From across the pond, great podcast! Rory made a point about how Cameron has an advantage in that he doesn’t have a constituency and won’t be called in for a vote; thus, he will be able to travel for the Foreign Office. That brings a question to mind. Why, under the British parliamentary system, are all the cabinet officers members of Parliament? In the US, if a congressperson is chosen for the Cabinet, they give up their congressional seat. It would seem to me to be very difficult to juggle the requirements of being in Parliament and the requirements of being in the Cabinet.

This is explored in (for instance) a book called "The Myth of Left and Right: How the Political Spectrum Misleads and Harms America", which essentially argues that that ‘left’ and ‘right’ do not name coherent worldviews but coalitions that bundle a largely arbitrary set of issue positions that are highly variable and unstable across time and place.
I laughed when Cameron's experience was put forward as a plus and then there was mention of his early job as adviser to Lamont where the country was nearly handed over to George Soros. Cameron's judgment damaged a lot businesses and individuals.
I would have a brooding, ruminating leader over a calm and cool one, any day. They may be harder to work with, but when the mood is a troubled one, which attitude is more likely to inspire creative, clever, but sensitive solutions? In other words, are we not ready for a more meritocratic system of government?
Whatever you think about Cameron, he's a grown-up. We've just had a succession of child-PMs showing off or staging public tantrums, so his appointment is a relief in a way. Though that may be an entirely false impression.
The issue with Braverman (NOT 'Suella') reminds me of Johnson's (the US Pres, not Boris) quote of inside the tent pissing out, preferable to outside the tent pissing in. While she is now outside and manoeuvring post-GE, she was inside the tent pissing in! Reference to tents is purely coincidental, honest!
I think Cameron does want to be PM again. He is so arrogant and full of himself ! If he had any humility, he would keep his head down after austerity and the Brexit shambles.

Can you detail Lex Luther's arrival in No 10, please?
Sunak must be really close to surpassing that proud achievement if he hasn’t done so already.
Cameron taking a shoeing for the referendum yet nothing compared to Blair and Iraq. Maybe people find Camerons mistake more digestable to challenge.
Possibly because it hit much closer home…
Are these YT videos the same as the podcasts? I listen to all of the Podcaats? So are these extras? I’m confused…
I laughed when Cameron's experience was put forward as a plus and then there was mention of his early job as adviser to Lamont where the country was nearly handed over to George Soros. Cameron's judgment damaged a lot businesses and individuals.
Does anyone know of any other English language political podcast hosted by former politicians?
Rory outshines Alaster by quite a factor.
I would have a brooding, ruminating leader over a calm and cool one, any day. They may be harder to work with, but when the mood is a troubled one, which attitude is more likely to inspire creative, clever, but sensitive solutions? In other words, are we not ready for a more meritocratic system of government?
Cameron must be more even handed regarding Israel and Palestine!
