- In today's vlog we head to Disney Springs for the grand opening media preview of the all new NBA Experience! We get to see some basketball stars, Bob Iger and Mickey & Minnie Mouse welcome us into the new attraction. We head in and experience each experience at the attraction, like, slam dunking, dribbling, went through the combine, got drafted, toured a locker room & more! The ticket prices as of the recording of this vlog are $34 for ages 10+ and $29 for ages 3 to 9. If you're a serious basketball fan, I think you would really enjoy this experience. I'm not sure that this is something that I would personally frequent but I'm glad I was able to experience it and bring you guys along to see it too. **Disney Quest fails**

If they kept the games updated it might have lasted but everything was just so dated it was doomed.
Yes but also:
“Let’s do it again, but with someone else paying to set-up/run it.”
So now it’s even more niche...
And a more targeted audience, I know, only people that are interested in basketball! They could have done ALL sports like golf, tennis, football. And have different sport on different levels. Missed that basket, as they say.
A Marvel Experience would have been more immersive and fun for families in general
I wish they would’ve just updated Disney Quest. Seems like this is only going to appeal to a small market.
For anyone a little confused as to why they maybe did this, Disney has recently become the main sponsor for the Orlando Magic (the Disney logo is actually on the Magic’s jersey). And the the league and Disney probably made some a deal to mutually promote each other in some way and this was Disney’s way to promote the Magic and the NBA

this just made me miss disney quest more. I really wish they didn't bail on the concept.
All it needed was an update to pull people back in and lower the cost to 25-30 for all day. :/ This seems like it has less to do and for non sports fans boring.
I think it's ridiculous they didn't keep the concept and update it.
It's just in the past 5 or so years that VR technology has become affordable and accessible enough for your average person to have in their household. I love my Oculus, but it cost me nearly $500 and many of the games are just a step above what you had at DQ back in 1999. Plus, DQ had some more physically interactive VR that you just can't get at home.
This was the perfect time for Disney to revamp the place, and continue to be an INNOVATOR in the field. I'm sure they could have created things that we still wouldn't see in home VR for another decade or more.
@@eric3529 EXACTLY my thoughts. It's a shame. They could appeal to a much larger crowd by introducing all kinds of different video games. It just needed an update. I bet you they might even agree but money and sponsorship talks...

I can’t imagine this will last in this form. IMO, the NBA experience is not for the average person
I think this will last, people are underestimating how big of a sport basketball is becoming

I still don’t think it will appeal to the average theme park goer. And if you are a basketball fan, it seems to be a do once and done sort of experience. I hope I am wrong 🙂
It will help provide something for people in families who aren’t as big into the theme parks.
As a hard core basketball fan (Go Lakers!), the "experience" is awesome; I just don't think the LOCATION is the best to attract the target audience you want. On the grounds of, or adjacent to the basketball stadium would be better. The Basketball Hall of Fame would be better. Having it at a shopping mall just seems kinda random.
They should have had Fergi sing the national anthem during the opening!

I love Florida. Every time I go I feel my happiest. I don’t know if it’s the sun or the international vibe of Orlando but it puts me in such a good mood.
Probably all the theme parks, atractions around.. same here btw.
I been living here all my life and let me tell you, I feel the same way, I live down in South Florida, but just being in Orlando, I don’t even need to be in a park, just knowing that I’m in the city always puts me in a good mood

He cries once when we went to see the magic because he thought he was actually going to play ! He didn’t want to just watch haha. We had to buy a basketball hoop for over the door in our villa on holiday and also one for the pool as he was OBSESSED with basketball . Kept him quiet .

My husband and I was NBA fans, but I’m not sure there’s enough in The NBA Experience to justify the cost for the two of us to get in. Makes me wonder if there’s enough hard core NBA fans to make this successful. Thanks for the video, Tim! Helps to know what it’s really about before we dropped $$ on it!

I was at the venue when they had it open to Disney cast members. I enjoyed the slingshot one as well. I do agree with you. It’s not for everyone. I feel like they should’ve kept Disney quest and put NBA experience in a different location. I enjoy your vlogs😊

I'm not interested in basketball at all but this channel's wholesome content keeps me watching every video they make. And Tim makes everything look so fun, even if he's not 100% into it. I love how he tries to make the best of it but also gives us an honest overview of things.
