    I think it would be entertaining to see John and Chris go golfing together. Plus we'd then have more than one clip of Chris hitting the ball.

    after this 100 days end you should do a season 2! days 100-200 where you continue to build up your health. Or you could get new people to do it. I really don't want to see this series end so quickly!

      Zachary Whitney I like this idea! I love this series and I don't want it to end either. I would be happy to see you two continue or different people make this journey.

      Nightcrawler Jones It definitely is. My gym has some solid foam pads that velcro together for box jumps. You feel much better jumping onto those!

    • @sezzac155
      @sezzac155 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nightcrawler Jones it does. And yet I would be happy watching John and Chris do it until the rises fall over. It's not that I wish to see them get injured it's more to do with I would find it interesting how far they can go. This probably makes me a bad person because i would be lucky to make it to 3 or 4.

    Ping Pong is a workout if you do it right!
    Room too small. Net too low. Poor stance. Non-optimal grip. Negligible footwork. Inconsistent/non-existent use of spin.
    You should do a serious Ping Pong crash course episode!

      Original Arran I used to make this argument, until I found out that in China the term they use most is Ping Pong. They pretty much dominate the game, and I've heard a world champion call it Ping Pong, so I think Ping Pong is fine!

    I lost 40lbs in college primarily playing table tennis. I played several hour multiple days weekly, it also caused me to eat less and healthier to not feel sluggish. If you play it with somewhat proper stance, footwork and stroke mechanic it's a good cardio exercise.

    John, I noticed that while you were running on the treadmill you seemed to cross your arms over your chest a lot- this might be something to work on, as excess arm movement across the chest wastes energy and doesn't help drive you forward.

    Have you ever played ping pong? That shit is really tiring especially if you are playing back to back for an hour or two. Maybe not to the level of running, but an hour or two of playing ping pong with friends is probably the same as running for 30 mins. Ping pong will have you over heated real quick in a serious game its non stop reacting to movements and stuff.

      Yoga definitely counts as exercise! I know that after an hour of yoga, I'm sweaty and can feel the muscles that have been worked. If you do 10 minutes of yoga, that's called stretching. After 30 minutes, I bet you could feel the burn.

    • @PresidentNexus
      @PresidentNexus 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I think it would be entertaining watching them do couples yoga....

    • @lolpauve
      @lolpauve 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In terms of cardio? I wouldn't say unless it's extremely fast paced. I would say yoga is akin to strength training in that sense that yes, it is exercise, but no it doesn't raise your heart rate that much so I wouldn't count it as cardio. It's good to do but if you are looking to "burn calories" I would say no.

    • @ahkeelyu
      @ahkeelyu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, yoga doesn't count as exercise in the sense Dr. Carroll was talking about because it doesn't have a cardio component. Consider the examples he used: power-walking/light jogging and doubles tennis. It's a good idea to stretch regularly alongside exercise but stretching doesn't convey the benefits of exercise nor vice versa

    As a crossfitter, I would have to point out that crossfit is a scaleable sport and could be scaled down to fit any level of ability. While some, more experienced atheletes, would find 5 min fairly easy, I also workout with people 30 and 40 years older than me, who can't. They are still crossfitters and we do the same workouts, only in a scaled manner.
    Oh, and we don't have any 5 min plank benchmarks as far as I know.

    Heyy John and Chris and the other people who make 10 days possible,
    I'm hoping you'll read this comment. A friend of mine does poledancing, which a lot of people assume means stripping, when in reality it is a challenging type of dancing which requires endurance and strength and should be considered a normal sport. I was hoping you two could try it in 100days and maybe to the same to poledancing as you did with rollerblading.

    john you look like you are getting a decent ammount of exercise from ping pong because even if you don't move a ton you are making many small movements with your legs and torso when you adjust to meet the ball. not cardio, but still decent. kinda like a balancing exercise.

    I don't know anything about knowing what the right decision is and making the opposite decision in that moment. No, that wasn't me still binge watching Arrow at 1am with the jar of peanuts in my lap early this morning. Must have been my identical twin.
    I've lost 30lbs and gotten myself into a much better physical and mental space with lots of yoga, etc, since I started in November. But it's really easy to make those bad decisions. I figure they are going to happen. My goal is that the good decisions should just happen more often than the bad, hopefully significantly more often.
