Ok it’s official our reading taste is extremely similar! I also gave The Beautiful 3 stars, although I still enjoyed it, but I was really really disappointed with it!
So, my goal today is to be all caught up with your videos. Let's see if I can pull it off! January Lavoy is an AMAZING narrator!!! I just finally read the Diviners in February. I didn't love it as much as I thought I would (I was expecting it to be more spooky), but January really elevated the story for me. Love her narration!! I definitely will be reading the rest of the series on audio too! Ooooh. Now you have me even more intrigued to finally pick up my copy of Strange Grace. I know so many people who love it so seeing you give it a 3-stars has me somewhat hesitant but also interested to pick it up and see how well I would enjoy it. I had to skip your comments on the Beautiful because I still want to read it soon and I want to walk into it blind.
I really like how convenient audiobooks are, but for some reason, I can’t get as emotionally invested when I listen to an audio book versus if I read it physically. Which is FRUSTRATING! When I finish an audio book and if I give it a 3 star, I’m left wondering if it’d have enjoyed it more if I read it physically (which I don’t have enough time 😭😭) which is what happened with the diviner’s. 3stars but would I have loved it more if I read it myself? Ugh the cycle is endless lol
Ugh same! My mind drifts so bad when I'm listening to audiobooks and after the story I feel like I missed out of a lot of things, and I definitely get that feeling that I would enjoying it more if I was reading it in my own head.
i’ve heard a LOT of people say that Dracula’s pretty boring, so i’m not surprised to hear the same once again :/ i wasn’t aware that Dracula himself is barely even in the book though!
THANK YOU for what you said about Dracula, cos I have read that book twice and OH LORD! Like if you want to sell me a book about a vampire, SHOW ME THE VAMPIRE!! Like he was not there. And it was boring AF. I have strong feelings about it if you can’t tell lol
I loved YOU because of the way it's written. It's SO smart. Ugh it's probably one of my favorite series of all time and I wish more books were like it. Also I don't feel like Joe is that messed up 😂 it's hard to explain but a lot of people have thoughts like that (but don't act on them obviously). He's a bad person but I can't help but love how he appreciates intelligence. It's hard to explain.
I really need to read Dark Places! I'm working my way through Ruth Ware's books so I'll eventually get to Turn of a Key. I also want to start going through all of VE Schwab's books!
I read Dracula for a final assignment in english my freshman year and I honestly agree, such a well written book but just sooooo boring. I loved the first five chapters and the last five chapters because there was actually an interesting plot
Oh yes! Dark places was my fave of her books. Am reading turn of the key now. YOU was a 3 star read for me, it wasn’t the best book ever, but I couldn’t stop reading it.
I've watched almost every vampire movie ever made and quite a few vampire books so I was very disappointed as well when I went to read Bram Stoker's Dracula. I thought it was going to be one of my all time favorites. But I also found it extremely boring and very difficult to want to keep reading it. So its nice to hear I'm not the only one that feels that way. 😕
I’ve heard such mixed reviews about the beautiful, i really can’t decide if i want to pick it up or not 😅 i hope your November goes well like you want!
I felt the same way about The Beautiful, though I enjoyed the ending. Not completely sure if I’m giving the second book a shot, though... I really didn’t care for You, but I do plan on watching the show soon
Dracula sounds like a bore haha. I have that with a lot of classics, they just feel like they’re dragging onnnnnn! and the turn of the key sounds so good imma see if I can find the audiobook
I read The Diviners for the first time this October and I feel like I’ll be doing the same thing you did by reading one book each October ☺️ I’ve been really interested in Dracula but you’re the second person I’ve seen recently who wasn’t super impressed by it and now I’m thinking I dodged a bullet not buying it haha I’m so so excited to read the Mistborn series ... at some point... hopefully soon 😂 And I’ve just become interested in Little Monsters and might pick it up soon
Carmilla was actually the original vampire story!! It's still old-fashioned so to speak but it's short - I think you'll like it much better
Ok it’s official our reading taste is extremely similar! I also gave The Beautiful 3 stars, although I still enjoyed it, but I was really really disappointed with it!
I realize it's quite off topic but do anybody know of a good place to stream new series online ?
@Samuel Imran Flixportal
@Reid Harper Thank you, signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it!
@Samuel Imran you are welcome =)
Audiobooks are the best! Without them I wouldn’t have a huge stack 😭

I started skimming Strange Grace tbh. Halfway through and still not inside and i just did not care for the threesome relationship at all.
I love your makeup!!

I haven't read any of these books, but just love watching your videos!!!! You are awesome! :)
THANK YOU for what you said about Dracula, cos I have read that book twice and OH LORD! Like if you want to sell me a book about a vampire, SHOW ME THE VAMPIRE!! Like he was not there. And it was boring AF. I have strong feelings about it if you can’t tell lol
I love your purple makeup! Purple is my favorite color haha, I’d love to see more makeup videos from you!
Finished Mistborn! And I loved it. Just started A Well of Ascension and I can't wait for Queen of Nothing. Four more days!!!

Audiobooks are honestly the best!

I am way behind the 8 ball here, but I just started the Mistborn series!!! So excited to binge through them and get to Hero of Ages.
I loved Dark Place and You for October. Spooky vibes for the spooky season!!
