I have a goal zero powerbank... not that great.. after 1year the battery crashed down fast and doesnt keep up anymore. The solid 200w solar i bought with it stopped working after 1month. Sooo its all great on paper
gear like this isn't really well designed stuff. And, in fact, when you ACTUALLY look at the numbers and the physics, some of it is downright disgusting. For example, the "solar home" or "biolite" section of this video. A SINGLE LED can be 7 watts, and they have the ENTIRE system running off a 6 watt panel!? Do they even know how much power devices use?! An ACTUAL 100 watt panel would struggle to charge a cell phone, and modern phones charge at about 30 watts. Do you see how much of a shortfall they are putting there? And they have the audacity to market it as a HOME device!? HOW INFURIATING! if you want to go solar, its best to ignore junk that you see being marketed for "camping". Get a regular solid 100 watt solar panel, and connect a regular DC to usb charger directly to that panel (make sure that USB charger is designed for 12-24v, the standard is to support that, but better safe than sorry), and a DC port (of course). Once you connect those parts together, BOOM, you have a solar charger that is actually HIGHER quality than what these companies are selling. And, often its lower priced, since you aren't trying to use all this soft material to make it fun to pick up and move around. Technically for the price, even the goal zero battery packs they were talking about in this video are way overpriced compared to just getting a regular battery bank, and doing that solar setup i described in the previous paragraph. Whats sad, is you can DIY this stuff SUPER easily, and yet we are being marketed this bullcrap junk!
This is just what is needed for partial rv backup. Operates the ac and stuff perfectly. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y is quieter than my rv generator. Only suggestion is that it needs a fuel shutoff valve. So it is easier to store.
My fantasy amphibious solar e-assist velomobile microcamper would be built with a combo of Biolite, GoSun, Home Biogas, and Water Lily products. They only thing it couldn't do would be to fly lol. So much for pipe dreams!

Lol during the big freeze of 21 in north texas our power went out for over a week and we lived on the 3rd floor, no grill no anything... anyways I would've killed for this both my kids were very sick and I on bedrest... so a solar stove would've helped or anything at that point.

In some places of the world wood is scarce. Cooking with solar uses no fossil fuels. I have one of the GoSun ovens it can cook a meal in an hour.
