Great backdrop, thanks! I just finished a book about the 107th Ohio Volunteers that were posted along the current water tower - "A THOUGHAND MAY FALL" by Brian Matthew Jordan.
Having only seen the ground in person in modern day. I have to say thank you for bringing my real experience of being there to the next level. Thanks for the diligent work on this.
I had Mr. Housch in 8th grade in 2007 and he was one of the best and most memorable teachers I had. Monday thru Thursday would be for classwork and group activities, on Friday we played a game where the class was put in teams and answered questions about current world events and facts (Teams by seating, changed a few times throughout the year). Team with the most points wins for the week. Going on a tour of the Gettysburg battlefield with Mr. Housch was the most profound field trip I ever had throughout my schooling. To be fair, I have always found the Battle of Gettysburg interesting, but being on site while hearing somebody so knowledgeable speak on the events that occurred where you are standing there is a one of a kind experience. We also had another memorable trip to DC but the Gettysburg field trip was my favorite. "HOUSCH rhymes with BUSH" - A student made poster on the wall Thanks for everything Mr. Housch, Hunter
