This was a tough one. There will never be another like him.

This man was literally a real life Goku. Turning enemies into allies along his journey. Vegeta at one point was Goku's greatest rival and is now his greatest allie/friend. Who could ever forget Matt & Kobes rivalry and now look at how much he respects and admires Kobe in this interview. Truly an amazing man. Miss him terribly
As a lifelong Spurs and NBA fan, two takeaways. 1) I could listen to Kobe talk all day long about his personal interactions with MJ. Their connection, similarities, and differences are just so interesting and fun. And 2) to hear Kobe speak about San Antonio with so much reverence just means so much as a Spurs fan watching that rivalry for all those years. He contributed to so many amazing memories for each of those respective team’s franchises. They dominated the NBA for nearly 20 years. Kobe will truly be missed! #RIP
He needs to work on flowing into questions better. Have key points to fall back on but try and have more of a seamless conversation. In saying that, they have something special here and I'm glad they're doing it.
He was just talking about how much he loved to watch his daughter play and now they both die i'm not even a basketball fan but this hurts may they both rest in peace
Naw this what God wanted just think if he had died and daughter was still alive she may not could’ve handle his loss and vice versa it’s sad for all that died in that crash omg it’s just heart breaking.... just look back at they pics the bond was sooooo strong they couldn’t be without each other on this earth 😭😭😭😭😭 #GODKNOWSBEST!!! TO ALL THE SMOKE THANKS FOR THIS INTERVIEW!!
It doesn't even seem real ... He was one of those rare athletes that you could listen to talk about things other than sports. I feel privileged to have watched him play in his prime. Watching him play on TV doesn't even convey his intensity. Yet off the court, a warm greeting individual... he will be sorely missed ... Mamba Forever
Kobe is the reason I started watching basketball, Kobe is the reason why i love the Lakers, kobe to me is the best player ever and he will forever be my favorite player!!
A few things I picked up from this if anybody is Interested: • Kobe’s confidence wasn’t a delusional type of confidence, he knew he put the necessary amount of work in • Kobe would recognize the talent in others, respect where respect is due • Recognize the areas you are not comfortable in, and get better in those • Kobe would seek knowledge. Talk to people you are interested in and think might know something

I love that Kobe didn’t do typical media stuff for Retired players when he stopped playing basketball (podcast on the game, sitting on a panel breaking down every game with current players, etc.). He was Kobe.. he had to navigate a new course and set a new path. Writing books for kids Won an Oscar Coaching kids And so many more projects he was probably planning that we’ll probably never know about. Paulo Coelho had come out and said he was deleting how far they had gotten in a joint venture of a new book because it was senseless without him now (the day of his death). I wonder how much more we would have seen from him. RIP Kobe ❤
@Mamba out wth are you talking about?? Dude, it’s Well Documented that Kobe Helped RECRUIT RON and MATT!! Stop trying to be funny with your DRY as a Bone Ass Humor, Playa!!!
This quote from another player makes me think of Kobe. "Don't judge me until you know me. Don't underestimate me until you challenge me. And don't talk about me until you've talked to me."
The Jones Family I found that Kobe recruited Barnes, not artest. Well, it does not matter and I don’t give two shits. The whole point is they transited from hating Kobe to respecting his game due to his undeniable work ethics.
Shaya Panda you just another person. I’m just another person. In all due respects Matt Barnes and Stephan Jackson are just “another person” obvi ex nba stars, but compared to Kobe, most of the world are just other people. Kobe was special.

I agree that the Jordan interviews are a must watch but only because they are so rare! Jordan has done only three interviews the last decade, one with 2kSports, one with a cigar podcast (since he loves cigars), and one with Good Morning America! Kobe’s interviews, on the other hand, are more reccurent but he gives a lot of takes and history! Got to respect that!
What makes Kobe a real champion is that he actually said: "If you're crazy enough to F with me, you're crazy enough to play with me" Instead of surrounding himself with yes-sayers and friends, he actually tried to toughen his squad up with people who dared to question his authority and were not afraid to deal with him. Thats not very common for a 5 times champion
I think he suffers from delusions of grandeur. To say he wasn't playing early in his career is bullshit, and insulting to guys like Jermaine Oneal who really didn't play much in their young careers. This guy Kobe was given 4th quarter game winning shots he air-balled, played enough to make the all-star team his 2nd year, was the beneficiary of Eddie Jones trade his 3rd or 4th year. Forget selfish or arrogance. Delusions of grandeur. And his low post D never got much better. Ahem, Patterson, Melo, Bonzi, Magette is just a short list of guys that posted him up his whole career.

U dont have to say beyond. Transcending is already "going beyond"
2024 and I'm watching this interview for the 7th time just to see and hear kobe talk... R.i.p. King kob the real goat with mj

Stephen played Kobe for years and has so much respect for him as a player . That shows how great kobe was.
All the players give Kobe the most respect it's the damn media and some stupid ass fans that dont.

Matt barnes is a great interviewer
Him and stacc feed off each other good i see y they have one together

Bro Kobe said he wanted 8 rings and went 5/7 that’s INSANE!!! Truly up there with the greats in ALL of sports man a true champions win or lose
At least he's positive in the final
if he doesnt tear his achilles and if nash is healthy & dwight was healthy and on the same page he probably gets another
@@visualsensationz dude was leading the NBA in score that year right before he tore his Achilles at the age of 34. Kobe was carrying the Lakers but people care about stats too much to where Kobe played in the most stacked western conference and people never speak on that.
Kobe so competitive he got himself a bigger chair
Edit: Just wanted to come back and say thanks for the likes and RIP to the GOAT and Gigi 🐍🐍🐍

Omg I’m dying
SJ23 The master chair? The alpha-chair? Hmmm....maybe not that deep...but again Kobe Bryant is an sociopath lol 😅
Buddy Guyerson 🤣

You can really see that Jackson admires Kobe an his greatness. The respect is real.
yeah.. I felt it broh.. Stack really admire and respect Kobe.. look at his movement or action.. it so refined..

Daymon Rondino cuz they were teammates
Daymon Rondino plus Matt did said he never stopped respecting Kobe
I can dig the analogy
It's not that deep lol if anything Kobe is Vegeta while LeBron is Goku
Kobe has a Vegeta persona while LeBron has a Goku persona
@@TheNarutodbzss19 But it is that deep. Same with Jordan. Their rivals admire them at levels some players will never reach. Lebron as well.
#RIP
Real shit im from Detroit but a Spurs fan too
I always give the Spurs the props they deserve. Those series were really the NBA Finals
Matt Barnes is on God one of the best interviewers I have ever seen. Not just sports, like as a pure interviewer he is going to be one of the GOATs!
He needs to work on flowing into questions better. Have key points to fall back on but try and have more of a seamless conversation. In saying that, they have something special here and I'm glad they're doing it.
Yeah I totally agree. It seems like second nature to him, probably a lot of preparation.
Kobe thinking you should have won the MVP is more prestige than actually winning the MVP award
Progressive Viewer Yea.. Stephen was like "that's all I needed to hear"...

He was just talking about how much he loved to watch his daughter play and now they both die

I'm watching this for the first time in 2023. And it still fascinates me how much I can learn from Kobe. This podcast is forever❤
Same broo!!! Same!!!
Gay for putting a heart emoji
It doesn't even seem real ... He was one of those rare athletes that you could listen to talk about things other than sports. I feel privileged to have watched him play in his prime. Watching him play on TV doesn't even convey his intensity. Yet off the court, a warm greeting individual... he will be sorely missed ... Mamba Forever
Me too bro

Hearing him talk about his daughter is sooooo.....🥺🥺🥺🥺
A few things I picked up from this if anybody is Interested:
• Kobe’s confidence wasn’t a delusional type of confidence, he knew he put the necessary amount of work in
• Kobe would recognize the talent in others, respect where respect is due
• Recognize the areas you are not comfortable in, and get better in those
• Kobe would seek knowledge. Talk to people you are interested in and think might know something
I agree. Well said
Respect for everyone at keeping this at 81 likes.
Every successful person I've ever talked to says the same thing. Communication with those who are doing what/where you want to get to.

I love that Kobe didn’t do typical media stuff for Retired players when he stopped playing basketball (podcast on the game, sitting on a panel breaking down every game with current players, etc.).
He was Kobe.. he had to navigate a new course and set a new path.
Writing books for kids
Won an Oscar
Coaching kids
And so many more projects he was probably planning that we’ll probably never know about.
Paulo Coelho had come out and said he was deleting how far they had gotten in a joint venture of a new book because it was senseless without him now (the day of his death). I wonder how much more we would have seen from him.
RIP Kobe ❤
They took the bean too soon bruh, everyday I miss him knowing he could’ve been so great outside of his basketball career. 💜💛😂
Ron artest and Matt Barnes used to be huge rivals of Kobe. Then they play for lakers and they became one of the best friends. That tells you something
@Mamba out Kobe was the one that Requested they go out and trade for them two!! They gave him hell everytime they played him!!!
The Jones Family I guess you know rob pelinka and Mitch kupchak personally good for you
@Mamba out wth are you talking about??
I would never let anybody disrespect Kobe in my presence, ever” bought me here

I agree that the Jordan interviews are a must watch but only because they are so rare! Jordan has done only three interviews the last decade, one with 2kSports, one with a cigar podcast (since he loves cigars), and one with Good Morning America! Kobe’s interviews, on the other hand, are more reccurent but he gives a lot of takes and history! Got to respect that!

@@Luminous03 Smush Parker has been lucky enough to reach the NBA playoffs in his lifetime cause of Kobe
What makes Kobe a real champion is that he actually said: "If you're crazy enough to F with me, you're crazy enough to play with me"
Instead of surrounding himself with yes-sayers and friends, he actually tried to toughen his squad up with people who dared to question his authority and were not afraid to deal with him. Thats not very common for a 5 times champion
This is so true
