Thank you soooo much!! I have been watching a lot of your shorts, loving your dancing, your kindness and compassion. And also you showed me for the first time that i am not the only one who views dancing differently to what western culture taught me. I hated that everxone around me was saying and acting as if dancing is only for looking good qhen all i want from dancing is to feel good. So i enjoyed watching your channel a lot but anytime i tried to follow along i just couldnt get my core engaged. It never felt right and i couldnt figure out what to do for a month or so. Today i watched this video for the first time. Still didnt seem to work and you didnt say any magic trick. . A bit frustrated i decided to stop the video but continue trying while watching something else to distract myself. AND BOOM i finally figured out the feeling which makes the difference between just wiggling my legs and having my core engaged and i was so extremly happy and i am so thrilled to get started on practicing !!!!
Could you tell me where you put the most weight in your feet? I notice mine is mostly at the heels and it's kinda hurting my knees even though I'm only squatting slightly :(
Hiii. Love this. first, at beginning, I agree with you and love you for that. I appreciate that so much. Second, this hip shimmy I love. I have a few questions about it? so I see some do it with wider leg apart and some do it with legs a lot more closed. which would be better between the two and along with the neutral position? can you do all three in segments? like hip shimmy with wider leg, one video with more closed and well you did this one but if you want to do it again, that be great too. You are such an angel Nurjahan. I appreciate you so much and yes, always best to start off slow. I still cant get speed up but it takes time, practice so I hope you can do this again for fun but also do the videos about like this, 10 minutes long with wide leg, and 10 minutes closed leg or close to closed, to see how the look is and if it feels better. either way, it is super fun to do and a good workout. thank you.
I know this comment is old, but I had *too much* tension in my core. There's a short routine for digestion over on the Learn Somatics channel that's really helpful for relaxing the abdomen muscles.
Just did this workout in my kitchen, and I'm tired and sweaty and happier than I've been in a long time. ❤
Nurjaha always making the process of learning easier. I've watched others videos and that one by far its the best to beginners 👆
Thank you soooo much!!

The heels is correct. Your glutes might not be firing properly. Look into gluteal amnesia.
