Wonderful as always, Jasper. As one who remembers the era, at least as a kid, this gives me a sense of nostalgia and optimism - even though it was a complicated time. There was a lot to be anxious about, from the Cold War and the Reagan regime to getting out of high school, but we had this idea that we could still make a difference through new technologies and new points of view. In a way, we succeeded - though there's always and still much more to do. It's odd how this track does it without any words, but it conveys that quiet assurance of better days, a sense that we could mature as a united human race, that we (sometimes) had back then.
How do you get that lofi feel with your sounds? Is it the bitrate you render at or something because my own chillwave tracks can't seem to get that sound.
Not sure which sound you're referring to. You should always render at a high bitrate though. I think it's just the little things that add up to make a lofi sound like not having too much high end, detuning your synths slightly, maybe add some distortion and using basic wave shapes
