I dont think Digvijay is a green flag or have any love or respect for Ishita. He is a very clear headed person and calculative. If he wanted he could have break up with her very early on their relationship. He is just very articulate and strictly playing his role to be good on everyone's eye. In dome he blindly supported his girlfriend and at last just for the show he said those words for Ishita.
