Thank you to Garchen Rinpoche, the Translators and Team for doing these Q&As. I find it really helpful for my own reflection, learning and transformation. These Q&As videos are very helpful teaching method for many students to learn, understand and practice. If we are not able to attend the actual teaching session, are we allowed to also send in our practice questions to Garchen Rinpoche ? Thank you. :)

if we watch your live streaming ? are we considered as fully empowered too for the initiation ? could any kind soul here plse kindly enlighten me ?
Yes. Rinpoche stance is that empowerment is conferred just as if it were you taking it in the temple with him. The primary factor is your intent to receive, dedication for the emoowerment and cultivation of a mindset of bodhicitta. Then empowerment can be gained whether it is live in the temple, from a livestream, or from the recording.
what i mean is that is there such thing as remote empowerment ?
Means you dont have to be physically in the room with Rinpoche for the energy of the Empowerment to be conferred... you dont even have to do it Live in "real-time" with him. From a great distance or separate time with a recording- you can attain the empowerment

hey so is 'enlightenment' real, worth living as a monk? or better to have a normal life with a family and just do a bit meditation as a hobby?
Your lifestyle (being monk or householder) won't "give" you enlightenment. You have to practise meditation in order to achieve that. Being a monk might give you more opportunities and better environment for meditation, than being a householder.
@@belikeamirror8781 ah ya I agree, but -- is enlightenment real? I tried pretty hard for a pretty long time, I'm not confident enlightenment is 'real' or worth the endless hours of meditation

@@fascistphilosophy5649 enlightenment is not possible with gritted determination. This is the wrong kind of effort. The path will get frustrating and tiresome, and you will doubt that enlightenment is real or possible. You must understand 'right' effort. Only through right effort can you get a 'glimpse' of the truth of enlightenment. It is like we are acorns, and we think we are to become a bigger acorn. The idea of becoming a beautiful acorn tree seems impossible because we can't even imagine it. It is only when we see a shoot begin to grow from the acorn that we realise something else is possible.
Don't worry about becoming a monk, or enlightenment. Stream entry is your first task. Many lay people have become stream entrants. Look after your family, act ethically, and practise with joy. Good luck friend. 🙏
