Rlaarlo are really bringing us some quality products. lets hope they can do a revised update to keep some of the muck out of the inside. Thanks for an awesome video .
Good review, yours was the 5th video I’ve watched of this release and the best. I had noticed from the very 1st video watched that the body was going to be a major garbage collector like any non-fender short course truck or rally car…..but made all the worse with all the nooks and crannies Rlaarlo puts into their designs. Kudos to you for being the first to make a point of bringing awareness to this design characteristic and for properly testing this vehicle.
Thank you for your kind words. Yeah the car is great overall not to take away credit from Rlaarlo but it’s basically a moving dustpan. Let’s hope for a fix from Rlaarlo . Thanks again
Maybe experimenting with one of those mesh chassis nets could solve the cut out problem? It may still run hot, but at least the fan won't get jammed up and cut out. Very impressive overall
Thank you! you are the first reviewer who properly reviewed the rally car in its natural environment. It never should have been released without integrated wheel fenders and chassis cover. So it seems that the spur and pinion are not fully sealed? on the Omni terminator there is a gap where pebbles can get stuck and I'm disappointed this weak point was not addressed in the rally version... Also appreciate you comparing to the Tamiya rally chassis. it seems this is slightly wider and larger tires so the Tamiya bodies are not a direct fit?
Thanks for watching. Yes the gap is still there unfortunately. The 190-200 wide bodies will need the additional option parts to fit accurately. The parts are listed on the Rlaarlo site. Basically shorter A arms, dog bones and CVD and turnbuckles. You would probably also need the body post kit. Wheel hex is standard fit though. Stock wheel is slightly larger than tamiya
@@RC-Expats-HK Thanks for explaining. I wonder how this would impact the handling...I hope the body post kit will fit standard tamiya body mounting holes without any modifications. I would prefer not to drill additional holes in my beautiful rally bodies! I still use my xv01 which I love so was hoping this would be a good alternative.
Great video! I wish a company like Scorched parts would pick up making things for Rlaarlo...if they keep kicking ass with all these late releases it could be a possibility! Rlaarlo, Arrma, and Redcat have been killing it this year, but this car excites me more than any of them!
You’re spot on. If those third parties started making upgrade parts for Rlaarlo that would be awesome. But upgrades made by Rlaarlo themselves are pretty good too. Thanks for coming back and as always appreciate your continued support mate. 🍻
@RC-Expats-HK i wouldnt complain at all if they just started making all the upgrades they could think of for their cars! I have a Terminator and bought nearly every upgrade Rlaarlo has for it and every single one of them are beautiful and worked perfectly! My biggest complaint with these cars are the tiny screws. I wish Rlaarlo would come out with a better screw upgade kit for them. Lol sorry...I will zip it!
Not at all. And definitely not the first time to hear that. I’ve stripped a few of those tiny screw’s myself and it is annoying. At least they used hex hardware, even if it is tiny slightly soft ones. Agree with you…
A very well done review my dude! Lov’in what I’m seeing on this car , the detail is impeccable and the build quality is, A++, but the gripes you mentioned should be not only addressed, but also responded too by Rlaarlo. They are so close to hitting a bullseye 🎯 with this rig that it would be shameful not to make some immediate changes or at least maybe a modular “snap on “ fender/chassis enclosure to not let the debris ruin the fun. And no, a clear plastic cover like Kyosho and mjx offer is not the solution, as those covers don’t help much. Take a close look at how Armma did their Grom cars. Those cars do a great job at sealing out debris. Like I said , maybe some inner shrouds could be made to snap onto this existing chassis. Something to buy from Rlaarlo after the fact, or maybe Rlaarlo could design a retainer that can be mounted to the body shell. Something for them to ponder on. Other than those few shortcomings, this thing hits the mark dead center. Great job Rlaarlo, and I hope you are reading this. I think this car, the new Traxxas rally and kyosho’s mk2 Datsun are the “ralliest“ Rc’s out there. Even Kyosho with its clear cover couldn’t keep the rocks out. I’m sure Rlaarlo can dream up something that will work. All the best to you brother. Well done review💯😎👍🏻😮
looks great. I shall put a chassis net on mine. double right tap changes your indicators I believe. FYI if you turn your throttle trim down a notch or two it helps with the terminator's excessive brake force...
Double right tap turns on hazard lights. In manual it says triple right tap to turn of turn signal completely. Although I could not get that to work …thanks for watching 👍🏼
😂most polite rally driver 😂 appreciate the honest criticism as usual. After taking my terminator off-road 1 time all the bearings seized up. Seeing how this is basically the same car I knew it would struggle on dirt. I think Rlaarlo missed a great opportunity by not adding rock shields in the wheel wells. I would have preferred them to skip the lights and MAYBE even the clippless body and put that money into shielded bearings and a proper dust cover. Leave an empty light bucket so we can add our own. I think if they made this a true off-road rally car and still kept it under $300 they would dominate that rtr off-road rally market. That being said I guess I’m nitpicking. This looks like an awesome street rally car. This will probably be the next rc I buy 👍✌🏼
You’re absolutely correct in all points . It is an awesome product overall and drives like a dream but dusty roads is not its best friend at all. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
You always do a great review. I was off by $100 dollars on the top price😂 The the other Manufacturers in this market want $300 - $500. I did see Amain has reposition its Imported Maverick brand Rally at 249.00. Last time i looked it was $299 i believe. Traxxas sent out an email today Advertising thier VXL Rally ST with all HD parts for $429. I will certainly get the Rlarrlo carbon one. ❤
@@kevincain6843 thanks mate. You always leave great comments👍🏼. Too bad on the price guess and better luck next time. The carbon one is a great choice but both versions drive well. Carbon one more punch and top end speed obviously. And some cf upgrades. Thanks again and appreciate your continued support.
@@RC-Expats-HK Will probably get both or Carbon and a roller. I want to find a track or make one. I figure the carbon will do well on it if i can find the widest and smoothest trail.
Looks good, I was thinking to get the metal version for the added weight, as the model looks a bit light weight in your video. I really like the CEN Racing 1/5 models for their weight and realism in motion. It looks like the chassis are the same for either carbon fiber or metal version, only some parts are the difference plus the gears. Nice driving on the dusty road, get some more opposite lock sliding shots next time!

Other than electronics all else is the same . Thanks for the tip on the sliding shots! Thanks for watching I hope whichever you get you really enjoy it.
@@RC-Expats-HK Unlike the AK917 I'm not sure I can justify paying the extra $ for the carbon fibre version, I recall the AK917 carbon fibre version added backfire exhaust lights as a differentiator to the metal one, did they do the same with this model? Opposite lock power slides around corners is what rallycars do, so I expect no less from these models especially with the power on offer, and the precise control from digital radio🙂
@ both versions have the backfire light on the exhaust.. I’ll try harder to get better shots for you next time. Quite hard to drift and shoot footage at the same time but your opinion is duly noted. Cheers
Hilarious intro 😂 I love how it handles cornering, really well planted and no traction rolls. However, the downside debris being flung into the electronics ouch. Wish they made inner fenders or they can offer an upgrade by creating a poly carbonate inner fenders which we could install it on the tower shocks
Personally, my number is '68' (I use that on all my bashers & race vehicles having numbers). Hopefully, either Rlaarlo, or some 3rd-party, will release inner fenders.
