- Kicking off this trip to Europe, I booked a flight on Iberia in business class. Iberia is a full member of Oneworld and all, but everything about it feels a bit cheap. Is that a bad thing or not? Let's find out on this flight from Chicago to Madrid!

Same, I personally had a better experience with Iberia Business Class than Air Europa.
I applaud BA for charging seat selection for now status passengers. It is a good award for their regular flyers having the better seats still available nearer to take off.

My flights to and from Bogota from Madrid on the A350 were brilliant. So much so I booked this year to and from México City. Iberia was great start to finish and with Airbus instead of the more risky Boeing, is one of my favourite airlines.
For the money why not buy a new deluxe chair for the home instead of a chair that hundreds of strangers already sat in

I feel like any business class is still going to be worlds better than being shoved in a four across in cattle class 😝
Have you flown with them on short-haul economy? Their legroom is pretty bad. 28’ pitch.
I haven’t, but I assume it’s just as bad as British Airways short haul, also owned by IAG. I just flew to Spain again actually, but it was on Air France Hop’s E190 that was actually not bad.
The last domestic or short haul Spanish flight I took…was a 717 on Spanair. So yeah, it’s been a while 😅
@@Travelog Oh Iberia’s legroom is worse (I’ve flown both the signature and old interior on BA short haul). I’ve never seen seat pitch worse than Iberia. I took their A320 once from Rome to Madrid. Cool how you’ve flown Spanair, what was that like?
Do their latest A350s still have the placeholder Premium Economy seats?
I believe they have the new ones, but I haven't seen it in person. It's currently on the NY, Mexico City, and Bogota routes.
How did you get AAFlagship lounge access when flying Iberia any class?
If any leg of your itinerary is classified as long haul business class on any full OneWorld airline, you get access at any stage of your trip to the flagship lounge. It’s a major point of difference between them and Star Alliance. In my 2019 video I was flying to Boston then on to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, but because of my Cathay Pacific flight from Boston, I could even access the lounge in Chicago.
To clarify, it does NOT include flagship dining. However, Chicago never had that as an option, as Chicago never got American’s Flagship First product.
@@Travelog Thanks for responding. Yes, I knew Flagship dining was different; sort of a higher level product, not available everywhere. And, I knew that some well-traversed AA destinations or origins don't have the Flagship First product. The longer that goes on I think the slow roll-out excuse is not a valid one. Either poor planning or weak implementation of the program is more likely..
Iberia as a whole feels like: Eh, good enough.

Isn't Iberia now more directly connected to British Airways' management?
It’s fully owned by the IAG group, that owns BA, Vueling, and Aer Lingus.

I've flown business with Iberia for years and to say the captain didn't inform you of the flight details is BS, Also if this review is as stated 4 months old Iberia was already flying the new A350 NEXT with the enclosed seats unlike what you say in the video that it wasn't, your endless nagging and criticisms are for the most part void of any merit.
There's a lag between when I film and when they go live, often nearly a year as was this case. You can believe my account or not, that's the beauty of TH-cam!

You can choose your seat on business class trans Atlantic free of charge, just done so
@@maxi-bu5xt it actually depends on the booking class, I talked to Iberia. So in the “cheaper” business class fares you cannot choose the seat for free, in the more expensive ones you can.
