- The Wilds welcomed a female southern white rhinoceros calf born in the pasture during the afternoon of Oct. 5. The calf is the second fifth-generation white rhino to be born outside of Africa-and both fifth-generation calves were born at The Wilds.

Baby rhinos are so stinking cute! Made me smile! Such a precious little baby calf! Loves his mommy and mommy showing him off!

At first glance , Rhinos look scary because of its horn. BUT, after staring at it closely, I noticed rhinos have very " gentle" facial expression. They are indeed, a gentle giants. Hope they multiply due to poaching!!!

The Wilds is a reclaimed strip mine area of 10,000 acres in eastern Ohio, USA. We dreamed that if it could be created, it would become an ark where endangered species could be supported. That dream is now real, and this little rhino can now frolic and live a life without poachers. Multiple zoos and faculty from nearby Muskingum University have made this all happen.

A rhino with it's horn. This was in 2017! It's probably dead now! I think it's great how the little one manages not to trip over it's huge feet!
