Two pigeons riding the tube get separated. One flies off leaving the other in the carriage who briefly stresses out about being abandoned before disembarking the next station and flying off to find his mate.
Second pigeon looked like they learned that “people standing up” means “door about to open”. Stayed near the door and stood behind that one guy ever so politely.
Imagine what is going on in their heads after stepping into an abnormally cold room made out of unknown material they've never seen before with color patterns and spots on them, the room suddenly starts accelerating slowly, then they hear a automated voice announce something in a complex unknown language they don't understand. Not to mention the room being filled with "aliens." Their fellow birds won't believe them.
Birds use earths magnetic fields to navigate so it's entirely reasonable they would be able to use the tube, perhaps they prefer to catch the train on windy days when flying would use a lot of energy.
I've been watching pigeons ride the rocket in Toronto and the London underground, and my brain can't help adding regional accents to the pigeons. The confused pigeon is mumbling in cockney.
Actually a pigeon never feel lost, they can feel the magnetic field of the planet, so even inside the line train they constantly know where they are. For exemple a parrot can get lost easily if it escapes its house, a pigeon will remember the feeling of his house location and even if you put it far away he'll come back to the location where the feeling is similar to its home, until he reaches it. Of course is he is stucked too many time in another location he'll start to make a new life there, and will come back to this place, so in the middles ages people had to carry the bird with them to send a message, but they constantly moved the bird to be sure he would return to his old home. Also they can remember few home-spot, a pigeon could rest a day to get food in a seconday home, deliver the message, and then continue to go home after that. These tricks still work today so it is still possible to send messages with pigeons in 2021. In Polynesia they use pigeons to carry medecines between islands, that's still the faster way possible without planes because they take off immediatly and doesn't require landing runway. They fly about 60 miles/hour and can reach 500 miles in a single flight.

Think about it, to the bird those words are nothing but foreign sounds that it understood had a meaning that it paired with a mental image. Not sure how people think pigeons are stupid.

Pigeons are very intelligent birds, but almost noone knows it. They can recognize themselves in a mirror and remember faces and persons, even when the wear other clothes. But when they panic they get stupid very quick. They still are and will be fligth animals. But I know for sure, they don't deserve the hate they get!
Im a Londoner and have watched them over many years, Thats the Circle line. I think it is easier for them to remember this particular line because it loops. They listen to the announcement and know which stop is their destination, In this video they didn't get split up. The second pigeon wanted to go to that stop! Absolute truth!

PIGEONS DESPERATELY NEED HELP !! 90% of pigeons in cities die in their first year of their lifes. The others don't live longer than 2-3 years. In nature, they can live up to 12-15 years ! They have nothing to eat, they are forced to eat trash and they freeze to death. Pigeons can NOT live naturally in cities. They are only here because of breeders !!

It is not feeling it. In fact a new study suggests that they are seeing the magnetic field in a similar way as headup displays in cars work.
