I think the HL-X is an upgrade to the TLR-1 HL. Some people are complaining that the candela was not increased. Yeah, it would be nice to have more candela. However, what Streamlight did improve is still worth the money for this light to me. Streamlight may be working on a model that pumps out 50,000 candela. Until then the HL-X has improved switches, more lumens, and upgraded battery hatch.
i think more people are puzzled why, the new and smaller TLR-7 HL-X, has 22,000 candela while this "older brother" TLR-1 HL-X only has 20,000 candela. Many were hoping for a step up given the TLR-1 is seen as a more "duty use" WPL while the TLR-7 is more of a conceal carry light
@@TuBui2 Ah, I did not know the TLR-7 HL-X has 22,000 candela. That makes the argument against Streamlight not increasing the candela that much more valid.
My coworker was driving a tractor with a TLR-1S on his duty gun, and the back plate broke by just operating a tractor, rendering his weaponlight completely useless. He was pissed and gave it to me for free (otherwise he’d throw it out), I called up Streamlight, got a free replacement backplate and have a $150 weaponlight for free 😂. Anyways that new TLR-1HL-X looks like a huge upgrade and hopefully will preform much better. Ha, maybe driving a tractor, using a bucket and shovel can be part of your upcoming torture test
Nice to see options with the batteries. Have a 2 Surefire rifle light, but some how I bought 1 that takes cr123 or 18650 and other one only takes cr123. The 18650 batteries are far better than the 2 cr123. I have no idea what I did wrong to order them in different power sources, but would love to have both capable of running 2 different batteries....
Nice comparison to the original. I’ve had the HL-X for about a week now. It’s obviously a nice bump in lumens but they didn’t improve the candela. Surefire definitely have them beat there
The OG tlr1 HL’s at the 12’ on ARPs are the best with the Old magpul AFG1’s which were best for heat next to OG AR handguards 👑,get good fixed/flip irons layers of matte white/glow on the leads dot the tip finish with matte sealer |_*_|🎯🧐🤭,and the socket set fwrd KAKs are a must on 7.5-10.5s huge difference 💥😵💫and saves lights/rail space
Surefire part numbers are very confusing. If anyone is planning on buying one, make sure you get the right part number!! The DF, Dual File, is the one you want.....
I always tell guys I run these rechargeable 3.6v batteries from the new series lights in all my tlr7 series lights and I'd bet a paycheck the old tlr1 hl will run on the higher voltage batteries

@TuBui2 The TLR-1 also had a much longer “duty style run time” I really like the TLR-7 HL-X as well & have videos on it as well.

Thanks Big J, nice preview and difference between the two. 👍

Great video me boi

WOW!!! The new one is super bright
Looks like the HL-X has a more cool or true white color while the old one has a bit of yellow tint
@@IsaiahEstep yes it does

A damn Sun on a gun. I’m getting it for sure
My question if I already own the old one and I have a holster made for it can I use the new one with the same holster?
I’m not sure yet, I haven’t tried any.
Could you review goonbeams product? It's a tlr1hl clone but better than streamlight imo.
Never tried one. Thanks for watching.
will the recharge able battery's work for the tlr 1 hl?
One video I watched said no

Can I use the new one with the same holster as the old one?
I have been told by others it won’t work but haven’t tried any myself yet.
I got the old one and seeing the new one, makes me want to buy it for a different pistol.
I think it depends on the holster manufacturer. I guess we'll all see right.
Old switches are nice for mounting it 12 o'clock on rifle

Agreed. I have one on a rifle and will prefer the old switch.
I'm never buying the X300 again
