Life Eternal is one of those songs that just makes me want to cry. I often end up thinking of Mum who died when I was younger. I think if Ghost ever played this when I went to see them live I'd be a sobbing mess.
Nice to hear that Hunter's Moon will be the next Ghost Reaction video! It was such an vibe when it was released, it was the first single of their album Impera and it got me so damn hyped! Can't wait for it
It's been five years since i first heard this song and i still cry like a baby every time i listen to it. One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded in the rock history. The song is the last track on Prequelle so it's about death of the one you love. When you listen to Prequelle from start to finish you are gonna understand since the album is a theme album based on the black death and when we come here to the last track there is no return. Or in fact there is and that is the pact he made with the devil earlier on the album for life eternal. But his love never made the same deal and dies. So the song askes the question what would you do for life eternal? Or just to stay alive. Many people prays to God every day that if you only let this happen I will be forever a christian but what happens if you instead make the same deal with the devil? My soul for that my wife would survive her cancer for instance. Or my soul for the exchange that my kids are gonna have a good life. What would you be willing to sacrifice to save the one you love? It's an very interesting question and as many of us are let down by God and suffers extreme pain in life the devils offer seems like a good deal but is it? Fun fact. The song was never played that night the video in Mexico was recorded. But they take the film footage and adapts it anyway.
The end of the second video shows the moment when Cardinal Copia (featured on the Prequelle album) gets promoted to Papa Emeritus IV. It was their last gig before lockdown. I love this song. It is simple, but it's been used at both funerals and weddings.

Unfortunately you’re mistaken, lots of new fans thought it was about him. (Not calling you new) but that thought grew in popularity among the fans, but the song has a whole different meaning. It’s just another song for the album Prequelle, hope this helped :)

"Life eternal" is one of the most beautiful songs in the Ghost catalog imho.. It brings a tear to my eye every time. As the song is from the Prequelle album, it has of course some sort of black plague relation, and I think it's about a couple standing together, knowing that they have caught the virus.. knowing they are going to die. "I feel your hands are cold".. "within your heart a story to be told".. then directly "This is the moment of just letting go", because the moment of death has arrived. Another aspect of it is the question being posed.. If you could live forever.. would you do it? "Can you hear me say your name forever?".. "Can you feel me longing for you forever?".. or in other words.. given the opportunity of eternal life, would you grasp it? Looking forward to "Hunter's moon" 🙂

Last ritual I attended this summer, the Tons Of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway, they rigged the Ghost stage without the curtain hanging in front, so you could see what they did, and how they did it.. The "windows" are actually huge flat screens that hangs by the short edge.. That way they can alter the image on the screens, or alter the "light behind" by showing a different hue or color. The church walls themselves are actually a huge inflatable kind of kids castle that are placed in front of the screens. When fully inflated they are as tight as can be, looking just like stone walls. When the ritual is over and they take down the rig, they just remove the air, and pack up the whole church wall like a huge over sized bath toy 😀 The backdrop images and screen graphics are actually made by an extremely talented graphical artist named Zbigniew M. Bielak. He does graphics for a lot of bands, including Ghost. He also designed the album cover for for their latest album "Impera". The special thing about him is that he hand draws everything. I think the Ghost song that burrowed its way into my brain the most other than this one would either be "Mummy Dust" or "From the Pinnacle to the Pit". Nice to hear "Hunter's Moon" is next.
