Supporting you makes me happy, here's my comment and I hope it benefits you well. Another winter suggestion: can you explain the best way to watch your videos? You noted something about retention on your videos. How do I avoid lessening the value of my watch time? I prefer to open various TH-cam videos at once and have a line up to watch one after the other, but I feel like opening it another window might hurt your record or opening it and pausing it at any point. I'd love some education on how to support you best.
Kathy, I wish everyone wanted to learn this ! So thank you! So, to help a channel you love. Each video. Watch from start to finish. If you choose not to skip adverts even better. But i understand. Never fast forward parts as that massively destroys a channel..people dont realise. Rewinding and watching parts helps! This tells youtube you didnt like the video. Commenting straight away after the video and liking it. Sharing the video also helps a channel. All these things help so much! For example, because I've asked viewers to like and comment this week It's told youtube people have watched and commented. This then makes youtube push your video to new people. Which can then hopefully gain you more subscribers. Which then tells youtube again you are being liked.. it snowballs to being shown to more people and more people. It really does help so much.

No one can accuse you of being a fair-weather gardenerDanny! Good grief! You put me to shame hehe. I have to say the plots look so lush in the wet, but picking anything is the rain is a mission. I have a runner beans variety suggestion for you. I changed my red flowered runner beans to Scarlet Empire rather than the classic Scarlet Emperor. They stay tender even when a little bit too big. And don’t go as leathery . Nice tasting bean. I have struggled with my runners this year mainly because the snails have preferred them to the climbing French. I have them in the same bed, the runners are near my neighbours rather overgrown raspberry bed next door and it is full of snails so the runners are getting hit. Still getting some but I have many more French beans at the moment. Hope you get some sunny days to spend with Leo this week.

I absolutely love your videos. Your gardens look beautiful and you’re enjoying your gorgeous produce. All your hard work gives you great rewards. I particularly like meeting your friends and seeing what a lovely network of friends you have.
Olà Danny, I love to watch your videos about your plots. I am living in Portugal so there are a lot of differences between your gardening and mine, but that is just what makes it so nice. Learning and getting inspired, I love it.
Hello Portugal! That's so nice of you to say! I think sometimes people.gte wrapped up on their own area of growing and not learn other climates which.. as we've seen is changing for us all. Our climate isn't the same as 30 years ago. Winters are milder and pests are overwintering.. not to mention the rain and hotter summers are back. Thank you for watching! Danny 🌱
Ahhh, that glamorous garden life! 😜 Even in the rain your plot looks great. Thanks for taking one for the team and getting soaked for us! I've not had good luck with runner beans, but maybe I'll try some next year. I just sowed my 3rd succession of bush beans. Hope you enjoyed your visit with Leo!
Thank you lea! Yes it was.. glamorous for sure haha! I have poor years with beans & excellent years.. I'm glad this year was great. Bush beans, I'm hit & miss with. We had a great weekend together. He's getting so tall now! Danny 🌱
Wonderful! Keep your face known at a few sites. Pop there on weekends in the morning if they have a committee and make friends. You'll have a better success rate of getting a plot. Trust me haha
Runner beans…so many beans! And can’t wait for the sweetcorn! Parsnips look great, and at last for the 1st time in 6 yrs ….. carrots! Love all your content!
What is all of that precipitation falling from the sky! 😱 I haven’t seen any of that in what feels like weeks. I have 15 large storage butts dotted around the plot here, and all bar one are empty. That last one is running out now too, and I’m reserving the last of my rain water for the 🌶️ 🫑 🫐 It’s proper grim here, it’s so dry. Hence I am deeply envious of your situation in this episode! 😍
Oh wow! That's madness. I have to admit I'm not a sun lover. Not as much as some. Linda could bake in it.. I'm suffering on times haha! I don't mind the rain.. but boy was I wet!!! Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel Thanks Danny I'm making lots of courgette & potato soup which i love, your beans are better than mine so its swings & roundabouts with the crops this year xx
@@TheGrowUpChannel I always put late sowings of Carrotts, Beetroot, Parsley in my tunnel as they grow a bit smaller but taste better and having fresh Carrotts in January and February is nice.
try Sunset its an Apricot flowered runner. Used to be rare and only available from HSL but its made it back into commercial production Worth growing on a teepee of its own just for the flowers let alone the stringless beans, and Meraviglia Di Venezia Climbing French bean Lovely golden yellow flat pods up to 10" long ... big fat beans in and no strings.
Everything really is enjoying that rain, apart from you! It looks like autumn, not summer! Fig harvest looked amazing. Thanks for the sowing tips. I have started most of those off recently too. Made me feel organised. Thank you so much for the lovely mention. Kerry and I are people you’d not think would be friends too. Appreciate the push over the 3k line: ❤️

Wow insane amounts of rain ☔️ we have had 2 days in all of July and maybe a few forecast for August. You’re getting loads of harvests and sowing done. I’m on the fence about what to do because I am making a bit of a change to make room for my vegepods. Have a marvellous and hopefully dry week ahead Benny, ❤ Jackie ☁️🇨🇦
New to veggie growing, stumbled on your videos and TH-cam has blessed me! Thanks so much, your way of explaining things in a realistic and relaxed manner is amazing! 😊
My runner bean archway in the garden looks lovely! Although I cannot seem to grow a brassica, every year I try and fail. Thank you for all the inspiration 😊
Oh that's some good news!!! My advice would be.. grow them in module trays (if you aren't until they are established and strong plants) and also lime the plant hole (use gloves) before planting and firm them down with your feet. Brassicas hate soft fluffy soil. They will rock and get stressed. Which then makes them go to flower. Also a good veggie mesh to net them from day one. I never risk them. Keeps out all the pests. Hope this helps. I think I'll record a video all about brassicas next year 😊 Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel I'm planning on putting some veg into a county show in September, not sure I'll have much to show at this rate! Thank you for the advice 👍

The weather had been so unpredictable this year. Love your videos, always plenty of content and fun too. Keep going & you will fly through Uni. Enjoy your Sunday lunch celebrating your Mum & Dads Birthdays 🎉 Thanks for sharing and take care 😅
Great video Danny! Glad to hear the lives will be coming back. It's been very inspiring this year getting to know gardeners on YT, through you and Jane! Do you ever need to bag up the figs from the birds there? I have also been on the ball this year with autumn, winter and spring planning, now the main structural improvements have been done. I have sowed 3 types of kohlrabi, 4 types of cabbage, purple sprouting broccoli and some other new stuff like swede. I'm changing how we are gardening by getting the tomatoes out in mid October and not planting garlic until Feb. It's great to have the extra space now in the garden to plant more different stuff. It will mean sowing less beetroot, turnip, and radishes than i used to but will be nice to have a bit more variety. We still have our main stays like Brussel sprouts, Kale, carrots, spinach's and pak choi's. I was thinking when we get out our "Christmas potatoes" i might see if i can grow radishes and carrots. Do you think a cherry belle and something like Amsterdam forcing can take a day or so at -5c no cover? I have had carrots growing in a cold frame in Jan. Really feel for you in that weather, looks awful there Danny! You'd think it would let up in the NW! Bloody stifling here in London today, 19c tonight, 33c tomorrow. I think we have had whooping cough all week so not keen on this hot weather with asthma! Hopefully the weather will even itself out by the end of next week for both of us. I don't like the endless cloudy weather but it has been nice being a bit cooler here, this year as i get to go out and garden more. I have made friends with a new young robin. Was sowing some beetroot and radishes in the crate that we moved into the shade and found a caterpillar. I put it in the tub for the compost but saw this little fella watching me quietly chirping. He took it from the trowel and came back! Got some wrigglers from the farm for it too. They keep coming back and was watching us in the paddling pool today. Going to make some hanging small bird feeders from some old oil bottles to have near the windows. I would love for the tits to come back again and nest too. Anyway, hope you have a great week and enjoy your time with Leo! Take care. 💮
Thank you! Some years i have to net the figs. This year, i didn't as wasps haven't been prevelant. I'm growing more carrots for Christmas, yes. Unsure about radishes. They like the warmth that then creates the intense peppery taste. It's been very cloudy for a while now. But we plod on don't we haha. Happy Growing. Danny 🌱
You've put a shift in with that weather!! Thank you so so much for recommending my channel and in such a kind manner 💚💚 Look forward to seeing some new faces, so thank you in advance if you've subscribed. I'm still awfully jealous of your fig harvest Danny, I do love figs with my annual birthday autumnal cheese feast! I wasn't sure where to put a fig tree but from what you've said, a container seems ideal. Ps runner bean cutting update - my krisk was a fail, I ended up turning to the knife to slice thinly. They were delicious though!! Pps looking forward to the autumn lives!!
Aww you're very welcome Dora! Yes in a pot is ideal... and in time pot on and on into a larger pot. That's a shame about the krisk! I'm glad I didn't get one now haha. Take care. Danny 🌱
just clearing last of the onions, cutting back strawberry plants and some flowers. I was going to mulch and leave the beds but i'm going to try some winter veggies!

Hi Danny, I can't believe the rain you have had! It seems to have missed us this time. Instead, we were recorded as the hottest place in the UK on Monday with a temperature of 34.8c, so it was so odd watching you in rain☔️ while we roasted!!! 🥵 I've grown scarlet empire the last two years. I have been really impressed with them. Good cropper, very tasty and stringless. Hope you have dried out now? Take care, Annie 🐞🐝🌱
Oh wow!!! I'm not a huge fan of the heat anyways.. as you could see it was a very different world here in Wales haha! But would you expect anything less 😂😂🌧 it took some time to dry out I tell you! Danny 🌱

Thanks for another superbly entertaining and enjoyable video. I hope your beans tasted all the better for you harvesting them during the rainfest xx
HAHA! Consider it done Jean 😂 thanks for all the rain! Glad you enjoyed it and the beans were marvellous!
Love watching you😊
Thank you very much 😄
❤❤ your videos are always very interesting and i learn something new everytime, thank you 💚💚🌻🌻🌻💚💚
Ahh why thank you very much! Appreciate that! Danny 🌱
Beans….probably my favorite veggie.
I think they are mine too! Next year I'm doing 3 rows. I can never have enough haha
Thank you Danny , i always look forward to watching your vlogs 😊 x
Glad you like them! Thank you Caroline 😊🌱🫶
I absolutely love your videos. Your gardens look beautiful and you’re enjoying your gorgeous produce. All your hard work gives you great rewards. I particularly like meeting your friends and seeing what a lovely network of friends you have.
💚
Thank you so much! Yes I'm very lucky to have a network of friends who share the same passion. Danny 🌱
Danny 🌱
Enjoyed watching that while sat on my comfy sofa under a blanket 😆😆😆 🌿🌿🌿🌧️🌧️🌧️ love Dora's channel 🌿
Haha oh you rascal!!!! Dora's channel is lovely, as is she 😊🌱
Ahhh, that glamorous garden life!
Danny 🌱
I so enjoy watching your vlog!❤ I've been watching Dog on the plot for some time now, just love her. Thanks for braving the rain to make me smile😅
Thank you for commenting Debbie! Ahh kerry...yer she's okay I guess 🙄😉😂😂 x haha thanks for enjoying me get drenched 😂😂😂
Plots looking brilliant in the rain ❤
I'm very very lucky to have that plot. It's beautiful all year round. Especially in the snow ❄️
Great to see the progress on the new plot. Loads of work in a short space of time.
Thanks Mike! I feel I should have done so much more! But life gets in the way. Projects for autumn are on planning table. Danny 🌱
I’m on a list for a plot, and enjoy watching your blogs. Learning before I get mine.
Wonderful! Keep your face known at a few sites. Pop there on weekends in the morning if they have a committee and make friends. You'll have a better success rate of getting a plot. Trust me haha
Great video, thanks for your hard work!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Nikki 😊
Runner beans…so many beans! And can’t wait for the sweetcorn!
Parsnips look great, and at last for the 1st time in 6 yrs ….. carrots!
Love all your content!
I've been successful with the beans too! Carrots.... we shall see.. they are estimated that they'll be ready very soon. Thank you Heidi 😊🌱
Love your enthusiasm
Thank you Helen 😊🌱
Fig, apple and pear chutney sounds amazing! Will be checking out a recipe for it. 😋
New subscriber here, very glad TH-cam recommended your channel!
Why thank you!! Welcome aboard! Thanks for subscribing! Danny 🌱
Danny 🌱
Just love your plots, so much food.
Why thank you so much! Danny 🌱
Great video as always Danny I'm harvesting runner beans & courgettes very yummy x
My courgettes haven't done as well this year. Never mind. Hey! Glad you're having a glut penny. Enjoy!
@@TheGrowUpChannel Thanks Danny I'm making lots of courgette & potato soup which i love, your beans are better than mine so its swings & roundabouts with the crops this year xx
@pennythompson4790 absolutely. We all have wins and losses. Part of the fun I guess! Take care. Danny 🌱
That little greenhouse has been an excellent addition and I'd plant some late beetroot and carrots to grow over winter.
Carrots are on their way... didn't consider beetroot....
@@TheGrowUpChannel I always put late sowings of Carrotts, Beetroot, Parsley in my tunnel as they grow a bit smaller but taste better and having fresh Carrotts in January and February is nice.
@ibrstellar1080 that's a great tip! I'll do some in the tunnel!
try Sunset its an Apricot flowered runner.
Amazing suggestions! My quest to find some beans for next year! Thank you!
@@TheGrowUpChannel I've emailed you Danny
Thanks for the recommendations. 👍🏻
Bless u for being in that rain. Just come across u and look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you 🌼🏵️🥀
Ahh thanks so much Louise!!! That means a lot. Thanks for watching. Danny 🌱
Thanks clare! Figs are glorious this year! You're very welcome to the mention. Yes. The plot is definitely enjoying the rain! Haha Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel looking forward to seeing all the new faces on the lives. Dora’s channel is truly beautiful.
There’s Emma and Sam @ House of Ted too. I’m sure you invite Seren from Seren’s Garden as well. I quite like Sarah from Sundays in the Garden too.
Those figs!! That rain will have done your garden the world of good - well done for getting out in it!
That's jane! They are lovely figs this year ❤️🌱
Great stuff
Thank you very much 😊🌱
Wow insane amounts of rain ☔️ we have had 2 days in all of July and maybe a few forecast for August. You’re getting loads of harvests and sowing done. I’m on the fence about what to do because I am making a bit of a change to make room for my vegepods. Have a marvellous and hopefully dry week ahead Benny, ❤ Jackie ☁️🇨🇦
Ooh exciting! I used to want a veggiepod. Maybe one day! Happy Growing ali 😀
Great video really enjoy your videos ❤
Thank you so much! Glad you like them. Danny 🌱
New to veggie growing, stumbled on your videos and TH-cam has blessed me! Thanks so much, your way of explaining things in a realistic and relaxed manner is amazing! 😊
Thank you so much. Means a lot. Thanks for subscribing. Danny 🌱
Good luck with it! Danny 🌱
Love your plot looking great !!!
Thanks so much Ellie! Danny 🌱
I really look forward to watching you each week 😊
Aww that's lovely! Bonkers ain't I 😂😂 thank you!!!
Hope it stops raining and nice sunny days ahead ❤❤
Thanks Sue. I don't mind a drop of rain now and then.. but let's prayer for warmer days & more flowers on the beans 🤞
Hi from Norway. I love watching your videos.
Hello from Norway!! Thank you very much! Danny 🌱
Enjoyed
Thank you very much 😊
Loved your video definitely going to get a fig tree for my new plot 👍
Ahh fantastic! Yes definitely get one ❤️
Love your channel. We have a small fig tree, so will be interested in your pruning etc.❤
Thank you Lesley! I shall ensure it's mentioned in autumn 😊🌱🙏
Information great and light hearted, make you want to keep gardening
Ahh thanks Carole! That's a lovely compliment. Danny 🌱
Hi Danny, love the introduction, music is lovely, the rain has been never ending, you are not on your own with difficulty in growing regular plants too. The weather had been so unpredictable this year. Love your videos, always plenty of content and fun too. Keep going & you will fly through Uni. Enjoy your Sunday lunch celebrating your Mum & Dads Birthdays 🎉 Thanks for sharing and take care 😅
Thank you so much Christine. I do spent quite a bit of time choosing the music. Glad you enjoy the videos. They had a lovely birthday. Thank you 😀
❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊🌱
hi! just found you! Looking forward to more videos Thanks so much
Why thank you Mary! Look forward to speaking to you more in the future. Hope you enjoy. Danny 🌱
Danny 🌱
Love the channel... really happy the lives are coming back. I look forward to watching in Autumn.
Glad you like them! Cheers Mark!
Lovely to stumble upon your channel! Where the algorithm is right 😅 Thank you for ideas about what to grow next 😊
It appears youtubers showing me to new viewers. Which is lovely! Welcome aboard! Thank you again! Danny 🌱
Always look forward to your videos Danny..can't wait for the next one. Your such a happy soul (most of the time)😂
Haha thanks Linda! Heyyyyy i had one grumpy video 🤣🤣🤣
Muy buen video el de hoy
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Danny another great video great harvest of figs thank you for your time Val
You're welcome. Thank you so much Val!
Oh fantastic! And why not hey!!!!
Ha ha ha - how did I miss that bit?! I'll check my calendar ;)
HAHA you'll be there LOL
Greetings Form Bavaria.
Oh hello! You are the first from Bavaria! Danny 🌱
Love your videos Danny. You are certainly not just a fine weather Gardener 😂
ABSOLUTELY... shh.. I wish I was 😂😂
You are one of my favourite you tube channels and what a way to end the gardening week keep the good work and thank you 👍
Ahh cheers mate! That's really kind. Happy Growing! Danny 🌱
First time I've watched your videos proper loved it I had to sub
Ahhh really! Thank you very much! Danny 🌱
Love your channel
Thank you so much 😊🌱🫶
Hi Danny, I grow blue lake french beans every year, they have a lovely sweet taste, they are the best.
I sowed them this year! Not one germinated! I'll try new beans..thank you! Danny 🌱
Typical Welsh weather! At least it saved you time by watering your plot 😂. I always enjoy watching your videos. Your channel is informative and your plot is inspiring. Keep up the hard work!
I love your account name. I love sandwiches haha! Why thank you very much! Glad you enjoy my channel. Welsh weather hey! 🌧
I look forward to your videos. The blight has started on my tomatoes
In sussex. So it's damage limitation now. 🤦♀️
Thank you so much! Oh no! It's that time of year.. moisture and some heat. Terrible business.
Hi Danny,
I can't believe the rain you have had! It seems to have missed us this time. Instead, we were recorded as the hottest place in the UK on Monday with a temperature of 34.8c, so it was so odd watching you in rain☔️ while we roasted!!! 🥵
I've grown scarlet empire the last two years.
Danny 🌱
You’re a legend Danny, I’m sitting inside on a rainy day in Queensland and won’t be going out in it for anyone 😂. I’m recovering from a buster that ended with 26 stitches in my leg, I’m realising it will be an issue with my seed raising for spring planting. Never mind, it’ll get done in the end 💚
Oh ouch!!!!! Flashback to my ribs! But we plod on & it gets better. Sorry to hear you're in some discomfort. Take care. Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel I thought of your ribs too and the struggle to get seedlings in and jobs that needed doing. I gather my start to spring will be similar but it’ll work out in the end Danny.
@angietaylor5311 it was a struggle! But I got there & so will you 😊🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel thanks Danny ♥️
