I really want to play this, I've played ranger since beta and have been dying for a true "beastmaster" build, thematically, where you fight as a team with your companion rather then being "guy with bow and pet". Untamed giving you control over you pet skills to micro manage was basically the missing piece to make this sorta thing work but I don't trust myself with the roamer roll and It's really frustrating trying to play catch up skill wise with the rest of the playerbase. To say nothing about the margarine and toxicity that is ranked.
on paper, but bc you need to manage all pet skills it is a dps lose if you switch for the new pet abbilites to use or when using your own bc your pets don't auto apply any skills anymore... too much controll so dps lose
roaming isn't that hard to get started. just look at the map for fights, and gank them with your burst, then leave as fast as you can. if you are low health or have cooldowns, go decap a node and come back. it's actually fairly uninteractive because by the time they can react, you are already running away
Holy shit did I miss the Unleashed Ambush skills? They weren't mentioned in the showcase back then. I honestly felt like Untamed was the blandest spec out this expansion, but it seems like a lot of fun.
Is there a hammer build that still works? It seems like the cooldown reduction in this video isn't around anymore and Traversal having a .25 sec cast time ruins the blink combo
I am using your duelist mechanist build for 3vs3 and works so well, i was wondering if this build could translate good enough for that scenario? or would you tweak it a lil (maybe more surviability since is not a duelist...)
You and I have pretty similar builds for Untamed, I honestly don't get the hate for it, its really really versatile, with great team fight ability and you can make it extremely tanky bruiser. The fact people don't see past the "No AI" and think of the possibilities of combined burse with your pet is insane. Have you tried Jacaranda, roots, Lightning, into Unleased Hammer's 4. Its a guaranteed 1 shot on many people.
im sure there are tons new possibilities for pet control we havent thought of but largely people are not interested in creativity and stick to their soulbeast pets, so maybe when i take a deeper look at untamed ill find more pet synergies
I love the Untamed BUT... exactly what you said is what I dislike Anet didn't think about, we have a lot of pet utility now but unless we micro manage it the damage is worse than the one the AI would do AND THE WORST PART is that most of the pet skills doesn't count for our traits, I was trying a lot of combinations from the Pet CC skills and stuff like that to trigger traits and none of them seems to work. So... if Anet give us a subpar Spec that works well only if we care to micro manage our pet... at least let the pet skills to have more sinergy with our traits when used manually, that is the reason because as much as I love the spec and I am playing it a lot switching pets and stuff, I am waiting for Anet to "fix" that issue
@@Vallun Well it's easy to say that people just aren't creative, but as far as I'm concerned, classes like these don't go over well because only ranger masters or pvp masters can get the full effect out of them; for the average player that makes up the bulk of the playerbase, it's too many considerations to be able to play it at a competitive level.
Haven't played gw2 in awhile, but ranger was my main and this elite spec looks really good. But if it's anything like it was in PoF, it'll get nerfed so you have to play absolutely perfectly to do decently with it.
I knew this spec will be lethal as fuck in the right hands! But man you have 3 swap mechanics to deal with and very ugly snot coloured green effects...
I see that they've improved a lot of things with this E-Spec since beta, but the fact that you're fighting the spec with all the pet and weapon swapping as well as fighting other players makes this a big NO for me. It's too complicated for no reason. The sad part is, the damage output is not even close to what the other specs can dish out. If the complexity has a devastating damage as a result, then it's understandable, as it stands, it's lame.
Had been playing GW2 for 7 years. Learning from your videos too. Only mmo I played that long (out of many - 2nd was WoW with only 6 months). Ranger and Thief like in other mmos. I don't like very much what they did to both classes but it still somehow does make sense. EoD is different. That was too much even for me. This gonna end with every class using every weapon. So stupid. Good bye GW2.
When Vallun says its "Squishy", you know you are playing Glass mode
Val: *A lot of moving parts “
Me: **sees self out the door and rerolls**
so soulbeast it is again
Same lol
Really awesome commentary! That was a fun watch

Same love melee hunter and scew elitists play how you like :).
I remember the bunnythumper builds from gw1. War Machine used to absolutely roll with it
Yeeeees finally :) I hope it's good, I'm still not done with the story but having a blast so far

They were added after the 3rd beta i think
They were added after the first test and honestly saved the spec imo.
I quit GW2 a few months ago but I still enjoy your videos. Thank you :)
I'm curious if you can make a cDPS untamed
i too am curious but havent really tried yet

TAIL WHIP 💥💥💥
I'm thinking if these would be used in competitive as a side nodder

Love the video, could you do one for PVE pleaes.
check my EoD open world builds video
@@Vallun thanks 😊
Hammer rev will make a comeback, I know it !
untamed really that bad overall like everyone says?
no, they just are slow learners
No untamed is very fun, usually people complain cause they can't handle pushing more than 1 button lol
@@Vallun Ok awesome thanks a lot! Untamed sounded pretty fun but everyone was kinda hating on it ^^
@@gabrielsantini99 Thank you! Yeah I played it a few hours and its fun so far. Thats probably it^^ with the new control over the pet and everything :D
@@gabrielsantini99 It is true, having to push more than one button is asking too much of me.

there's a lot of stuff you have to do to make this spec seem OP but all harbinger has to do is press 3.
this spec can be good but is just so boring
imagine if they made a mm hunter on wow blizzard would be broke.hammer defeats the whole purpose of soulbeast...jeez
