This video is from a multiplayer europa universalis 4 game where I started as the nation of Castile. Things go from sketchy to absolutely horrible in Iberia as Portugal turns on me and joins my enemies. Allying my enemies and convincing France to unally me. Can I hold versus 4 separate players? figure out in this video.

This is a game as Castile in EU4 a grand strategy game for the PC. Castile has the ability to form Spain at some point and get a huge power spike with +1 artillery fire and their shock damage received age bonus.
the nation of Castile is one of the strangest nations in eu4 multiplayer. In single player Castile is a pretty easy start, you chill until you get the Iberian wedding then blob to your hearts desire.
In most multiplayer mods, Castile starts with the Iberian wedding, which may seem OP until you consider that you have so many day 1 enemies.
Both Morocco and Tunis want to murder you and usually France will be opportunistic and attack you when you are most vulnerable.
This usually turns into a fight for survival as Castile fending off three nations on the start. The only nation helping you being Portugal. But what happens when Portugal betrays you? Well your odds of survival go from slim to almost impossible.

seriously though what benefit does Portugal gain..? If you go colonial you can be rich af- I've seen mp Portugal played by not even the most experienced player in the mp get economic hegemony by 1550, and if you wanted to be a land power *you should have just played Castille.*

This was perfect Karma. The backstabber is completely destroyed and the Maghrebi players get cucked by France because they were too greedy to take Habibi's deal. Proof that the universe does arc towards justice.

@@grahamturner2640 I said optimal didn't I? Not the only way to play, but losing the Dhimmi is not great. The tech boost and manpower and tax from the Dhimmi are very useful.

Stab hit is when you have over 50% warscore you can send a peace deal for half of the total warscore and if they decline, they lose -1 stability

@@LeoMajor1 its not necessary in single player because AI will usually accept peace deals. You can however use it to give an AI -3 stability

Devving, building full buildings in each province, stacking manpower modifiers, proper monarch point generation and usage. In vanilla it’s super easy to get millions of manpower, that Multiplyer game was in vanilla. Most multiplayer rebalance mods nerf these things since it’s really op and a bit stupid

You can't expect Portugal to always ally you. I never ally castille when I am Portugal.
Sorry but if you are not allying Spain day 1 as Portugal, you are most certainly a bad player. You can turn on Spain later with a strong timing if you are clever but right in game start, turning on Spain in MP will usually lead to your death, either by Castile himself, the berbers or France. If you don’t believe me, just watch some of my previous vods on twitch and you’ll see that Portugal always dies when he turns on Spain in first 50 years in competitive lobbies. ALWAYS

Just because Portugal "usually" allies with Castille doesn't mean they are backstabing when they don't do it. Also, none of the countries are Berbers as you referred to them. Only Tlemcen, and the three small countries south of Tunies are Berber. The Maghrebi countries you fought against are Arabian, actually.
