Jaime Owens is super down to earth. I used to work as a contributing photographer for Transworld back in 2013, and I had sent them a photo to run in the mag, couple of days later I got a bigger offer from the skater's sponsor for the photo. I asked Jaime for advice, and he always put the photographers first, and told me to take the bigger offer so that I can keep more money in my pocket and keep shooting. It's the little moments like that that really showcase who someone is. Thanks again Jaime!
Chuck Katz is a photographer that doesn’t get his dues. He shot all those great SM/Venice 80’s Rippers for OJ’s/Hosoi Rockets. Amazing DTS, Z-Boy, SMA stuff. This is a great interview. Me as a dude from Tennessee, its so nice hearing someone with a southern accent involved in skateboarding as deeply as Jamie is. There's not many others. I grew up in East Tennessee and now live in Oregon. No one has a southern accent out here. I enjoyed listening to him because it reminds me of people from home 💚 shoutout to both Carolinas. don't get me wrong i love our dubs but Rodger has so much knowledge he should chime in from the back more often at least when its a certain people are in the hot seat

Roger has the "it" factor, and the knowledge that makes you want to listen to him. I have been watching this since day one, and only recently started commenting. I can't recall a single time Roger didn't know something, or wasn't there himself...why wouldn't you want Yoda teaching you?

Plus he had shot like 3 billion music videos 'til that point in time including "Praise You" in which he famously is the star of the video. 51:30 This surprised me too. I surfed with spike the other day in Malibu and I said hey spike what’s up I love your work especially video days and we ended up chatting for an hour and we shared waves and I was stoked for a week.
I want someone to make a Sandlot movie with Chris Roberts as the scary house the kids don't want to go near and he comes out and yells at the kids for skateboarding and then they find out that he SFSM's the courthouse stage and that he's pro and get him to start skating again and enjoying it. I'll mail the invoice to whomever makes this..
I think we should bring back the magazines!!! I literally never realized It was this hard to find skate magazines. I legit try to look in grocery stores for magazines never see skateboarding magazines.
When I was in highschool 09-13 I was a major skate magazine nerd and I would imagine what it would be like to work for a skateboard magazine as a career
It doesn't really make sense to buy ads to promote the show, the show is an ad already, in good way, it's good media. Tracking a campaign for specific merch or even channel membreships would make the most sense. You just have to get really good at tracking so you know if you're making more than you're spending. Though promoting the channel is good too, just more long term branding play than sales.
