasn't, the only solution is Allah and you've said what makes you happy is praying etc, you should have spoke to someone who would have speak more about Islam and Allah
100% this guy has no regard for Geko's feeling, he's treating him like a Public Figure rather than a real person, keeps talking over him and puts words and thoughts into his brain.
Heartbreaking. I love him too much, hurts me to see him going thru something so deep n I can't change that. I just wanna hug him n never let him go🤕 he deserves so much love n happiness !! Mental health matters, always always be nice you never know who is facing their own battles! Respect him for this❤
May Allah grant him the best of health and happiness. May Allah strengthen his Eman, keep him firm on the path of Haq, and forgive him for his shortcomings.
You say you feel good helping people. The most selfless thing you can do is work on helping yourself. The depression will always be there and We can't do anything about that. But you can make it better. Focus on improving your mental health. That will put you in your best position to help others. Look at everything you have achieved while suffering. Your potential is phenomenal and if you can get mentally secure, you will continue to break barriers. Good luck geko
Geko you are an extraordinary young man who has achieved and been through a huge amount at such a young age. Mental health issues will creep up on you when you least expect it, and may come into your life in different forms. Every psychology is unique and every individual has a different coping mechanism. Do what works best for you, which helps elevate your mind from the negative cycle. One way of viewing some mental health issues can be, 'the brain crying or struggling to grow or expand, due to there being something missing or searching for a greater need or meaning', in cases such as this spirituality or religion can assist and surrendering to a higher consciousness or power or what ever belief system one may hold can be a great help. Helping others is a great way which can relieve symptoms of depression due to it having the ability to release the feel good chemical in your brain. Depression is ultimately a prolonged period of sadness, which causes the reduction of seretonin.
i don't like the brothers interview style but after watching the whole vid i began to see why the brother's the way he is. and his poem was actually deep.
The best way to save yourself is through Islam and making your mum happy, make your mother proud by showing your success through the deen, then watch her smile will change your sad tears into happy tears!!
I hope you read this Geko, or anyone else in this similar situation. I myself have suffered from depression for years and for a few months I did go through a patch of anxiety - I myself cannot really understand why this has happened, maybe some parts but there is no single reason. I imagine when you do shows, making music, those are good times when you are happy, but aside from that you largely find yourself in this space, this absence of purpose and that's when the depression and anxiety kick in - I may be completely wrong though. When you said you like helping others, it made you happy... why is that? It's because you felt you had a purpose. I think PARTLY (that word is incredibly important) what you lack is a sense of purpose this is termed 'existential vacuum'. A book that talks about the existential vacuum is "A man's search for meaning". It describes how in the Nazi german POW camps, those who survived often had 1. hope and 2. a sense of purpose - family to get back to, a book to finish or even something as little as a garden at home to maintain. The author (a psychologist, who also was a POW) found that those who died had firstly given up hope and (more importantly) NO SENSE OF PURPOSE - an existential vacuum. Depression and anxiety are extremely complicated topics to the point where there is evidence that it is a biological disease (as in flu or the common cold) rather than a mental one. I may have got your situation totally wrong but it helped me. I genuinely think finding a sense of purpose would HELP (not cure)- just like surviving on that subway surfers did. So what purpose you ask? that's up to you now, and the point where helping yourself comes into play.
I used to go through depression/anxiety. What helped me was exercising and lifting weights, as well as eating healthy. Eating foods containing omega 3 as well as high protein meals and getting plenty of vitamin d and sunlight cured me. Also praying to God and thanking him for all the good things in my life helped as well.
this is soo sad... iloveyou geko and ijust wanted to say stay strong pls and ipray that inshallah Allah gets you thru it and pls dont ever hurt yourself.... ik its hard going thru something like this... iunderstand because isuffer from a mental illness too... im schizophrenic... and ik it feels like you wont get thru it but dw inshallah you will xx
Ngl I never rated geko but after this interview but I really respect him for opening his heart out on social media. It takes courage to do this And inshallah Allah will cure his "mental health" because it's very true about what he said, anxiety is only in your head and people need to know this but when he said he tells everyone to be silent and he puts his hands on his ears he may have epilepsy. The reason I know because someone I know does this and they have epilepsy so inshallah Allah will help him and his family in their time of distress ameen!:)
Geko seemed to be so happy, relaxed, and total zen when talking about religion. The interviewer shouldn't of ignored it or dismissed it instead he should've expanded on it. I hope to see Geko have an interview with a muslim youtuber
Geko is not mentally ill you have just become aware your senses become heightened you begin to hear things you never did before. You will begin to see the world differently especially people. Many of us try to escape what we are feeling as we can not handle it by using drugs and alcohol as an escapism. Once we get through this awakening be ready for your next chapter. Talking to like minded people and finding someone that is experiencing the same helps you deal with it better. I really connect with your soul there are many souls that know what you are going through and god will put these people on your path to help you on your journey. What upsets me the most is people are taking there lives because they can't handle this transition and these people need help. From people like us Geko so let's help them. Something can trigger these awakenings such as death and many other happenings be it small or big. Good luck on your spiritual journey Geko take care of your soul, body and mind as it is very precious. Close your eyes and the answers are within, do not be afraid as your journey is about to begin. This guy can not relate to you as he hasn't been through it, some of us don't become aware and he ain't. Your an empath Geko. You will feel everything watch the film Lucy.
Inshallah he gets better I think the music industry lifestyle effected his mental health 😩 He should take some time off to get better & inshallah he'll see the light under the tunnel 🙏🏽
I've been going through the same thing, it can ruin your life literally and you don't even understand whats happening to you. Thanks for raising awareness
respect geko I have bipolar and it's so comforting to hear how others cope with there illnesses . it's a constant battle. this video just made me respect you and your music more
loool i used to think geko was a wasteman junkie drinking 24/7 but nou ive seen this video my whole opinion has been changed. youll get threw this g inshallah
SMN Productions ikhwan that's why we shouldn't judge a book by its cover there's always more to someone than meets the eyes ygm the prophet Mohammad saw may pbuh also said to the closest meaning do not judge a Muslim or be prejudice for we do not know they may be more beloved to allah than we are allah knows best there's always another side to the story it's like the biased portrayal in the media of Muslims in the west when wars occur some incidents are not shown in favour of the other etc. I have never seen a non biased news reporter. Having said that, geko's depression doesn't justify his actions especially since he has ilm (knowledge) of the deen to a certain extent that is standard I hope he knows Allah won't pardon his sins unless he repents especially because he isn't ignorant as he has shown in this video may Allah guide him and give us all the ability to stay on the haqq (truth). I've got family members who are suffering from similar illness the symptoms are visible and have been diagnosed they all said the same thing only the dhikr remembrance of Allah made them feel at ease.
inshallah i will remember u in my duuas brother, watched the whole interview, thanks for sharing! love your work and inshallah you get better including other people with the same issues
Start a fresh my brother, start earning halal money and forget the past in the hopes that Allah will forgive and start praying inshallah, Allah is all merciful. May Allah guide us all. Ameen
It's hard to speak out about anxiety and fear. I have a lot of admiration for Geko. Keep talking and make a difference to so many that are struggling in today's world.
Allah is both As Salām - Source of Peace and As Sabur - Giver of Patience, The All Patient One. You're right! he even said when he prays and does good he feels peace at around 20:00 he needs Allah we all need Allah
This is such a powerful message 😭🙏🏼 stay strong geko ❤️ inshallah you get through this ❤️ this video has made me love you even more than before if that's even possible 😘 constantly saying dua for you and everyone on the planet ❤️
this man is so honest respect him he does good deeds to help himself an made a good decision to help cancer patients but maybe not as much money as it seems like its left you struggling😏 you will get through this geko
to me i think this has to be the best video i have seen as i know what its like to lose your brother and with my depression and anxiety it hurts sooo much but listening to geko and what he thinks has made me feel better thank you for bieng an inspiration.
Geko fam had the same issues for years and years and always thought alcohol and smoking keeps my mind busy. Depression and panic attacks get you stronger, healthier once you are coming out of this. Be strong and pray. Inshallah!
wow. wallah i've just seen a whole different side to geko. mashallah, you can tell he has quite a bit of knowledge on islam and not gonna lie, it kinda annoyed me that hussain didn't let him continue to talk about it. maybe geko could make a video on this topic to do with islam in his life. may Allah make life easy for geko and guide him. ameen.
Wow this touched me man, I've been listening to your music for so long and watching this video made me so sad but also good, I beg you do more of these videos!! Your gonna help so many with this
Its not easy to talk about this stuff and honestly you will literally not understand what this person is going through until you go through it yourself or somebody within the same household goes through it and even then you probably will just touch the tip of understanding how it is to actually live with it, respect to geko
This interviewer is mocking it.. No manners and just saying things for the sake of it... Smh, he needs to empathise with the brother instead of patronising..
exactly when u focus on the positive and count your blessings rather than the negatives and vanity you realise your situation aint so bad after all 24.58
GEKO I BEEN THRU THIS ALL REAL TALK, TRUST ME WALLAH BRO ONLY THING THAT HELPED ME WAS PRAYING BRO, TRUST ME FAM ONE WEEK AND I WAS BLESS..JUST PRAY BRO ITS HARD AT FIRST BUT JUST DO IT
No clue Geko was going through this. I don't think there was any need for him to address it, but I'm glad he did. We are all Human at the end of the day and we will all experience some sort of discomfort in life, but sharing these thoughts are always key to overcoming it. After watching this has made me re-evaluate my own problems. Some people go through worse than others, I see Geko has come out stronger from this. He seems very genuine. The castle metaphor is 👌🏽. Alhamdulilah. Respect Geko!
my man is a proper stand up guy! don't let his music videos create an image of him in your mind. May Allah give sufferers of mental health issues strength and hope in tough times

Salam bro,
Hugely respect you being so open and I genuinely feel many people can take away valuable lessons from your story. May Allah bless you.
loool i used to think geko was a wasteman junkie drinking 24/7 but nou ive seen this video my whole opinion has been changed. youll get threw this g inshallah
Haider Ali Khan
inih Truss I would never known this before
SMN Productions ikhwan that's why we shouldn't judge a book by its cover there's always more to someone than meets the eyes ygm the prophet Mohammad saw may pbuh also said to the closest meaning do not judge a Muslim or be prejudice for we do not know they may be more beloved to allah than we are allah knows best there's always another side to the story it's like the biased portrayal in the media of Muslims in the west when wars occur some incidents are not shown in favour of the other etc.

All this time, I thought he was a coke head😂💀
Bill Cosby never
Turkish CYP always
Allah is both As Salām - Source of Peace and As Sabur - Giver of Patience, The All Patient One. You're right! he even said when he prays and does good he feels peace at around 20:00 he needs Allah we all need Allah
Deep shit bro, if only the interview was done by someone else
This is such a powerful message 😭🙏🏼 stay strong geko ❤️ inshallah you get through this ❤️ this video has made me love you even more than before if that's even possible 😘 constantly saying dua for you and everyone on the planet ❤️
mans going through anxiety for 2 years but mans holding it down, no problems to big for the lord
this man is so honest respect him he does good deeds to help himself an made a good decision to help cancer patients but maybe not as much money as it seems like its left you struggling😏 you will get through this geko
Keep seeking treatment and never give up on your salah, God bless geko.
to me i think this has to be the best video i have seen as i know what its like to lose your brother and with my depression and anxiety it hurts sooo much but listening to geko and what he thinks has made me feel better thank you for bieng an inspiration.
Man I hope you feel better soon InshaAllah ❤️💯
Your gonna help so many with this
DAWAH MAN if you see this, please interview brother geko.
lafille amonpere Not dawah man do it by mufti menk cause he studies alim 6 7 years
Its not easy to talk about this stuff and honestly you will literally not understand what this person is going through until you go through it yourself or somebody within the same household goes through it and even then you probably will just touch the tip of understanding how it is to actually live with it, respect to geko
Rar crazy seeing Geko like this hope my man gets better you know still In'sha'allah bro 💯
soo amazing hearing someone go through the same things as you
This interviewer is mocking it..
Yes my bro, I've made a video on my channel that I really feel will benefit you with what your going through, check it out family ❤
I discovered him through your video! thanks Musa Adnan 😊
Conor McGregor
Musa Adnan Wallah I wish the likes of you or Ali dawah had interviewed geko. This guy did not talk about the main thing which is actually deen.
how many people do you think this helped?? i think including me i think it it helped a lotttttttttt, this took guts and i really appreciate it
