I have tried many sliders, and all of them give the same premise, "only slider you need" they are more expensive than this masterpiece as well. Without hesitation this single-handedly can both take on every single other slider on WordPress. This is the pinnacle of sliders. Period.

UPDATE (a late update, but none the less, an update!): So I did jump right in last month and was able to recreate my simple, 2-slide slider in less than 30min!! Woo hoo! And it actually looks better than the old one. There's hardly any learning curve (though I obviously have previous experience with other sliders.) This was the easiest "save" I ever had for a website. Much thanks to you at Smart Slider!!

So basically you could add that to your column and select the slider you wish to display there. Note: we offer a shortcode publishing method as well. I am a user of slider revolution and really like it as it allows me to achieve advanced website elements. Honestly though as of late their annoying licence key policy and few bugs when I update has made me look for alternatives. How do these 2 plugins compare?
Everything is good with this slider except there is no option for changing the arrows as I want. like if I want an arrow different design I can't import or add them I have to use what they have with the slider this is a really disappointing thing. Except for this, this is one of the best sliders out there. You guys should include this option. Waiting to hear.. what you think about this

By default the "fill" option is used which will make the image as big as it needs to be to cover the whole slider. This means that if the slider and image ratios differ, the image will be cropped. To avoid this behavior you could change the fill mode to "fit" or "blur fit" instead.

Love the free version so was happy to purchase pro version to enchance my site. I cannot get it to activate. It shows it's both activated and not activated and none of my pro options are working and the activate button is not disappearing and keeps resetting itself. The instructions to fix my errors are very involved and require coding based on your instructions. Those of us who are not developers need easier instructions. Messing with the code on the backend of my site is not an option.

For those who might also experience a similar problem in the future, this usually happens because of a browser cache that makes wrong files being loaded. Trying the activation in another browser or private browsing mode / clearing the browser cache should fix the issue.

Hi C.J. Those settings that have a small screen icon next to their names are Device specific settings. The device specific settings can be adjusted separatelly for each views. Other settings are shared settings, so making modifications in one view will affect all the other views. When having different amount of text on cards which are the same on two slides and putting a colour background the height is different. How can I make them the same height? Thanks

You could try to use the background of a Row instead, to have your color: smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1811-row Put down a Row and delete the 2nd Column, to just have one Column, to be the container of your text. Then within the Row, turn on "Stretch". That will make the Row fill up the available space, so in that case the height won't be based on your text, but the height of the remaining space.

Love the free version so was happy to purchase pro version to enchance my site. I cannot get it to activate. It shows it's both activated and not activated and none of my pro options are working and the activate button is not disappearing and keeps resetting itself. The instructions to fix my errors are very involved and require coding based on your instructions. Those of us who are not developers need easier instructions. Messing with the code on the backend of my site is not an option.

For those who might also experience a similar problem in the future, this usually happens because of a browser cache that makes wrong files being loaded. Trying the activation in another browser or private browsing mode / clearing the browser cache should fix the issue.
Hi how would I keep the same image ratios through each device view port? I am using the fullwidth slider and it croppes off the ends of the image as I scale the browser smaller.

My second question is, when I preview my slider on different devices do I need to revise my slider for each device, and will those edits be specific to just that one device or will it affect the view on the other devices? On the white bar in the preview pane it specifies a State and a Reason. What does that mean?

Those settings that have a small screen icon next to their names are Device specific settings. The device specific settings can be adjusted separatelly for each views. Other settings are shared settings, so making modifications in one view will affect all the other views.

Preview state and reason:
Above the "State" you can find a bar that you can use to preview the slider on screens with different size:

when you change sizes, the state will indicate the view that your slider currently displays and also tells you the reason why that view is being displayed.

Hi! You could try to use the background of a Row instead, to have your color:

Put down a Row and delete the 2nd Column, to just have one Column, to be the container of your text. Then within the Row, turn on "Stretch". That will make the Row fill up the available space, so in that case the height won't be based on your text, but the height of the remaining space.
