- Leslie Odom, Jr. burst onto the scene in 2015, originating the role of Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical phenomenon "Hamilton." Since then, he has performed for sold-out audiences, sung for the Obamas at the White House and won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. But before he landed the role of a lifetime in one of the biggest musicals of all time, Odom put in years of hard work as a singer and an actor. With personal stories from his life, Odom asks the questions that will help readers unlock their true potential and achieve their goals even when they seem impossible. These stories will inspire, motivate and empower people for the greatness that lies ahead, whether it's graduating from college, starting a new job or just looking to live each day to the fullest.

I love Leslie & I got Failing Up in the mail today!
Cami Hancock I’m reading book now : ) it’s great
Forever my favourite interviewer!!! And I just love hearing Leslie speak he’s so inspiring and charismatic
I always enjoy your thoughtful questions whenever you moderate anything, Laura! You're awesome! :)
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just hope the book isn't suger-coating prejudice & racism. "It's not them, it's you." 😞
I would be shocked if Leslie sugar coated racism.
Isn't she great? Not only does she do her homework, but you can tell she genuinely loves art and her job.
*Goes to like the video and does a double take of the amount of likes* WHAT!?!? ONLY 37 LIKES??? This NEEDS more views and likes. This is such a touching conversation with deep responses that opens your eyes and broadens your veiw on acting, singing, or sports, or anything you're passionate about getting started or continuing in. As an aspiring actress this is very important to hear. As Leslie says, Rush Forwards. I cant wait to purchase this book. Thankyou for this. ❤❤❤
She is soooo good at this- I’m endlessly impressed with how articulate she is, with totally on point questions and while her enthusiasm is obvious and joyful, she also doesn’t “gush” over these amazing amazing humans she gets to interview. That takes talent!
I just got my copy of the book today and I’m already half way through it. It’s so inspiring! Leslie is such a gifted writer 👏🏻
People don´t like to talk about failure. Only in terms "I was down, now I´m up". A friend pointed to me that it´s because we don´t like to be seen like losers.
This is so valuable, the acknowledgment of "Failure is not always getting a bad result, but not trying something because its out of your comfort zone", because we as adults are expected to "know" how to...well, everything. If we fail at learning something as adults, we feel stupid or failured and are ashamed of that. It´s nice to give ouselves a break, and treat experiences sometimes as lightly as when we were children again: It did´n wor out, ok, next...
Thank you for this book, Leslie :D
This interview made me so emotional. I love how Laura is such a huge fan and knows her subject matter. And Mr. Odom’s insight and truth are so refreshing. It was like being a fly on the wall and listening to a personal conversation they were having. I know I’m a few years late but def buying the book
Fantastic interview! Can’t wait to read the book.
He is SO TALENTED on SO many LEVELS!!!! DANG!!! He’s definitely in ALL THE ROOMS where IT happens... whatever’It’ is!!❤️❤️💋💋
I remember him from his role in Supernatural and thinking he's so suave and impish, he really stuck out. It's great to catch him years later being a rising star
If anyone ever did a biopic of Denzel Washington, Leslie should definitely play the role. He gives off the same vibes and looks like him some. Amazing interview!!!
27:02 Im Mr. Edd from Puerto Rico. Thank you Ivenneth. Hi Leslie!!!
That's so awesome, Mr. Edd! Thank you for being an amazing teacher!!

I just hope Leslie Odom Jr.s book isn't sugar-coating prejudice & or racism. It's not them, it's you. 😯 I inadvertantly posted this comment under a reply column, earlier. Sorry. 🙄
