Oh Gosh - I am a nurse, and a lot of over the counter meds are just as dangerous as some other classes of drugs!! If this lady cant handle her children on a flight, then why the hell is she taking them on the flight!?! Its just ridiculous! I have two children, and both have gone of flights and long trips in the car and never once even considered sedating them - just disgusting! What a lazy mother she is!!! Well done Sonia!
As if the other passengers would be thinking 'God the baby won't stop crying...I wish they would just drug them.'

using drugs on a child. I don't care how stressed a parent you are. If you drug your child and your child died from a reaction. The law would come down on you like an iron fist. It is morally wrong. children should be taught how to behave in a respectful manner in a respectful way. Drugging them is irresponsible and dangerous.

what if you sedated your child for the reasons talked about and the child has a reaction to the drug and dies. what view would the law take?
I'm sure she would of tested them first.

I do not agree. There have been babysitters and day care providers that gave babies Benadryl and the baby died. I used to go on cross country trips with my folks in the US and we had plenty of toys, crayons, music, etc.

wow, I can not believe this! I am a nanny and I have taken many children on long flights twelve hours and up to eighteen hours, ages from babies to under five. one set of children were, a baby a 14 month old a three year old.
it would never think of giving them drugs ever. While it is not easy, you learn ways to entertain them, you bring toys, draw, tell stories. mostly I am told how well the children behave, most of the time, the children fall asleep, so there is not too much awake time.
The doctor spoke well on this show, but the two women were both scary.
Sad to say, this is normal now. It is bad parenting to drug children in any case.

lemsip how did you find that out? I hope that it is true, social services, should be involved and she should loose those children, also that doctor should be questioned about why he did not report her, he is a mandated reporter.

im not a mother yet but until i become one i dont care if they are being disruptive as long as they arent kicking the back of another persons seat they can do what they want, to a point. I know i will be in control of my own kids and what goes in and out of their mouths an it wont be an antihistamine
My mother did this to me when I was a baby/toddler. I think that there is a case for it given that the changing air pressures and such, in the plane, tend to irritate the babies ears and cause them to cry. I wouldn't personally do it though.

I think most parents are really good whilst taking care of their children on planes , in my experience I've heard some cries here and there, but that's what they do I suppose. Usually if the child has a game to play, something to watch and snacks they're happy , no?
These reckless mothers think that pregnant women shouldn't be wrapped up in cotton wool. No, but they shouldn't be attempting anything they haven't done before either or dangerous sports. Riding a bicycle is recommended for pregnant women as a form of exercise but learning to ride a bicycle is ridiculous for them. I've noticed many women falling off bicycles because they never learnt to ride them in childhood.

what is EQUALLY ANNOYING is that there is a doctor sat right oposite her and she hasnt even listened to a word he has said! What i think she is doing, at this point is not even listening to a doctors advice, and, going on her own which i think is completely and utterly wrong and stating she knows best - better than a doctor! Admit you've made a mistake and try and correct yourself...
No I don't believe it is. With children come sacrifices. Sorry the long haul flights will have to be avoided untill they are ready. Selfish person. Selfish mother. Oh and how wonderfully empathetic to think of other passengers. Excuses excuses.

i listened to the darker woman speak and say her piece but when i have children i couldnt do that. In my head its wrong and maybe my kids (when i have them) maybe a little disruptive but id keep on top of them. I just dont agree with it.
In a way its like when someone sees you distraught and having a rough time of it out and about, they tell you they can give you something to ease the pressure off (drugs) and the first ones a freebe the seccond and third they are going to cost you... but if you see what im saying here - someone else has suggested it to her, obviously, seeing how stressed she was becoming with her kids - thinking they are doing her a favour and instead of retreating in horror shes gone for the easy option, shes tried it out, seen that it works and sees it as a doddle...
and the way she has explained it is how shes justified it in her head but these tablets she is giving her children are for hayfever tablets - alone!!
And to hear her three yr old takes these tablets i dont think its right - at all.
and... how many long trips does she have to make? A week - a month? How often is she doing this?
+alcudiababe1 so a 16month old a 2yr old and a three yr old are all getting the allergy tablets??? Way too young - my sister had allergies growing up but my parents didnt give her tablets until she was a good age to take them!!!
Sonia I love you’re well, and I agree with you. However, you’d be so much more effective in these discussions if you didn’t speak over the other person. It’s got to be just maddening, but the cool approach is the more effective and will highlight you being he balanced person in he debate (argument). I love your work and forward a lot of your vids. i might give an annoyed look sometimes but then, im sure the parents would have something to say back and if i did see them again, i doubt they would do that on behalf of me and others it would be shut up and keep out of it, and how dare you get involved - until you have children u have no right to give us any look....
so i very much doubt they'd feel the need to drug their children because of me or several others finding it too much
I don't know about "drugging" children but I think annoying young kids should be banned from public transport. They obviously don't enjoy it.

Both of these women are utterly vile, if you ask me. While I veer towards Poulton's position, I can't bring myself to agree with her because she's such a shrieking harpy, but Sibary's just as bad; I pity her kids because she's made a career out of humiliating them!
