The behavior is always the hardest. When you know they know it they gotta be goofing around. Haha. I’m a 1 st grade special ed para. I work with one Down syndrome 6 year old girl one on one. Oh the behavior. It’s gotten better for sure since kindergarten but sneaks back in a lot when not wanting to work and just do goofy stuff all day. Taking off the shoes. Playing with the hair. Being defiant when having to leave a room. Oi. Haha. Wouldn’t trade my job for the world. Or this kid. I love seeing the excitement of progress. Thanks for this
I used to have low functioning asthma but thanks to the luck of having people who didn’t give up on me I can do everything a normal person can so it makes me very upset when I see schools like las Vegas high school just put the kids on games and move them away from normal classes where they can grow while making sure to balance the two because the ed class is very important but it’s the way they complete give up on them it is basically just giving up on their future
Can you point me in the direction of any research on the hand over hand method please? I work in a school with a little girl of the same age with Down Syndrome.
You can use it and I know plenty of parents that do. But it really depends on if it works. There are others out there. If you are in NC there will be a special needs conference. You can also check out Life in The Mundane on TH-cam. She shares some ideas.
Thank you for sharing, showing that one of the most important qualities for supporting child with special needs is patience, and to believe that they can achieve; it just takes patience.
Thank you so much for your content! My son is 7 and I just recently pulled him out of 1st grade public school. I also do the so happy to learn curriculum and try to incorporate a mix of other things like dry erase tracing books and flash cards. I also work from home full time 8 hours a day so I struggle with finding my son activities to do while I'm working. I'd like for him not to be on the tablet all day long. But I also need to pay attention to my work. How much learning time do you put in each day with your daughter? Do you have a schedule for what you will do each day with her? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks again! 💙💛
I don't work from home, but for my son, he really enjoys Jack Hartmann on TH-cam. He has a ton of learning videos that also incorporate movement. I put a mini trampoline in front of the tv and that is enough to keep him entertained for a good while.
She’s brilliant

Thank you!! We are doing 1st grade too.
On that note, my son loves to be goofy too during lessons. I try not to get too upset, but it can be distracting.

Is abc Mouse a homeschool curriculum, or is there a better one for autistic children that is credited for home school?

I usually spend 1-2 hours with her on Wednesday -Fridays and 2 hour with her on Sundays and Mondays. She’s also in therapy 8 hours a week.
Very good🥰🥰🥰
Your daughter is darling. Is her name Eve or Naomi?
Naomi
Hello 👋
My son is also down syndrome
Can you please guide me to open a you tube channel
Please
Great! The best advice is to watch youtube videos on how to start a channel. That's what I did. It's very easy to follow. Good Luck.
