Appreciate your honesty and love towards your people. Jehovah keep you safe.
Who’s cutting onions cause all I did was cry the whole way through this video 🥺🥺😢😢. Akua thank you for being so vulnerable in this video and letting us into a private part of your life. Your grandma would have been so proud ❤️
@@AkuaDimples
Have been watching your videos always babe. Doing great work.
even though my grandma is still alive but no longer living in the village where she raised me and my cousins, I feel same way you felt whenever I visit the village. May Allah bless and protect you for making your grandma proud
No one can know how God designed our brain 🧠 to keep such memories from childhood to adulthood, to remember all that happened in our life. When I miss my dad all the memories that I and my siblings had with him always comes to my mind, I smile 😃 and it makes me weak also. When it happens like that, I pray and tell God how I feel about those memories and at the end of it , I get the comfort I need from the Almighty. Love you 😘
This was beautiful- the pain of the loss of a loved one is so hard but your grandma must be smiling down on you! Thanks for being so real xx
You make me so emotional as well it make pictures room and Coriddor I use to sleep when I was in back home thank God for my life as well
i feel same way! pretty nostalgic returning to root of where our life spring from!
b thankful God gave u d chance to return live n well. am happi for u
Hi queen. I so happy you find people who remember you as little girl also your family. Bless your heart
We all came through my sister lol we were born in Canada however our parents brought us back to Ghana when I was 10years old and we lived in north Kaneshie until I was 20 years it was humble gift and experienced money can't buy my parents gave it to us we are always thankful and appreciating for the choices,,,decisions and sacrifices they made, to live and schooled in Ghana, and today it prepared us for better future.... Mother Ghana we are coming back to contribute our quarter
This was a special personal journey and I feel privileged that you chose to take us along.
Miss Dimples, Please you must go to all your former homes. I also went back to my Grandpa's and mom's home after being gone for over 30 years. They had long passed but being there brought back so many good memories of them and the time I spent growing up.
It really wasn’t easy at all. But I guess it’s really good to go back and get back in touch with your roots.
OMG I feel you paa the same here. When I went to Ghana first time to surprise I could not find the house, walked pass several times. In the end it turned out they had moved and the house I was looking for was among the ones I walked passed several times, because as a child everything looks bigger so I was expecting a bigger house than what was there. You've done well, one must never forget their roots, people and country!
I was lucky my camera man lived in the area also so he helped me navigate my way around. It’s very true that you expect everything to be bigger.
Akua, it is commendable to stay grounded. Grandma is smiling on you.
Anyway, I wanted to say Nii-Boi Town is an urban rather than rural area. You may also use Inner-City. It is like any working class inner city neighborhood in the UK. It is a lower middle class neighborhood just like Lapaz etc. The planned residential areas like Dansoman and North Kaneshie may be considered middle class with the airports and East Legons as Upper class.
Going back to where you grew up as a child is always emotional 🙏🏿
Awww this was so beautiful and emotional. It’s good to know our roots. I love how you gifted them all something. God bless you
Very emotional and nostalgic. I really love your down-to-earth attitude and personality. May God bless you in all of your endeavors.
I dont really comment on social platforms. But this video has made me Very emotional 😢
I understand how it feel . I was in the same situation. Stay strong, Your nana is proud of you. J.👍🏾
Don't apologize for your history. For your testimony will bring glory to God to your country.
Grand mother are special. Always and forever be in our heart. thank you for sharing this personal video with us.
What makes Ghana such a special place is the people. In the video your grandma is celebrated but the whole area is special full of people who are warm and sweet and just wonderful. The communal spirit in these local communities sustain the people who live there. It's the communal spirit which abounds in Ghana that makes me go back and your videos have a way of showcasing an African spirit that still shines in the midst of poverty.
You certainly hit the nail on the head. I love the communal spirit of the people. We’re all just one big family.
Thank you for sharing such a personal piece of you with the world. This was truly touching. You didn't have to share this but I really appreciate what it took for you to do so. Thank you💖 lovely video
Thank God for His many blessings on you. He has kept you down through the years, brought you back to remind you that He is your shepherd and your guide. He blessed you to blessed others. I cried with you, the joy and the sadness of not seeing your grandma, reminds me of precious memories oh how they lingers. Stay Blessed.
This grandma must be a super human. God bless her and God bless miss dimples. Subscribing right now
My first time of watching your video. I was not expecting such a wholehearted and emotionally filled piece of work. Thank you Akua.
This lady must be a natural born giver and a compassionate like her Grandmother
Yes, she definitely understands the Ghanaian ways even though she lives abroad now. God bless her giving spirit....🙏🙏
Wow not me leaving my first ever TH-cam comment after watching vids for years. I had too because I loved this video and everything you shared! Shed all the tears with you & laughed at Auntie saying "Jennyy Jennyy". Absolutely loved it!
This is so heart warming I love it
Lord may we look back one day and say thank you for everything 😭🙏.I also leaved with my grandma but she is still alive.I pray one day I will visit her with tears of joy because she thought me soo many things as an adolescent 🙏
This was a beautiful video. I am so happy because you needed to go home. I think meeting your Grandma's absence, thinking of how she cared for you during a time when Im sure you missed Mom and Dad- all of this awakened old emotions. I have been there so I was right there with you. We love you for your open heart and kind spirit. Thank you for sharing.
I cried too 😂this is your first video I'm watching and I'm really enjoying it ❤️

Awww Miss Dimples, that’s very emotional.. love the transparency of your video, you’ve got yourself a subbie. 💕💕
My sister, please know that you didn't cry alone. You drew us all in with your love and generousity. My wife and I are with you and we will be one of those people who would scream with joy if we met you but I'm sure you get that a lot. Keep inspiring us with your gifts to make Ghana a great place. We also loved your story with the school in Northern Ghana. The diaspora is coming and you are a part of the team that's building up the momentum. Keep hope alive!
This means so much to me. Thank you for your support and love shown. It’ll be nice to meet you one day.
Aww Akua I know that feeling… I get soo emotional when I’m back home specially because I loved my gramma so much. Thanks for sharing with us
Selam Aleykum from Turkey. African peoples will be liberated from the tyranny of the Europeans. Together we will sail to good days. Lots of love.

Akua i like this woman too much she always happy
Great video. Importantly it shows that you never know what life will bring and/or carry us. It definitely brings everything back to full circle and into a reflective perspective. Can't wait for my visit to Ghana next week as well.
What a beautiful experience. I wish I could have taken the trip with you
Awww Akuaaaa!!! This video was so emotional. So nice to learn where your are from and learn about this very important part of your life. Thanks for sharing this with us!!! We love it ❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful video... My tears are falling with yours...
God bless you always..
Jenny Jenny 🌹🙏🏿🌹
I hardly comment on youtube videos. But this one certainly got me emotional especially growing up under similar circumstances at Abeka Eno Mirekua with my grandma who was good to everyone who crossed her path. Unfortunately, she kicked the bucket along the way just when I enlisted into the British Army some 11 years ago. I had some good plans for her but it's sad she couldn't live to see this day. I can only relate to your emotions, my sister. May the good Lord grant our late grannies eternal rest.
It’s so sad when they don’t get to enjoy what we’ve become after investing so much into us. 💔
So happy to see the area I live at the next street with my aunty the storey building is now hotel there was a pharmacy there I did my attachment there so good to look back God bless you
I feel you. Though our stories are different and I been home to Togo for the first time last year, I feel you. You are aware of the deep and important connections of places, times and memories. I cried so much, too! Visiting my grandfather's house, seeing Grandma at 99 years old, for the first time, having a naming ceremony...But it's a good cry, when you feel like closing a circle.
I feel you! Grandmothers are special I was brought up by my grandmother too.❤️
God bless. Thank you for a hand of God in your life.
I grew up at Abeka la paz next to nii boi town in the 70's and the area was swamped with snakes and termites which made it uninhabitable back then.
You are just amazing, I'm in Manchester it will be a great privilege to see you one day ... Hmmm you made me cry too I left Ghana when I was 8 have lost my mom and dad I went back but I couldn't go to were I use to leave I miss my family soo much with what you have done next year I will go there God bless you dear .
I sooo love your realness. Yes always visit your roots and appreciate the journey. I've been watching you from the beginning but don't always comment. Your journey is so touching. I think you take after your grandmother also with the same beautiful heart. 💖
love your videos...so real, full of empathy, love and friendship! 👍🏽🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You need to share. I love your history.
Keep doing a good job to Mother Ghana I love your videos I wish one day I will meet you
This is really deep love this…
You have a very humble heart. This is what I love about you. May God richly bless you and your family. One day Lord willing I hope to meet you.
That's good of you to visit where your early life got started
🇬🇭A VERY POWERFUL AND EMOTIONAL THAT NEARLY BROUGHT ME TO TEARS. I ALSO GREW UP CLOSE TO YOU AT ABEKA LAPAZ NEW MARKET AND I'M ALSO BEEN LIVING IN EAST HAM AND BARKING FOR 20YRS. AND I FEEL EMOTIONAL ANYTIME I'M BACK TO WHERE I GREW UP SEEING OLD FRIENDS 😭. THANKS FOR SHARING MY SISTER ✊🏿
We have a lot in common because I lived at Abeka before Nii-Boy Town and also in East London. This has made me realised a lot of us don’t realise the emotional impact of having to leave your childhood behind to start afresh in a new country.
I was literally thinking about you this morning and TH-cam recommended this video!!
It was beautiful seeing you find childhood friends. This was a beautiful video. A beautiful Home Coming. To see your neighbors so happy to see you and celebrating your return and that you have not forgotten them. It is so important to remember where you come from and to return home to reconnect.
THIS VIDEO IS REALLY TOUCHING👍
You had my heart just from the intro alone, so emotional and amazing all at the same time 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
This made me so emotional Akua😓, you’re a wonderful woman... keep doing what you’re doing ❤️

Oh wow!! We’re probably family. I think I know the funeral you attended. My mum was there also.
Your video made me cry. You made me remember my very childhood friend. Yaw Amaniampong. We did everything together. I need to call and check on him.
You should definitely call him. Our old friends know a part of us that’s so special

I can't believe am watching this video the same area I lived before moving to kasoa and then USA but my house was behind you where you started the video.I remember those two guys and the woman she is a very nice person .we always have to remember where we come from
Wow that was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride. I've lived a similar life to you Akua, brought up by my Grandma because my parents came to England. Like you the most painful thing is I never got to see my Grandma again. When I said goodbye at the airport didn't realise that would be the last time. So sad.
Honestly that’s what is so heartbreaking. I didn’t get to attend her funeral to even mourn so the places we lived together hold so much sentiment.
@@AkuaDimples It was exactly the same for me. It's like one part of our was just wiped out. I cried buckets this morning because it stirred up a lot of emotions for me........probably wasn't the best thing to watch before doing the school run 😄 Thank you for the awesome video.
honestly, its always good to leave a good mark so that someday when you go back, people will still welcome you.
