Man, I owe you a beer. Struggling for an hour, I didn’t think of disengaging the bar on both sides first before trying to wrestle it out. Never had to do that with other bands. Thanks again, you made my afternoon
Excellent method! Removing the spring bar from the clasp allowed me to put the watch face down on a soft surface, which made it much easier to keep the watch stationary while disengaging both spring bars to remove the bracelet. Thanks for sharing the tip!
Thanks for the video. I had a hard time getting my Longines HydroConquest auto bracelet off but your video give me the visual of exactly how each side pops out. I had no luck with the tweezers but was successful with a single pusher. I replaced it with the Longines blue padded leather strap w/deployment to reduce the overall weight.
That little trick of putting slight pressure on the end link totally made the difference. I was able to get a bracelet off that I've been trying to do for the past week. Thank you for the great hint. Btw, I never got frustrated or needed to step away, but I still had a couple of Whiskeys in celebration : )
Thanks for the video. I was doing something similar, but only pushing one side while trying to disengage the other side of the spring bar. Got fed up and stopped. Ready to try again. Thanks again.
Thanks a buch man... I almost ended up scratching every bit of the lug area before I found this video of yours. That push from the back tactic worked flawlessly. You're great.
Thanks for a really helpful video. I’ve been struggling to remove the bracelet from an Oris BCPD for half an hour with no luck at all. I watched your video and got it out on the second try, which is a whole lot better than I’ve been doing.
This video is the best. I was struggling with my bracelet for 1 hour. Clicked the video and before you even started talking I was able to remove the bracelet! Thanks!
I know this was posted years ago, but I used your advice and got my bracelet off and replaced in 2 minutes. The most important pieces of advice were to first disassemble the clasp, then to put pressure on the back side of the end links and loosen one end of the spring bar at a time. Thank you!
Yes, THANKS!, for this calm -- and calming! -- tutorial. It's so good, and encouraging, to see you succeed with the removal in just one "take". Good for our mental health and confidence... . Granted, you bring considerable expertise to the task, and make it look easy. Thank you for sharing this. I'm removing -- trying to remove! -- the bracelet from a new watch, to swap-on a leather strap instead, which I find more comfortable. The tool I have is not the best, and I've had to modify it (narrow it by filing) to fit the opening in the bracelet to get a grip on the spring-bar ridge-rings (or whatever to call them). Here goes! (after watching your video again... ). Kudos!
I had great and easy success, again thanks to your video. I had both sides off in a total of 45 seconds (umm, maybe 50?). ;-) Thanks! The key was your tweak of pressing with the finger from the back of the attachment, while compressing the spring bar -- masterful! Mil gracias!, as we say here in the desert.
Often wondered about spring bar escape velocity as it flys across the room during a failed install. Glad I stocked up on extras. Haha. Thanks for the vid.
Very tedious job mate, as you explained and showed us. It takes patience, and shot or two as you advised. 😂 Thank you for your detailed instructions and guidance. Job done, cheers!
Honestly I've had a lot of practice. But I hope the video was able to help you out. Because honestly this can be a tough job to do at home sometimes. Take care
Yes! I’ve removed many spring bars from leather straps but my seamaster was making me crazy. The tip to apply pressure with your finger did the trick but still not easy. Thanks for the vid.
Lifesaver video. I'm used to take bracelets off but had a very tricky small vintage TagH SEL that refused to come off, Don't have a spring bar tool that fit the tiny space this has by lugs but a safety pin worked once I used pressure of my finger as shown. Thank you. Will def see what other vids you have
The good news... as timekr said, it took about four minutes for removal after watching this video. The bad news.....that spring bar jumped off my watch and was never seen again. Thankfully I have more. Thank you for the video!!
I love your calm and helpful explanations👍🙏Right now i have wicked a duct tape around a spring bar at a wobbling end link …just for testing (your corresponding video doesn’t allow comments). Can you make a video how they are fixing the links “after” the end links like the San Martins/Rolex classics ? ( I can’t find anything about it). Greetings 👋
Great video but I need to see you putting the damn solid end link back on! I don’t usually have a problem with watch bracelets but I really am struggling to put my solid end bracelet on. Please do a video, I cannot find one ? Cheers
It looks like it no longer comes with the watch. But I thought they still sold them in the accessories. It was a great tool so it would be a shame if they no longer offer it.
Great video, thanks. I bought a replacement rubber strap for my Invicta pro diver 26970 and tried to remove the steel band with the spring bar tool supplied with the rubber strap. In spite of this helpful video, I found it immensely difficult and after two hours threw in the towel. I'm not usually this cack-handed, so I was wondering, do you know of any special probs with this particular watch? I might give it one more try and if it fails, it's a trip to the jeweller's for me, tail between legs. Update, 24hrs later: I decided to try once more before taking it to a jeweller. It was done in seconds! I couldn't believe it after yesterday's blood, sweat, and tears. The secret does seem to be in keeping pressure on the end link with a little light wiggling. So thanks again, Ute Watch Co guy :) Your calm, patient approach was an example to me.
I am glad it worked out. Sometimes it can super frustrating especially with things that should be super easy to do. Just take your time and take a break if you do get frustrated. Take care.
Removing those with a standard springbar is easy once u know the tactic but there's some stupid jackass brands like TISSOT which uses a ridiculously bad design springbar where there's no gap for u to compress it downwards to remove the springbar/bracelet. On a leather strap it's easy because u can just have dental floss but on a metal bracelet with a ridiculously bad design springbar, that's ridiculous
The easiest way to do it is to push the bracelet endlink towards the watch case. Then push in each spring bar tip while applying that pressure towards the case. It does take some time to figure it out. Good luck.
I have one with a considerable curve that doesn’t like being pushed in from the end and because of the shape it will only push in from the back of the watch. The problem is as soon as you put one end in the hole the bracelet end link is squint and it jams because it’s made to such a tight tolerance. This means the bar won’t compress properly and the link won’t go in squint (one end first as you show in reverse here or in your other video). I can get it with a slightly shorter and thinner spring bar but then it isn’t very safe and the pin rattles in the holes in the case. I guess the only way is to compress both ends at once. Maybe if the lugs weren’t as long like the watch you use in your installation video, it would be easier?
Matthew the Tudor and Rolex's have a tight spring hole on the bracelet. So I personally recommend the tool Everest sells for it. www.everestbands.com/collections/accessories/products/spring-bar-tool
Tried removing a stubborn longines bracelet with all top of the range tools. Nightmare. Ended up scratching the watch. If you have a stubborn longines take it to a jeweller!
Remove it with this technique. Try to put a bracelet on with this technique, way more difficult (without scratching the watch or bracelet), so I have just purchased the tweezer tool you mentioned that we should not use. I’ll report back with my findings and just how many springbars I lose lol
The tweezers also have a learning curve. Not to say they aren't easier but everything you do has a learning curve and figuring it out is half the battle. Take care brother
I literally feel like I'm going to have a f****** stroke. I have removed spring balls before but never from a solid lug bracelet. Even after washing this I'm still struggling. I have to walk away.
And how the hell do I get it back in? :D I can't compress it enough to fit the entire springbar between the lugs but not in the holes. It's super frustrating. I think I will just boycott every watch that doesn't come with quick release.
Quick release spring bars are inferior. Here is a video showing how to install a tight fitting bracelet: th-cam.com/video/0vQmCtQGSf0/w-d-xo.html I hope it helps out. Take care.

Very helpful to have such a clear video with calm, straightforward instructions. Many thanks!
Thank you Ute Watch Co, I was able to change the bracelet for the straps , because of your video.

I am sure they would leave a mark in the sheet rock if to close.
The tip of putting pressure on the bracelet behind it is what I needed. Thank you.

Thanks for this - I couldn't get the bracelet off my seiko snkl23 until I watched your video :)

Don’t do this. You will damage your watch. Use the tweezers. Definitely on a good watch.

Great to hear Nick. Sometimes removing a bracelet just is not as easy as people make it sound.
I have a rusted lug pin stuck in my Tag F1 and it’s pi**ing me off because it’s also slightly bent and I cannot get it out!
my god this is so painful to do, why they made it that way
They wanted those tight clearances!
Tried removing a stubborn longines bracelet with all top of the range tools. Nightmare. Ended up scratching the watch. If you have a stubborn longines take it to a jeweller!
You just have to remember jewelers are not perfect. They also can scratch a watch. Some of them do not have as much care as others.
I’m also stuck w longines....even when i push in the spring bar, the other side won’t budge :/
Thank you soooo much!!!

I can't understand why watch makers don't provide quick release bracelet as standard in 2021.
Because the current market of qr spring bars are inferiorly made. Not something I would ever recommend to anyone. The other issue is that watches do not have a standard size they use. QR bars come with only .78mm tips.
It should be a crime for companies to not have a quick release system!
