This is my 1 year ownership review of Kawasaki Z900.
I bought this beast on 3rd March 2021.
* Completed 10660 Kms as on 1st March 2022
* 591 liters of fuel used in 1 year
* First service at 700 kms
* Second service at 4600 kms
* Third service at 9300 kms
* Personal best top speed 216kmph
* Best milage 25kmpl speed within 100
* Lowest milage 17.64kmpl speed of around 200
* Overal Milage 18 - 20kmpl speed around 150
* Tank range between ( 300 to 370kms ) for 17lts capacity
Positive points
* Japanese Engine relailibilty
* Good top speed of 250kmph stock
* Very refined, torque and acceleration monster
* Magical Low end torque, 25kmph in 6th gear
* Amazing overall milage between 18-20kmpl
* Fantastic heat management
* Perfectly balanced handling
* Very effective riding modes ( 3 preset and 1 Custom)
* Good stopping power
* Wheelie machine
* Wonderful stock exhaust note of inline 4
Negative points
* Throttle position sensor error pops if we open the throttle accidentally during cold start. If this happens riding mode can't be changed untill the bike temp hits 100 degree, then switch off and start the bike to get rid of this error.
* Low oil indicator lamp glows even though oil level is perfect.. This is because the sensor terminal corrodes. Just access the terminal spray wd40 and its good to go.
* Idle rpm drops occasionally below 1k may be due to fuel quality. Access the rpm screw and manually increase the rpm to 1.2k recommended idle speed. Use fuel system cleaner additive from liqui moly.
* Stock Dunlop sportsmax2 tyres not good during wet riding conditions.
* Rock hard pillion seat. Better to install seat cowl to enhance the looks of already lethal looking monster.
* Front number plate screws are installed after the bike reaches the Indian shores. These screws are substandard will corrode and gets jammed, Make sure to replace these screws immediately after taking delivery of the bike.
Verdict = No wonder why this is the highest selling inline 4.
It has 948cc, 123bhp, 98.6nm torque, torque throughout the rev range, commendable overall milage between 18 - 20 kmpl. Superb top speed of 250 kmph, Most refined Gem of an engine.
If you want speed hallucination this monster is for you.
hi, is it good for city comuting? does it heat much in the traffic? can we use it as a daily bike considering the weight as heavy bikes are not that fun to ride

Hi buddy. I have had a z800 for about 2 years now and yes I completely agree with you that Z900 is really quick since I got to ride one recently for about 100 KMS straight. I clocked a top speed of 230KMPH during my ride and the only issue I found at that speed was light wobbling which is not the case with the Z800. Nevertheless it's an awesome machine to ride! Really appreciate that you discussed about the idle RPM issue. I have not seen many reviews that tell about this problem of Z900. Surprising that kawasaki have still not figured the resolution even after so many years.
Yes bro, it's still the same issue with bs6. Kawasaki should resolve it

@@sahilshinde They don't consider it an issue. They blame it on the fuel quality. Even though Ninja 1000 (with an inline 4) apparently doesn't have these problems. And these guys will charge approx 3000 bucks every time just for cleaning the throttle body.
@@barunkaushik7015 but is it necessary to clean the throttle body just to increase the rpm...cant we do it at home .its just a adjuster screw correct...to increase the rpm?
@@sahilshinde Yes, deposits present in the throttle body is causing the RPM to go down. Increasing the RPM will work for some time but as the deposit in the throttle body increases, the RPM will again go down. And this cycle will continue until you get the throttle body cleaned. As per my knowledge, Z900 and H2 are the only inline 4 bikes which face this issue. Ninja 1000, Hayabusa, CBR 650 - none of these bikes have this "disease". And this problem in Z900 exists since 2017.
Arey bhai wo traffic mein rough idling hoke band hone wala issue benelli 600i mein bhi hai, it's annoying. I was hoping ki atleast kawasaki mein ye issue nahi hoga 😕
Its the same issue with kawasaki
The idle rpm issue comes from cheaper/lower quality euro95 petrol. If you want to keep a japanese engine running forever, always use premium petrol and high quality engine oil!

I have heard that parts of Kawasaki is too costly and requires more time to reach to the customer.

Go for z900 , but if u have to choose between cbr 650r and z900 then u should go for cbr650r

I will suggest that study as per your requirement and then, meet your bike
My study: my friends triumph street triple has got radiator issue ... The machine is at service centre from 2 months and still no confirmation has received from triumph yet. And yes the service cost is much higher to kawasaki and suzuki
Offcourse the parat for this type of machine are not readily available... as this are not local machine and they do take some time to ship it under your registered bike specifications
