I wanna give some more additional context for oversea bros outside of thailand. the thai word for shellfish that has the slang meaning is not the worst part of the tongue twister. when you flub this particular tongue twister, it will bait you to say even more yabai thai words, i.e. the word for the hair in the nether regions, and an extremely vulgar word for vagina.
Basically wrong articulation will turn Grandma Moy and Mhee into Grandma P_bic hair and P_ssy

depending on tone you say the meaning changes
there are 5 tones in Thai
In both Grandma's name uses lowest tone, which is common name in thailand
Me,Hoy uses highest tone means bear and shellfish
He,Moy also uses highest tone means vagina and **hair
While shellfish(Hoy) can be slang for vagina, it's not the whole point of this tounge twister

A more accurate way to describe how it messes you up is that the first phrase _yai mi liang hoi_ gives you an order of first consonants: "y m l h", so when the second phrase _yai moi liang mi_ comes around, which has the order: "y m l m" with an m at the end instead of the h that your brain expected, it messes with you and will likely cause you to say _yai moi liang hi_ instead of _yai moi liang mi_ which would mean "Grandma Moi raises a vagina" instead of "Grandma Moi raises a bear"
Also, _moi_ is said in a different tone than _mi_ but if you're caught off guard then you might apply the same tone to _moi_ which will make it have the meaning of "pubic hair"

The tongue twister sets you up like this: the first phrase _yai mi liang hoi_ sets you up with an order of first consonants; y m l h, so when the second phrase _yai moi liang mi_ comes around, the m sound instead of the h sound at the end throws you off, so you end up saying _hi_ instead, which means vagina.
Another choke point in the tongue twister is the name of the second grandma: _yai moi_ (Grandma Moi), as her name in the original sentence is said in a mid tone, but _mi_ which means bear, is said in the rising tone. _moi_ in a rising tone means pubic hair, which you might accidentally apply (the rising tone) to _moi_ if you're already struggling to say the tongue twister, due to the words _mi_ and _hoi_ both being in a rising tone.
That's when *"THE SOUND LEVEL"* kicks in. If you thinks *"ไม้ใหม่ไม่ไหม้" = Mai Mai Mai Mai* is confusing enough, you have just dealt with the bare minimum of Thai language. That sentence doesn't have any tongue twister, yet many people confused with its karaoke. Add the tongue twisters in and you will be boomed with hazardous amounts of yabai words come out of your mouth unintentionally.
ไม้ = Mai(L) voice 2 - tone 3
ใหม่ = Mai(H) voice 1 - tone 1
ไหม้ = Mai(H) voice 2 - tone 2 that tone same as ไม่ = Mai(L) voice 1 - tone 2
ไหม = Mai(H) base voice - tone 4

The sus part isn't about the shellfish. It's a tongue twister that is fine when the pronunciation is correct, but becomes dirty if you mess up
The Thai word for shellfish has suggestive meaning of vagina because of the animal’s shape. The Thai word for bear sounds close to the Thai very dirty word (equivalent to English c word) because of its tone and how it’s written, but the initial sound is different. These words are so overused in a yabai way these days, it’s starting to get annonying. Even tv shows abuse the use of them because they will never get censored. As for this tongue twister, there are both shellfish and bear in it, but if you make mistake, you will get either the c word outright (using shellfish’s initial sound on bear), or the dirty word for pubes (using bear’s initial sound on shellfish).
Not only that seashells are slang for female reproductive organ, but if your tongue slipped, you will eventually say "pubic hair". Also, a bear sounds close enough for the actual word for the reproductive organ. So

FYI about how hard Biboo told : Thai Language is a Tone Language... precisely a language with 5 tones per each [sole word] . Fake example just for simple understanding, It's like if you combine Do, Re, Me, Fa, Sol together in how you pronounce the word [bread] and *bang* you get 5 different types of bread... something like that (and each one word can combine to another... like horse+water = seahorse ... just to made it more complicated 😂)
Tonal languages do be like that. My mom's studied two to some degree (Russian and Chinese) and lowkey detests that structure as a result...
Russian is apparently particularly bad because unlike many it doesn't bother adding helpful markings to the writing.
