I really enjoyed this video. You presented some great cheaper alternatives. That said, I would like to point out that the 6” clamp you said was from Rockler is actually the spring loaded clamp, which is awesome btw. That clamp is more expensive, but it is because it is not a typical trigger clamp. They do offer a clamp that is comparable to the Jorgensen that is $15. Still more expensive, but not $22.
The spring loaded is awesome because you don’t have to squeeze it more than 2-3 times. The first squeeze is to release it directly on your work piece and the next 1-2 squeezes is just to tighten it. I thought it was just a gimmick at first, and made my own by placing a wide rubber band on a normal trigger clamp which worked the same, however when I got the spring loaded clamps I found it way better. When I bought it the first time, they were on sale for 50% off. I couldn’t pass it up, so I bought 2 to try out. If you keep an eye out, they do go on sale every now and then. After you buy it the first time, you will see the convenience immediately.
Yeah I did notice that it was a spring clamp but I did not see the other version when I was searching for comparisons. That being said, I worry about extra moving parts like adding a spring for assistance… durability, longevity, etc. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave your comment. It is greatly appreciated 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Jorgensen clamps are great!
I agree… I do have a couple of different brands in my shop but everything I buy now is from them
I have been using the glue for a while now and it is great. I do not have a problem with it hardening up around the opening like I did with the stuff from Rockler.
Unfortunately it’s gonna happen… Just keep it as clean as possible right after each use
I bought my biscuit Jointer at Harbor Frieght for around the same price as Amazon. However after seeing this video I paid big box store price for biscuits. Will be ordering from Amazon from now on.
Glad I could find you some savings 👍🏼
Amazon is a no brainer for many different types of items. It's just less expensive, so why spend more? I'm an Amazon Prime member and getting everything I order at my door in 2 days is the bomb!
You might be surprised how many people think buying from Amazon is a horrible thing. 90% of the stuff we purchase is made in China (even the stuff from the big box stores and the specialty woodworking stores). If I can save 25 to 75% And have it dropped off at my door… I’m gonna do it every single time. I appreciate you watching and taking time to leave a comment!!
Thank You even watching your videos over and over I still learn something new
I really appreciate that. Glad someone is getting something out of what I have to offer 👍🏼👍🏼
great info
Thank you so much. Hopefully you can find a few items to save yourself some money that you need and use out in your shop
I know that you have done these types of videos before. Another good source would be Harbor Freight. I don't believe that they have the screws, and biscuit joiner and biscuits. They do have the clamps, brad nails.
I have a harbor freight right down the street from me but honestly, I don’t think I’ve been in there more than twice. A lot of people recommend some of their products so eventually I will check them out 👍🏼
This, by far, was one of my favorites... i been looking for that CA glue at lowes and Home Depot, but i never found it. I have been thinking about biscuit jointer, but i didn't want to pay premium price . Ty once again
A biscuit joiner is going to help you line things up so much easier and for this price, you really can’t go wrong. Thanks for always taking the time to leave a comment 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you. I didn’t know a biscuit joiner was that cheap. The last time I looked one was around $200
I don’t remember the brand
I know that buying something like this is not going to be a tool I pass down to my grandchildren… But that being said, it’s accurate and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do
Porter cable, DeWalt, etc. they’re all 200+
Yep, I use the Amazon sandpaper, have for over a year, they work super. I too use the biscuit jointer and have used it on many projects and bought the biscuits from Amazon in the bulk pack, they work great too.
Thanks for the confirmation… The sandpaper is just as good as anything I have bought and the biscuit joiner does what it’s supposed to do. Don’t know why people would pay three or four times that amount of money for the same job to be done
excellent vid. However you need to do a bit more research....biscuits add NO more strength to a joint. They help with alignment only. And for that they are very useful.
I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment and agree that they assist with alignment but will disagree that it does nothing to strengthen the joint. Anytime you have additional glue surfaces, you strengthen the joint. Here’s an article from rockler talking about doweling vs biscuit joinery. In that article they mentioned a test done way back in 2006… That article is also worth a read
www.rockler.com/learn/doweling-vs-biscuit-joints
I got my biscuit joiner off marketplace for pretty cheap and I don't have a domino but from what I've read they really aren't comparable for strength. The biscuit joiner is good for glue ups and alignment but these days they don't add much strength with the quality of glue we have.
Someone else mentioned the alignment issue and I agree completely with that. Anything you add to a joint, biscuit, dowel, domino, spline etc. strengthens that joint. Anything you’re making it requires structural strength, anything that holds weight, you’re probably going to screw that in place anyway. Just my opinion
The ca glue you were talking about price on Amazon must be US site , in Canada the price is much higher ?????
I am based in Houston Texas so I would assume that’s the case. Sorry I can’t do anything about that 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Clean and useful presentation. Thank you. Subscribed.
I really appreciate that. Welcome to the channel 🤟🏼
How do you like the biscuit jointer? I just got it and haven’t used it yet. I’ve gotten several Wen products and haven’t been disappointed yet. Especially the dust filter. Hung it up in my shop and wow what a difference in the fine dust settling
I got it about a week ago and I have played around with it and I can say it does what it is supposed to do. It cuts biscuits and the measurements on the adjustable guides seem to be accurate. I thought about buying that dust collection system but I’m also thinking about making my own. I definitely need it
@@NuKraftWorkshop I have 2 of their air cleaners that hang from the ceiling, 400cfm. Amazing at clearing the air at a great price.
@dian3145 good to know. It might save me from building my own 👍🏼
Does the CA glue come in thin, med, and thick...and does it come in black and brown? if not that is why many woodworkers use Starbond.
I honestly don’t know because I only use medium. If I had the need for a small bottle of brown or black to fill in on some projects, I could always add a small bottle from another brand.
Do you ever check the prices in Amazon Canada?
I do not… I have heard from a couple people that watch these videos that it is a bit different for you but 94.8% of my viewers are in the US so I apologize for people outside of the country getting different pricing.
I just bought a no name drill press. Best one I've ever had!
I get it. I don’t buy name brand unless I know it’s worth it
Norm made some beautiful furniture using biscuits.
He absolutely did 👍🏼👍🏼
Do you guys have a problem with the cap getting glued on the ca glue bottle after about the second use?
I always have glue issues 😂😂. But seriously, I just wipe it down after each use and make sure the cap is on. The only issue I’ve had is occasionally having to poke a hole in the end to get the glue flowing again
@@NuKraftWorkshopI think the key phrase in your answer was wipe it down after each use.
I kinda didn't do that.
Since it's CA glue what did you use to wipe it off?
@a9ball1 as soon as I’m done using it I wipe it off with a paper towel. Anything else just wanted to stick together… Especially your fingers😂
@@NuKraftWorkshop huge thanks for actually responding to my question. Subscriber for life!
I really appreciate that. I do my best and I think I have gotten a chance to respond to every single message since I started this channel 👍🏼
Harbor fright have clamps a lot cheaper and work great.
Harbor freight clamps have a lot of deflection in them… Be real careful with that if you’re building anything requiring a panel to be glued up
@@NuKraftWorkshop I was talking about the trigger clamps. They work just as good. You can't put a lot of pressure on any trigger clamps any way.
Oh ok… I haven’t tried them so I’ll give them a look. I have a store right down the road from me.
@@NuKraftWorkshop Harbor Freight's relatively new Bremen line of parallel clamps and trigger clamps are excellent, and cost less than Jorgensen.
The Pittsburgh trigger clamps aren't as nice, but they work fine and are 1/3 the cost of Jorgensen. I've used them to clamp and spread beams for deck roofs. They are strong.
Good to know. I have been faithful to Jorgensen for a while and haven’t tried anything else outside of some rocker clamps I bought a couple years back. I’ll have to give them a look
Would you say the sliding arm on your delta is better then traditional slides? I'd like to upgrade but cant decided on sliding armsm
I watched a ton of review videos and read a bunch of articles before I purchased this saw. One of the things that concern me was how much deflection the blade would have when the arms were fully extended and this ranked among the best. That being said, I very rarely extend this saw all the way out. I can’t tell you the last time I have put a 2 x 12 or a 16 inch wide piece of lumber on this thing, if ever at all. But yes… I would highly recommend this saw.

Thanks

I use 180, 220 and 320 grits on the sandpaper. I just get the cheapest. My last 100 pack was $10.
This stuff I’ve been using is great. Give it a try next time you need some
I’ve had my Porter Cable biscuit joiner for years - so I didn’t pay $290.00 for it - But it’s a damn good tool. One 1 star rating doesn’t mean anything.
I’m not knocking Porter cable… I’m just saying that the price difference is massive and not justified for someone who doesn’t use their biscuit joiner all day long, every day🤟🏼
The ca glue is definitely a good deal.
Yep. I use a lot of it so it’s a big savings in my shop. Have you tried this brand yet?
I have not but it’s in my amazon list to get next time I run out of the current brand I’m using. Currently using the kraken brand.
@jeronimomacias481 never tried that but I will say that the one in the video works and I’ve had no issues
Sorry. I'll pay more to support my local American owned businesses before I give Bezos and China any more than I have to. Granted, most everything these days is made in other countries (mostly China). But more of my dollar is kept in country by buying local. They buy in bulk and get wholesale pricing. So, China gets a smaller cut. And I don't have to wait on a delivery service to bring my damaged in transit product that someone might just take before I get home.
Couple things… I would be willing to bet that the majority of the things at your local store are also made overseas. Also… What local stores can you get woodworking supplies at? Rockler? Woodcraft? Those are not local… Those are franchises of a nationwide company. Almost everything you buy in your daily life (not just your woodworking supplies) supports those dreaded and evil rich people.
My channel caters to mostly beginners… People who do not do woodworking as a primary source of income nor have a ton of excess money to spend on a hobby.
I do appreciate you watching and commenting, it helps the channel 🤟🏼🤟🏼
