Definitely one of my favorite layouts on TH-cam. I’m originally from southern Maine, now living in NC and your layout reminds me of home. You’ve definitely captured the spirit of New England. Would love to see a “realistic operations” video sometime soon!
Your scenery, especially the subtle blended ground cover and structures, is so realistic! I think the average modeler, like myself, doesn't realize how complex natural settings really are. You have an amazing eye for that level of detail. Thanks for sharing!
fantastic layout. Was familiar with Jason Fontaine's layout, first time discovering yours. I'm currently in the planning stage of my railroad and find videos like these to be really helpful. I'm modeling the Monon route through rural Indiana in the fall during grain harvest season.
This update was very pleasant to watch. You have done a heck of a job blending the additions. The train looks wonderful running through your well done scenery.
@@cvsne678 Marty I retired 4 months ago and our house is up for sale, We are building a retirement home and yes a new layout so everything is packed up. Working on a new plan .
No, Jason Fontaine is still around. But he was very good friends with Dick Elwell, who contributed several things to Jason's layout over the years - perhaps that's what you're seeing?
That crossing at 3:21 is not up to the quality of the other pieces of the layout. You need to do some work to soften the topographical transition to the tracks. Any larger truck would not be able to make that crossing without ending up being grounded. Otherwise, it's a very, very nice layout.

Thank you very much - I'm always striving to create scenery that looks natural.
Really nice railroad. Your scenery is especially well done. Very much gives the feel of New England.
Thank you very much - I'm trying to capture the spirit of the area, and am pleased with how it looks so far!

What a great layout!! I like the double tressle over the river.
Thank you so much. The bridge crossing is one of my favorite scenes on the railroad also!
Beautiful scenes and incredible detail!
Glad you think so! Thanks!
I just came across this video ... Subscribed!!! 👍
Thank you and welcome!
Love your work, Marty! Top notch as always! Merry Christmas from Day and me!!
Norm, Merry Christmas to you both as well

Thank you very much - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Blending Jason's layout section into my layout was a lot of work but I'm please with how it's come out.
@@cvsne678 My pleasure.
Looking good. Cannot even tell that the one section of the layout was blended it. Thanks for sharing.
I need to add a couple of buildings and finish some water detailing - so not out the woods yet!
Absolutely a beautiful layout! Can’t wait to see more.
Thank you so much! I'd like to do videos on more than a semi-annual schedule!
Great solution! Thanks for the update!!
Beautiful! (love how you've captured the autumn feel (sorry, 'fall' ;-)) Subbed ;-)
Fall (autumn) can easily get away from you and look too garish - key for me has been a subtle "past peak" look with an overall rusty color tone.
I think you've done an excellent job of blending the "new" section in. Can hardly tell
Thanks - I'm pleased with how it turned out so far!
I very much enjoyed the update video, Marty.
Bruce, I'm glad you liked it!
Wow Looking great Marty!!!!
Thank you Mike - how's your layout coming along?

excellent thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Marty nice progress!
It's getting there!
Is the addition you so skillfully blended in from a famous model railroader who passed away? It looks strangely familiar.
