Like what do you mean it was a social experiment, you still did the things you did and got paid for it, he’s still one of the biggest catalysts that escalated mukbangs to what they are today. I don’t understand the point of his supposed “social experiment” but to me it just seems like he was always capable of controlling his actions and not hurting the people he’s hurt but just chose not to so he could come years later to say “SIKE now you’re all the idiots for talking about the things I did for attention”

I 100% know what you mean by that. I've had a binge eating disorder almost ever since I have memory, tbh. I was probably 14 yo when I started to develop worrying binge eating patterns. At times I've managed to keep that itch at bay more steadily and others it has gone out of control. When it goes out of control, it's exactly how you describe it.
When you're eating those foods that trigger your itch, your brain numbs all the stress and worries that haunt you. Work, school, friends, family, life, self issues, etc. They are numbed. And it's difficult to break that pattern because the first steps are DIFFICULT. But if anyone struggling with this is reading my post, I promise it gets considerably easier the longer you stick with it. And a slow process will always be more sustainable and easier to maintain than pretending to fix all those issues in two months. It takes time, but it's so worth it.

It got called out with receipts that she was taking "orders" to do alleged feeder content, and getting paid thru a wish list account as opposed to cash transactions. Once it got called out, she's backed off a bit on the gross over the top indulgence. She was chugging cups of sauces, putting time limits of how fast she ate giant quantities of food, etc. I also feel that people were genuinely concerned about her health, as she was making videos eating fast food hauls for every meal. But I do understand how you don't feel that she can be compared to Nickacado Avocado, i do agree. I think it is slightly inspired, though.

The piece about overconsumption definitely hit a nerve with me. As a recovered functioning alcoholic, when I stopped drinking, I felt great for awhile. But then when I started to get depressed again, I started to fill my body with empty calories. When I had a meltdown, I pivoted to obsessively working out until I was severely underweight. My now husband encouraged me to get therapy. Once I found a great therapist, I realized that in my overconsumption, I was trying to drown out the pain of multiple past traumatic events. During the time I spent (three years)with my phenomenal therapist, I unpacked a LOT, mainly that I can’t out run, out drink or out eat my problems. I adopted healthy habits, and was good for awhile, but after I lost my therapists, I tried to cope as best as I could with love notes to myself, affirmations, resting myself, crying and purging when I need to, and treating myself.
It wasn’t until this video that I realized, I have more Bath and Body Works lotions and fragrances than the actual store. Not quite back at square one, but $hit, is it humbling ❤

Food is such a difficult topic tbh... You can starve yourself to death, you can also kill yourself by overeating.
Just like you said, it's hard to admit to oneself to have eating problems - especially if it's overeating, because food is necessary to live. If you go to food for comfort you usually don't see a problem with it until you get mentally better, or notice your body changing.
It's one thing to enjoy your food and eat as much as you want, and another to force yourself to finish ungodly amounts of junk to feel better
