    Every year on the date of Colleen Ritzer's death, the entire town of Danvers does a "Pay It Forward" day in her honor. You just do whatever you can that day to be kind to a stranger. Pay for someone's coffee, help out a neighbor... things like that. It's a nice tribute to her

    No one deserves to die horribly, especially teachers who dedicate their lives helping you. I understand how these teachers' students feel. One of my former teachers recently died suddenly and horribly. Even though I didn't like her class, she was really nice and always had a smile on her face.

    The story of Coleen Ritzer brought me to tears. She had such a warm, kind smile and looked to be the kind of person who filled the whole room with her bright personality. Truly a person with a big heart. The kind that is pure and true. She had an entire life ahead of her, but it and her shining light of warmth and kindness were both taken far too soon. All I can think is why did that boy do it? Was it a dare? An act to show off to/get the attention of a girl he liked? Such senselessness.

I have always been bad at math, getting F’s ever year, every semester. The only time I got a good grade in math was during that time period he was teaching at my school. I got a C for the first time. After that, all F’s once again.

    I live near Danvers, MA, and remember when this happened. (The first story) Sentencing kids to adult prison time is def complicated, EXCEPT (imo) when an especially heinous, brutal rape/murder takes place. For example, I think there is HUGE difference between story 1 and story 3. If a teenager is capable of something like rape AND murder, he should never be let out

I wish I could've known her but sadly I only know of her from videos I've come across that tell of her passing. I DO agree with you Jack, that she truly could have & would have made a tremendous impact in the lives of the future students she would've had. Teachers like her are very rare unfortunately. There SHOULD be sooo many more educators out there like her. My heart goes out to ALL who love her. Make no mistakes about it, she definitely left behind a legacy all her own. As always, another great video!! Personally, I think that it’s insane that these people could be out on the streets again after a few short years!! If they’re capable of committing murder at the age of 14 or 16, does anyone actually believe that they can be rehabilitated in two years? Or even four years?? Not bloody likely!! There’s something wrong with these people! Something that a couple of years isn’t going to fix! Or some anger management classes! So what happens the next time something takes a downturn in their lives? They kill someone else?? So then we have a murder that could have been avoided; a person has lost their life because it was cruel and unusual punishment to put a murderer in jail for a significant amount of time, because they were so young? I’ve heard that once you take one life, it just gets easier or, they get such a thrill out of it that they need that rush again! Until recently, someone could get 50 years or LIFE for a little marijuana, but kids shouldn’t be held responsible for murder?? Somehow that just doesn’t balance out for me!!
    And, for the record, I too love the longer content! I know a lot of people make shorts these days. I’m not saying it doesn’t take talent to do shorts, just that lots of people are doing them and not all of them are worth watching - some are actually pretty painful to watch! Yours are always interesting! And you manage to pack a lot into them!! The longer format allows you to tell more detailed stories, and I find that most enjoyable

    • @cottoncandiez8872
      @cottoncandiez8872 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with your main point but I'd like to point out that prisons don't actually rehabilitate people. You put them in there, lock them up, provide no classes, no therapy, rarely a chance to actually change their lives. It's very rare for someone to educate themselves and come out of prison a better person than they went in

    They all should be used as a specimen for most ruthless human experimentation (except last crime which Is accidental). Make them relive the endless horror and rethink their decision of killing the innocent. This is will invoke the fear, they won't die but experience endless inhumane pain their entire living life , in people who think about committing crime against innocent .

    I remember the Noheema Graber story! I’m glad the judge said “Nope “about them being tried in juvenile court”. Like with the murder Colleen Ritzer that was premeditation. They planned it.
    Now Nate? I don’t think anyone but Nate knows if he really meant to kill his teacher. And Nate knows it’s in his best interests to say he didn’t.
    I think Mr Grunow’s family deserves Nate being in jail for a long time, but I KNOW ( because I would want it as well) Nate’s mom wants her son out sooner. Maybe they should ask Mr Grunow’s family what they think HE would want. Would he want Nate to spend the majority of his life in jail.
    Like if I was killed by a 13 year old, I wouldn’t want him in jail the rest of his life. Not if he hasn’t done similar violent acts before my murder. Not if he has so much promise in his future.

    Noheema Graber’s story is so disturbing because I live fairly close and people say “nothing bad ever happens in Iowa”

    When you said "look behind you" I did look behind and I was my dad smiling at me and he shook my hand, and whispered into my ear "hell has plenty of room". He died in 2018, lung cancer

    3rd story
    I am a former correctional officer for the state of GA, I worked in a maximum security prison for a year and a half and another ½-¾ of a year in 2 separate medium security prisons. I wanna speak on the closing question of should a minor face adult consequences for making adult mistakes. And my answer is a bit divided, yes, murder is murder and should be punished accordingly, but at the same time from my experiences as a CO I've gotten to know many prison inmates who were incarcerated at a young age. While some regret their decisions, most unfortunately turn to a life of crime. So should a minor face adult consequences? The answer is in the circumstance. If it could be proven that death was not the intent then no, but of course if murder was on the mind then yes absolutely. Sometimes it's easy to tell the two apart, i.e. What was the emotional state of the defendant in the courtroom? Did they run and tell law enforcement immediately? Did they feel instant remorse for the deed? While on the other hand some people aren't exactly capable of showing emotions such as heavily autistic people or people who come from a violent upbringing. So did the punishment fit the crime for the 3rd story, I say no because I genuinely believe homicide wasn't his intent. 10 years sure that's fine.
