Honestly, you can tell this was a license the devs *wanted* to make by the love and care put into it. Even if Konami lacks that same mindfulness of their own IP.
Dracula truly feels like a conglomeration of mechanics in a way that works. However a lot of people argue wether or not he should be in because he doesn't count as "horror." While you could argue that Castlevania is horror, it makes more sense to say it isn't. But a lot of people never really saw DBD as a horror game. If DBD was more of a horror game it would've made more sense that Dracula was not the Castlevania but an original killer based on Bram Stoker's one instead. Me personally, I see DBD more like a Smash Bros situation, a love letter to all things horror without ignoring weird quirks that come with the genre, like the action horror or comedy horror subgenres. Anyway it's a good and fun chapter, feels like we've been eating good ngl.
It's actually heavily implied that Bram Strokers Dracula is (mostly) canon to Castlevania with just a few minor changes. Castlevania has always leaned into more Gothic horror than more traditional horror.
Fun fact Castlevania was the literal actual inspiration for Jojo's part one according to Araki himself, this franchise used to be massive until... It wasn't. Damn you Konami.

This chapter justmakes me sad when I look at Belmont, his perks are that of a hobo breaking into your home, the game already has grenades, traps and bombs yet he couldnt get anything new made for him.
My biggest dissapointment is Eyes of Belmont, having the least amount of possible synergies when its supposed to have alot of synergies...yet it doesnt because "time based aura reads only", meaning perks like object, kindred or wiretap, does not work And even if you use a busted fogwise combo, fogwise's aura read doesnt stack, making the whole perk so pointless, might aswell only run it with dark sense and never again :/
I find it interesting they went with Curse of Darkness Trevor/Dracula instead of anime Trevor but - who knows why, and also I get that's a very niche Castlevania lore tidbit. But yes Trevor would absolutely freak out at the sight of a flashlight.

We have survivors bash killers with the locker, endure hits by sheer eill, throw grenades, place bombs and traps and then theres Belmont a hobo who breaks into your home and robs you then runs away
The Bat form is not only useful for patrolling, but it's also a good way to keep chase with survivors despite the vision loss. Especially since if you want to use Predator, the scratch marks will be more noticeable. Also, combine that with Medusa's Hair add-on perk to Hinder them when teleporting to a vault makes them Hindered, a combo that really hits them hard.
An interesting perk to try if you like using the bat form to get close to survivors before starting a chase might be Predator since it makes following the survivor scratch mark trail extremely easy. (Predator can be fun on Spirit for the same reason.) Basically just follow the trail until it stops or you hear them next to you and swap to human or wolf form, whichever you like playing as more in a chase.
Dominance should block the chest + totem when halfway through cleansing or blessing 8:49 this perk should work like surveillance and show opened chests in yellow
I’ve been playing him so much i love him by far my favourite killer i just got his fully bloodied outfit too i think it’s the best one in game his eyes turning blood red is just perfect
Castlevania lords of shadows 2 is one of my favorite games ever, such an awessome and pretty power fantasy. Was kinda dissapointed we didn't get any crubs of it in the chapter. But hey, prideful vampire aristocrat is just as great.

To be honest, I’ve noticed a lot of castlevania content coming out recently. First there was the anime, then a crossover with dead cells, and now dead by daylight. Honestly I could see konami pushing crossovers to try and get people back into this series, which I’m fine with cuz its a pretty cool series

I would personally recommend using trail of torment combained with third seal on only wolf bulid, its fun when survs cannot see each other nor your terror and red stain plus it counters most used by survivor perk Windows Edit: aslo third seal hides generator yellow aura that trial of torment does

I run Dragon's Grip + Insidious, the Wolf form is incredibly good at hiding near generators, with very few maps giving bad camo (Eyrie mainly)
