    why is it heavier? any other way to differentiate them? who did they trade them with?

      One way to differentiate the two is the trade dollar actually states at the bottom of the coin the word trade dollar. It also clearly states the weight of the coin, at that time they used The weight unit called grains. It says there’s 420 grains. Evidently there were a lot of countries that also had trade dollars. The idea was that all the currency would be an equal weight so it would be easier to trade. The main country they made this US trade dollar was so as a country we could trade with China.
