Concept: I don't need heated leather sunvisors, automaticly deploying ashtrays, and 75,863 other BS options. I did just fine with heater doors that were operated by cable connected to a knob. I actually know how to turn my wipers on and can dim my own headlights. I don't need 7 climate zones, or a headliner that doubles as a HD widescreen TV.
This seems like it was paid for by the auto industry. NOBODY said "ADAs are MANDATORY". Advertising is both out of control and wildly ineffective. R&D on ICE vehicles is stupid at this point, the total spent on engine R&D will never be returned in real-world benefits. There is too much bloat in the OEMs workforce, especially in the management ranks.
I wish Trump could do something to lower the cost, but I doubt anything going to change while He’s President. I miss the days where You could buy a regular brand new car for under 15 thousand dollars. Those days have since went and disappeared. 50 thousand dollars is the new thirty thousand dollars these days. Plus by the time 2050 comes a normal average car that isn’t BMW or mercedes-Benz going to cost 80-90 thousand dollars and all the Automakers will expect the people to pull out the cash for the vehicles.
You can buy a new Nissan Versa for under $18k, a Chevy Trax for under $22k, A Ford Maverick for under $25k, and many Japanese offerings under $25k. No, they're not $15k anymore as they were pre-pandemic, but again, it has been over 5 years since and new vehicles have much better safety features than ever before. So, it's not all doom and gloom - the reality is that a huge reason for this price inflation is due to an increase in the incomes of the upper-middle class and above. Simply put, many people have and make more money than ever before, but there are still affordable options.

The middle class has been driving their used junk cars till they drop and then some.
They don't have to compete with the rest of the world because of Tariffs.
They maximise profits for their shareholders at the expense of society.
What is a "price point" that a price or price range isn't?

@@Spocker93 Nissan discontinues the Versa. There are no ACTUAL entry-level Chevy Trax being built. You haven't checked lately?
