1 question please. According to the bible there were several problems in the church we know from all the letters written. Even the Lord speaking in revelations to the 7 churches. My questions is why is there no issues with tithing. I guess a second question must be answered too. We are taught how to follow Christ and the disciples live a separate holy life. Why do they not teach tithing? Thank you for any answers. I appreciate it and the teaching here

Otherwise, he would have had to do a lot of explaining why they didn'tpay tithe with money. You either teach this subject correctly or it's best to leave it alone. Can you give Biblical answers to the questions I asked or are you going to just blow me off like I'm a heretic?

Ask God whether or not he wants you to tithe. Some people dont want to ask Him that because they might not want to hear what He has to say. I started tithing 40 years ago, and Never did I give to get, I did it because I wanted to. I tithed for about a year back then and around that time I wasnt fully surrendered to God and I got mixed up with the wrong person, I let him talk me out of tithing and everything went wrong, and I mean everything. Before I met that person God poured out blessings to me non-stop, but after I got with that persons and stopped tithing everything went wrong. A few years later when I left that person, and I had grounds btw. I moved to another city and started going to a Pentecostal church and having bible studies every Sunday. The subject of tithing came up. One of the persons giving the bible study asked me if I considered tithing, I told him I cant afford to tithe. He said You cant afford not to, right then and there I decided to start tithing again, the very next day I had $200 stolen from me, out of my house. I still gave what I had left. I struggled for awhile, but I said all that to say this is, God still took care of me during that time, and I will continue to pay my tithes. Thank you Lord Jesus.

Stop being foolish. Go pay your power bill with food. Go pay your car note with food. It is amazing how simple minded some of you people can be. Did they have banks back then? No they did not. Do you own a farm ? And if you do does every one own a farm? The world we live in now does not work like that.
In the 1700,s people did not really need money
They cut their own trees and built their own log cabins
They hunted their food and raised crops. They also made their clothing from deer skins etc.
They did not need power companies because they built their own fires. They did not need gas because they rode horses. In native American society money was not present yet your status and riches were determined by your horses.
In a society like this of course the tithes and offerings would be food and animals. But even in Pauls day the Romans and Greeks functioned off a money system and because the Romans ruled most of the then known world money would become more popular.

If you were poor, you were given a portion of the tithe every so many years by the Levites, not in churches today they are expected to pay a tithe. Around 18:35 is clearly spiritual abuse. “When your car breaks down, when your house burns down…” people should have got up and left at that point.
The reason the text of the Bible he is referring to isn’t quoted is because it doesn’t support his interpretation. For example in Genesis 14:18-20 Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer. How do we know this? Look up Hebrews 7:4!
A one time tithing from the spoils of a slaughter. I guess if you find yourself in that situation you can give someone a tenth?
And someone else already pointed out that Jacob didn’t seem to make good on his promise.
So much for pre-law tithing. As far as the Law of Moses goes, where is the tithing specifically on wages? Both Dueteronomy and Leviticus mention paying wages the day of work but never an instruction to tithe on said wages.
The tithe in those contexts is always the livestock or produce. Why? Because the Levites had no land. And similar to today, wealth was measured in ownership. Owning land and livestock was wealth and those who did supported the non-land owning Levites.
We find in the history of the early church there was also no tithing on wages. 1 Tim. 5:18 doesn’t say the laborer deserves 90% of his wages. He deserves all of his wages.
We see no practice of monetary tithing in the Bible. It was several centuries before Christianity adapted tithing to support the priests.
While building up this pyramid scheme, I wonder if he considered the writings of the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 9? If the right to support a preacher leads to financial rewards and not giving tithes leads to car crashes and house fires, why did Paul boast about refusing any due support?
And why didn’t Paul call it tithing?
And why did Paul think that asking for such support could hinder preaching the gospel?
I get that these things might make a few people upset. But you should be more upset that this guy is treating God like a mafia boss and that if you don’t give him money, he is going to maybe make some bad things happen to you.
Don’t give your money to this man. Take your family on that vacation. Buy something nice for you or a loved one. Donate to a meaningful charity.

    • @s8327
      @s8327 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ah so he ignored Paul’s statement in 1 Cor 9:15-18. Not surprising.
Jesus speaking to Jewish people in the second temple period before Christianity started is also not a proof that Christians in the First Century tithed. In fact, if we believe that narrative in Acts 2 they couldn’t have tithed because they sold everything and had all things in common.
In fact, in the narrative of Acts there doesn’t seem to be any tithing and when the question comes up as to what Laws the gentiles should follow Tithing isn’t mentioned (Acts 15:19-20).

The Pastor is very misleading in his reading of the Word. Please read for yourself. The "tithing of all' that he brings out is not accurate. God is wanting tithing of their harvest of the land (Crops and Fruits) and of their cattle. God never wanted their Money. If you are going to read it read it correctly and then explain it correctly!!! ... Offerings was never money either in what God was talking about in Mal.3. The Hebrews had only 5 Offerings that they had to observe and none of them had anything to do with Money... so why does this Pastor bring it out this way? When did God change the rules from things that He wanted them to pay were from items they raised from the Land, to Money?
