I think most Profit will be generated directly on the eex. You need to be regristrated and need 50K€ to get Access. Is it profitable!? I dont know but i'am thinking about trying to get an Account. The regular market is manipulated. Ive 5 electric cars and received Cash the last years cause of the THG. But the prices dropped from 400€/Year to 80€/year BUT basically the prices on eex has to rise because of the regulation by the EU which is giving out less certificates over the last and upcoming years. Someone is making big money. But not the private Person.

Krane, the company which issues the KRBN etc, has one that focuses on Europe called KEUA. It just started back in October, but appears to have gone up more quickly than KRBN in the past few months - just like energy prices in the EU.

There is also a spot option in Europe called CO2 from HANetf. Tracks the price of Carbon EUAs with the underlying being Physical Carbon EUA. Only spot Carbon product on the market-no contango, interest rate drag issues

WisdomTree also has two European carbon ETNs on the London exchange. Not the true certificates though, but some derivatives offered by one or two banks.

Carbon credits are dumb. The best idea I’ve heard is to just add five bucks per ton of carbon when oil is sold or something and that’s it. Otherwise you have rich people getting richer through carbon credits and small farmers get bent over and screwed. Like the U.S. pushing ethanol into all gas for instance seemed okay but it destroyed millions of acres of pasture to grow corn. Now it’s like oh let’s pay farmers to undo the mistake the government made. What a waste
