I am looking into doing this as a side job as I work Monday thru Friday but 2 of the hauling companies have told me their drivers can pick up but not deliver on the weekends. What has been your experience with making weekend deliveries?
I truly appreciate the kind words!!! Between myself and the other awesome TH-camrs out there, most topics are covered and have a different perspective from each! Weekend deliveries are kind of hard to find! Back during the huge Covid rush I believe all Camping Worlds were open for Saturday drops but that's not really the case anymore! A few dealerships have 24/7 drops but I'm not sure where they all are...
No, you just have to run it through the company you’re leased on with! It takes a little more time with coordinating it than if you could do it all on your own, but you don’t have any of the headaches with having your own credentials!
I'm with Indiana Transport. I believe their min. age is 25. I had a subscriber mention there's companys that have a min. age of 23... I can't validate that but it's worth a look around if you're not 25 yet!
Shawn, I was wondering what kind of mileage your Freight liner registered on the odometer at time of purchase? I was considering mileage vs maintenance costs, and wanted to ask a numbers/profit expert currently doing Haul and Tow, like I am planning on doing. Thanks Shawn.
Hey Steve! It had over 700k on it as a whole. The engine was rebuilt to some capacity around 200-300k miles ago and the owner before me, had a new/rebuilt transmission put in it when he got it. So far, it's just been little things that need addressed with it but nothing that's a huge time or money commitment! One thing I like about the H&T division is that 15% maintenance account builds up pretty fast because of the higher gross rev. for each trip!!!
considering this occupation now, thank you for this..fell in my lap! will go back and watch some of your videos.....so long as i can bring the dogs along....this is looking like an amazing viable option (if i can also do remote consulting for my original training, which is EHS and Management Systems/EHS Program development.) - yes, I'm a geek who likes to go outside! Hey Carl! glad I can help and you're definitely able to bring the dogs along! I'd say it has it's ups and downs, but I'm extremely grateful I was introduced to it!! You'd be able to for sure...It would just depend on how much of a time commitment the training required and how much you were looking to haul with RV Transport.
Just heard about the potential in rv hauling yesterday, watched your first video then this one. Really impressed bro! Do you have a Facebook I could follow?
I’d guess that how much you currently run, you’d be right at what I projected out in this video! Even more if you went the trailer route as a CDL driver!!
Hey Dewayne!! Hope all is good! It was good to talk with ya last week! That's a real struggle, for sure- finding a truck that's already built out for haul and tow. Good luck and just keep an eye out on Facebook Marketplace!!
Hey Sean Have you ever tried Bennett? How is the RV industry looking compared to the economy? Is it up down or about the same? Is it still something good to get into? I would like to do it but I'm not sure how the RV industry is doing right now. I live a couple hours away from you and I drive a semi truck for a living. I was wondering if the RV industry was still doing well because I don't want to risk leaving my current job for an industry that's struggling right now? Thank u PS: Keep up with the extra coffee I think you're doing just fine I love it
I haven’t tried them but have heard of the company! If I’m not mistaken they may have more of a robust back haul board? To be honest, I don’t have enough experience in the industry to know how it compares but I know I’m out on a load every week and the multi haul boards never really dipped down like the single pulls did a few months back. I feel it’s something good to get into but that’s a question each person has to ask themselves and access their situation along with the risks and rewards of the new endeavor! I think if you went with a semi and a trailer to do multi hauls even if it “slowed up” you still have a semi and a trailer that would give you flexibility on other options if needed! Overall I feel it’s doing well from what little info I have and just talking with others. But there will be set slow times in general throughout the year I’ve heard.
I was wondering about Bennett bcuz their are around the Waterloo area? A lot closer for me than Indiana. Even the semi truck driving industry can have its ups and downs even though there's usually a big demand for drivers. Thanks for the input! Scott
Good video! I have been watching your videos for a few weeks now. I use to do single pulls for a company out of Indiana. And also had my own MC and DOT when they were slow and for my back hauls or could take what was paying more. Was really looking into moving up to multiple units on a trailer but my home state were we were based out keep hiking our insurance up for real no reason. No tickets or MVA’s in the four years I did it. So I could afford to continue operating when more money was going to insurance company then into my bank account. My question is how does your company that gives you there DOT numbers handle your back hauls from central dispatch? Are they getting them or are you and do you have to get them to approve the pick up? And with your tow and haul are u running ELD’s. Thanks keep the videos coming.
Hey Tom! The company lets you use their credentials with backhauls on central dispatch and they take 15% off the top of it. It's kind of a pain because it does have to run through the office people before you're officially dispatched on it, so booking when the office is closed, is a no go. You book it and let the inventory dept. know you have a central dispatch load coming through so they can accept it and push it to you with all the paperwork you need. I'd almost guess you'd break even if you had your own credentials and com. insurance just for backhauls. With the multi-haul division and a trailer, that's where you're able to make the most money with this!!! Yes, I have to run an ELD since I haul more than just one camper and vehicles now. There's definitely a learning curve from manually entering your logs to using an ELD.
Thanks! Yep! I'm not pushing any marketing until I figure out what I want to do for a truck to haul it around but it's averaging a few rentals a month. Essentially breaking even each month!
Sean, great info brother!!! Got an idea, of I were to get a smaller gooseneck, say a tilt deck, etc etc, and about a 20’ ish...that could work as well. I could haul a smaller camper up top, and pull another tagalong style behind it. Then backhaul a car t whatever off of central back to wherever correct?
I'm not sure if you'd be able to make that work in terms of hooking a trailer up to a trailer though, but the way to make the most money is to have a trailer and do 3-4 campers outbound and then a few cars each backhaul!
@@WeekendTruckin hmm. I was thinking about that. Maybe just even a 30’ trailer, that way I could still haul two out and maybe two cars back? I dunno...doing some research!!!

Weekend deliveries are kind of hard to find! Back during the huge Covid rush I believe all Camping Worlds were open for Saturday drops but that's not really the case anymore! A few dealerships have 24/7 drops but I'm not sure where they all are...
Great video, don't you need Your own authority for back hauling cars or do the RV carriers your leased on with let you use theirs for that also?
No, you just have to run it through the company you’re leased on with! It takes a little more time with coordinating it than if you could do it all on your own, but you don’t have any of the headaches with having your own credentials!
Yoooooo!!! Check the new intro bro!! That's awesome
lol, I had a freelancer who's done some work for my gym/nutritional coaching program put it together!!! Sums up the past year or so! lol
Damn Sean did you do a double at Starbucks before you went on camera?
🤣🤣🤣
What company do you haul for? And what is the vehicles min age limit?
I'm with Indiana Transport. I believe their min. age is 25. I had a subscriber mention there's companys that have a min. age of 23... I can't validate that but it's worth a look around if you're not 25 yet!
I think he meant vehicles age limit ? Isn't it 10 years or so ?
That intro was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shawn, I was wondering what kind of mileage your Freight liner registered on the odometer at time of purchase?
@@WeekendTruckin Outstanding thx Shawn!
considering this occupation now, thank you for this..fell in my lap! will go back and watch some of your videos.....so long as i can bring the dogs along....this is looking like an amazing viable option (if i can also do remote consulting for my original training, which is EHS and Management Systems/EHS Program development.) - yes, I'm a geek who likes to go outside! Born in farm country and ain't afriad to put the shoulder to the wheel!
Hey Carl! glad I can help and you're definitely able to bring the dogs along! I'd say it has it's ups and downs, but I'm extremely grateful I was introduced to it!!
You'd be able to for sure...It would just depend on how much of a time commitment the training required and how much you were looking to haul with RV Transport.
Great intro
Presentation of numbers
When the pre workout kicks in.....

Hahahaha
Just heard about the potential in rv hauling yesterday, watched your first video then this one. Really impressed bro! Do you have a Facebook I could follow?
Hey! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I do not, everything I talk about in terms of RV transport is on TH-cam!
As always a very detail oriented breakdown. Thank you
Maybe it's just enough info to get a certain driver to re-visit the multi haul divisions!!!!
I’m still on the fence. I know the money’s good. Just keep weighing back and forth on the good and bad of both sides
I’d guess that how much you currently run, you’d be right at what I projected out in this video! Even more if you went the trailer route as a CDL driver!!
@@WeekendTruckin if I did it I’d run a 53’
Throw some hydraulic lifts on it to be a 4-5 car hauler too... 🤑🤑🤑
So what was the $1500 from gross to final pay out
Way too f’ing aggressive for my watching tastes! Not everybody in the world is purely money motivated.
Americans excepted.
To each their own, I guess! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Another fantastic video! How are you not a rocket scientist?!?😂
😂 you have to be smart to be a rocket scientist don’t you!? 🚀
In the same time I understand if you are afraid to call me because I’m going to take your money no worries it’s OK
LoL
That's not of the mindset I subscribe to, so all is good!
Great Intro!
Awesome new intro! Great help & instruction too.
Dude!
You remind me of Clodd on his overlanding channel 'Down2Mob'.
He makes every minute FUN!
Thanks for the compliment! I'll have to check that channel out!
Good info . I’d like to move up to the haul and tow but can’t find a truck . It was good talking to you the other day the yard
Hey Dewayne!!
Hope all is good! It was good to talk with ya last week! That's a real struggle, for sure- finding a truck that's already built out for haul and tow. Good luck and just keep an eye out on Facebook Marketplace!!
Hey Sean
Have you ever tried Bennett? How is the RV industry looking compared to the economy? Is it up down or about the same? Is it still something good to get into? I would like to do it but I'm not sure how the RV industry is doing right now. I live a couple hours away from you and I drive a semi truck for a living. I was wondering if the RV industry was still doing well because I don't want to risk leaving my current job for an industry that's struggling right now?
Thank u
PS: Keep up with the extra coffee I think you're doing just fine I love it
I haven’t tried them but have heard of the company!
Scott
Very true! And good point with the Waterloo part of things!
Good info 👍
...still doing the dumpster thing?
😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thanks!
Yea! I’d look at the Max length of a non cdl trailer just to maximize your potential earnings!
Most companies will not hire a gooseneck and the ones who will want a 46ft deck.
Bro I watch and enjoy your vids just curious how you do haul and tow w/o cdl which good I'm glad for you and would like to duplicate what it is you're doing if you have time would you care to talk please contact me
Hey man, thanks!! The truck is under 26k and campers are always well under 10k for both units combined. I think the heaviest I’ve been so far is right at 21k
