    Thanks Az for sharing, Well done on running it down , it reminds me of living on Croker Island and others in the N.T with my Bros and living off the land in the 70s , no T.B there and the Pigs were yummy , we often found them on the beach when they were not in the swamps but we had guns so it made the catching easier :) . Keep em coming boys the world needs an escape right now.

    Awesome Video Az, this series is very cool. Chasing Pigs on a beach, that escalated pretty quick, wasn't sure what was happening, had a touch of the "Lord of the Flies " about it LMAO, or a bad Friday night out at a cheap Night club. Cook up was nuts. Rice and curry, living the dream. Thanks for sharing the fun, watched all the ads, Stay safe!

    I have never heard of anyone running down a pig without help from dogs. Did it jam itself into the mangroves to hide when you picked it off? Anyways doesn’t matter, that meal afterwards, oh man did that make me hungry and I just had a huge breakfast

    Well done mate. An adventure of a lifetime for sure. A quick question. How did you renew your water supplies or was it coconut water that sustained you?
    If you did it again would you take a system that would allow you to distil salt water into fresh?

    • @BacktoBasics
      @BacktoBasics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Good question. We held 25-30L each and planned to find water every 5-7 days. This wasn't the case so if we had a day or two out we would husk coconuts and keep in the hatches, or camp where trees were. Next time I would look harder for a lightweight destil option for sure. But weight and storage very limited.

    y'all in the comments do realize that this is a tourist attraction island, right? remember the swimming pigs? how they literally come out to the boats and get food from people? this is one of their islands. these guys are "hunting" pigs that aren't afraid of people, and will actually come up to you if you have food.
    i am not against hunting by any means if it's done the right way, and done sustainably. and while the pigs do run when they pop up from behind a tree and start chasing them, that doesnt mean these pigs have never seen a human before and this island has never had people on it. a domesticated duck will still run from a stranger that sprints after it.
    if i am mistaken on any of this, then forgive me. it's just that this island and its pigs look EXTREMELY similar to the tourist island

    Is Australian beach not considered crown property and public road like it is in the other nearby country? You shouldn't need permission to do anything on them. And removing pest species is never a crime, they're very destructive. Killed and cleaned and immediately cooked = no chance of health issues, either.

    • @Swandivein

      They were on traditional owners land so probably just got permission out of respect to them.

    • @fredio54
      @fredio54 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Swandivein Yes, understood, but that was my question, in that other nearby country that could not be privately owned land. The citizens of that country call it "The Queen's Chain" and it surrounds all waterways, lucky buggers.

    Yeah... not much of a fight since those pigs are fed by people who come and see them. They ARE wild (ish)lol, but its not as much of an " "ordeal" since they arent REALLY on lvl playing FIELD . The pigs were kind of hanging around waiting for food. In the wild they would have been GONE... theyd have NEVER been able to catch a TRULY completely WILD hog..Not the way they did.. yeah. Im not falling for it... ya might as well have killed a pet. But thats my OPINION. AND EVERYONE can get pissed and call me out. But if they dont want ALL OPINIONS They shouldn't be on here. JUST Because someone doesnt have the same opinion as you doesnt make it any less valid.
