Australia does not want to recruit health care assistants, that's why. Even those professionals willing to relocate to aussie from UK to work in the sector are not getting positive reply even when they have got the certificates to work in Australia.

the trouble is while working those long shifts I found in my occupation I needed a day to recover so I much preferred 8 hours where I could get 2 days to enjoy myself and didn't have to waste a day recovering . i found the same thing when working 9 days on and 3 days off , I was buggered and hated every minute of it.

You didn't mention in Australia you are paid 17 and a half per cent holiday loading so you are paid more to holiday than work, also your employer pays eleven per cent of your wage into a superannuation fund for your retirement

@NurseDeo NHS don't pay full either for Sick leave. Length of sickness too matters because after 7days, you need to get a sicknote from GP to explain why you've been away 7days or more...
I once called in sick last year October ending on the 28th and I returned to work November 2nd (6 days sickness off) I returned to work and the roster team changed my sick off to Duty.
I was working upto the 22nd of November when a letter came by Post from the Hospital HR saying I've been absence on Sickness over 3weeks and they want to inform me that I will be Receiving Half Pay of November Salary. I was shocked because I have been working since November 2nd😂😂 I had to meet my Manager to rectify the issue and it happened that The Absence sheet for the HR was showing I'm on sickness whereas My Manager/Rostering Team can see I've been working all through the month.
I just wondered if I was truly sick for the whole month or 3weeks, that means my salary would be nothing😢 Truly they say The HR is Not Your Friend, I wondered atimes why couldn't they send a post or even email to check on a sick employee or ask why an employee is absent for long...... Instead the first action is to slash salary to nothing😂
With what happened to me, I don't think the NHS pays Sick leave in full either.
