LOVE ALL THE STORAGE UNITS! I also am a 30’s reproduction collector of fabric. I have collected since they first were introduced around 1992. I made a hand pieced King size Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt top using 3/4” hexagons. I did the double path and used muslin for the paths. I love it 😍
I have to tell you, I get more joy out of looking at how you have arranged all of your things. And your rooms are not that big either. But you’ve made it such a happy place and it looks bigger than it is on the video. But it shows you what illusions can do if you know how to arrange your furniture and all your lovely quilts, and all the other little heart, Momentos. I intend to watch your video a few more times. I do share it with other people that I know. But after I have put it in my brain, how to do some of these things after looking at your video, I’m going to apply some of your concepts in my sewing area that I’ve been working on slowly. I say slowly because I really just didn’t know how to do it. But now I have some very good concrete ideas. Again, thank you for taking your time to share your special things. You really have done a lovely job.
What a beautiful sewing rooms! Wonderful ideas and collections…I think I’ll have to watch these videos a couple of times, just makes me happy to see all your quilts and collections, just beautiful !☺️
Hi Susan!! I just found you, too, and I have been binge watching your videos. I love, love, love all the eye candy you show!!! I also collect toy sewing machines and I used to be a mohair bear maker, so I enjoy seeing the teddies, too. Your quilts are just awesome! The 30’s fabrics are also my favorites, along with the Lori Holt fabrics, and you are right, they do go together very well. I am so excited that Janet from Crafty Cottage Stitches Flosstube told her viewers to watch you, which is what I did. I’m so glad you are here showing us your wonderful creativity. Happy stitching and quilting til next time!! ❄️☃️❄️🧵🪡🧵💕💕💕
Cathy, thank you so much! I am new to cross stitch so I have enjoyed watching flosstube and Janet and Heather. I would love to be able to stitch like they do. So nice you love 30’s too and you make mohair bears! How cute and what treasures for sure!
What an absolutely beautiful sewing and storage rooms. I just love how you decorated. I'm a big fan of Lori Holt and I can tell your sewing room is your happy place.
Your idea for displaying your bowls is great. I got the containers you suggested and stacked them in my batter bowl sets. I had to take the lids off because they showed, but they worked great to show all four bowls. I also use my 30's & 40's small bowls in my sewing room to hold safety pins, and clips, etc. Your rooms are beautiful. Thanks
Hi Sue! A dear friend of mine sent me your videos. I watched Part 1 and Part 2 of your 2 rooms for sewing. I have to say, I am still in shock!!! Lol I have seen other videos before of other people's sewing rooms, and they are beautiful. Yours is tops! I have to say I am ready to move right into those 2 rooms you have. I need a single bed though. Lol You have done the most wonderful job I have ever seen of decorating and especially displaying all the antiques and filling them with fabric. I am crazy for antiques. You also did a wonderful video and you did not go fast. It was perfect! Thanku for your videos and I am a new subscriber!!! How could I not be! God Bless you for all the wonderful things you do and especially sharing so much in the way of sewing and your expertise. Blessings😊
I have loved watching all the videos I can find posted of yours. You have an awesome ability for decorating! Your quilts are amazing! So glad I found your channel!!!
Wow, so neatly organized. I like your mini purple quilts and may have to make one as I have a little rocking chair that was my son's when he was young and it would be fun to drape a tiny quilt over it and maybe use it for a grandchild one day or any young visitor. (-:
Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring! Everything about your spaces are beautiful but I especially love your little vignettes. They bring such personality to every spot in your rooms! And your lamps make it so cozy and welcoming! I can see how much enjoyment you receive here!
This is just amazing! What a great sewing room tour. You're very talented, and have a great eye for decorating and organizing. Thank you for sharing. Its just breathtakingly beautiful.
Thank you for another wonderful tour of your fabric/sewing room! Your impressive stash of 30's fabrics is right up my ally!! Can't wait to see more of your quilts and other projects.
Just finished watching Sewing Room Tour Part 2! What a magical place you have created. You are making me want to bring out my Muffy Bear and Hoppy Hare collection and display them in my office/sewing room! So happy to have found your channel. I am a somewhat new quilter but a very old😉cross stitcher and embroiderer. I, too, am a huge Lori Holt fan and love her sewing room as well! Take care and thank you for sharing!
Janice, thank you so much for watching! I am new to cross stitch And I really love seeing what others have done. So nice you have your Muffy and Hoppy bears.
Beautiful sewing and storage rooms… thank you so much for the tours. I’m enjoying catching up on past videos since I discovered your TH-cam channel. So glad you decided to started recording. Everything is such a feast for the eyes! As you are showing us how to make items from your sewing room I would really like to see how you make the fabric stars. You have made so many pretty things and displayed them so beautifully!
What an amazing, space you have, Susan. I just love everything! You have the magic touch for decorating your home. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing more videos. I've binge watched all your other videos.
I’m so happy that other people can see and enjoy all the wonderful things you do and how you decorate your home!! And it’s so fun the read the comments and see the ladies that share the love of the 1930’s fabrics:) Love your inspiring videos❤️
Thank you for sharing your wonderful sewing rooms...the nicest I've ever seen! They are truly cozy and inspirational spaces. Your furniture is beautiful - you have lovely taste. Have a great day.
Hello Suzan, first off I love the fact that your name is spelled like mine. We must have be about the same age and had mother’s who wanted something a little bit different for there daughters.I also love the pictures of you and your sister. I lost my sister in January and I am feeling the loss keenly. Your sewing rooms are beautiful, the attention to details is fun. The tiny singer machines and the muffy bears are so cute. I would love for you to do a trunk show of all of your beautiful quilts. How fun that would be. Suzan ladybugcottage
Suzan, you are absolutely right about the spelling of our names! My mom too wanted something a little different. It is nice to see another Suzan with a “z”. I am so sorry about the loss of your sister in January. My heart goes out to you. Thank you for watching and I hope to do a trunk show in the future. I am new at this and I really appreciate your kind comments and suggestions. Take care.
Your videos are so beautiful and inspiring! I’m a crossstitcher who has just started quilting, a few easy peasy beginner quilts. I’m slowly working on two of Lori’s appliqué quilts: Flowers and My Happy Place. Your displays are so sweet! I’m looking forward to viewing your previous videos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! 🧵🪡✂️♥️
Thank you so much for watching. I am a new cross stitcher and still trying to catch on. So nice you are quilting. I think cross stitch and quilts compliment each other and make decorating so cute.
That is the most beautiful and organized sew room and storage of all your treasures. Makes me want to use the spare bedroom for all my fabrics . Thank you for sharing.
@@pigtailquiltingstitching5635 Thank you. I hope you are able to locate it. It’s very unique. It looks like you used some American Jane fabrics which I love. PM
Thank you for the wonderful tour of your sewing space. Your fabric storage room looks like a cute sewing store. Your Flirt table mat turned out great! So neat and tidy.
Wow this was fantastic. You have so many good ideas and have a wonderful eye what compliments your sewing. I thoroughly enjoyed both of your sewing room tours, and look forward to future videos.
I love your videos. Just found you few days ago. I wish my sewing room looked like yours. Everything you have is amazing. It’s inspired me to start quilting more I’ve been cross stitching lately. I look forward to all your upcoming videos
Wanda, thanks so much for watching. I really enjoy quilting and I want to do more cross stitch. I am a beginner with cross stitch, but looking forward to doing more.
I am so inspired! I appreciate how you’ve decorated while keeping it uncluttered. I just now went to Etsy and found a vintage melamine lunch tray in red to sit by my Singer Featherweight. I have a dozen amazing vintage sewing machines that I love. I don’t even own a modern machine. They are all I use. I was able to make a tiny four patch block using my toy Singer. I have it on display under the presser foot. I’d like to be added to the request for a tutorial on the folded star. I’m making the award ribbons for a quilt show this fall. I think that could be an option.
Ann, your vintage tray sounds adorable and making the tiny four patch block for your toy machine is so creative! Sewing on your vintage machine is so wonderful and truly inspiring. Thanks for watching and I will be doing the fabric star tutorial on a future video.
You're such an inspiration to me as a beginner quilter! I was wondering, even though this video was a while ago and the fabric is probably older again, if you could tell me the name of the fat quarter bundle at 6:59. at the bottom right hand side next to your jelly rolls with the brown ribbon? It's gorgeous! Thank you for your lovely videos.
LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your decor!! Love the cozy feel I get watching you take us around viewing your darling house. We have similar size rooms in our house. I just found you today and could not stop watching! My decorating style is very similar to yours, I too, love to decorate w/quilts and cross stitch, esp. for each season! Two questions, where did you find your darling red cutting mat and do you make a mess like most of us when you pull out what you need for your next project? I can't imagine! LOL
Tanya, I am happy you found my channel! Thank you for watching. My red cutting mat was purchased from my local quilt store, Quilt A Way. It is a Bee in My Bonnet from Lori Holt called Cute Cuts. And yes I certainly do make a mess when getting out my fabric and making my quilts! I think that is part of the fun.
@@pigtailquiltingstitching5635 Thank you so much for responding! I have the pink Lori Holt pattern stand (forget what you call it), but I have a big quilt pattern book that covers it up(sitting in it), ha. Yours are so cute as part of your decor! I have a sewing/stitching/quilting 'barn' that I create in and make such a mess when attempting to start a new project! LOL
Hi Susan. I just found you, and I'm really enjoying all of your beautiful displays. Seeing your little Muffy bear reminded me that I collected her, as well. So I got her out of my closet, and started decorating a little with her. So much fun. I'm looking forward to seeing how you tie your quilts. I have many quilts, but many of them are put away in my cedar chest. I plan to start displaying them a little more. I love the way you hang your quilts on the wall. They are flat against the wall. Do you pin them? Thank you for sharing with all of us. Diane
Thank you Diane. So nice you are getting your quilts out and enjoying them! It is so fun to use our Muffy Bears to decorate with as well. I do use straight pins with a flat head. The old fashioned straight pins. I gently use a hammer and tap the pin and it only makes a pin size hole in the quilt as well as the wall.
I have watched your videos several times. I love your decor and beautiful quilts. Your sewing areas are so neat and orderly. Do they ever get messy? I am always fighting the battle of tidying up!!
I love your sewing room and how you display all your quilts and fabric. I like the idea of storing fabric in the dressers. Do you line the drawers with anything? I have heard that lignin from the wood will stain fabric over time.
Thank you Cindy! I did not line my drawers. My two dressers are not real wood in the drawers. I have also heard that too. It might be a good idea to line just in case.
PLEASE PLEASE CAN YOU DO A VIDEO SHOWING ALLLLLLL YOUR LITTLE SEWING MACHINES ??? I LOVE THEM , THEY ARE SO CUTE AND YOU HAVE COLLECTED SO MANY...PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT THEM AND HOW U GOT THEM.....I WOULD LOVE ONE OF THOSE LITTLE METAL SINGERS OMG TOO ADORABLE !!!!!!!!.
That is a great idea to do a video in my toy sewing machines. I am still new at this and sometimes I don’t see messages when they are sent. I am trying to do better. Thank you for watching too!
Will you please show us how to make the bows hanging your quilts? I made grand mother flowers garden 1992. Had a Amish lady in Lancaster Co. Pa. do the quilting. It is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your home.
Carol, I have a video planned to show how I make the fabric ties for my quilts. Thanks so much for watching. Your Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt sounds wonderful!
Can you tell me what type floss or yarn you have in jars that are short, with large brown wrappers? I love every single thing, and can’t wait for the quilt tie video!
Terry, thank you for watching! The yarn in the brown wrappers were from a boxed set that came from Hobby Lobby. I don’t know if they still have them. It was awhile ago. Let me know if this is not the floss/yarn you are referring to.
Hi. Thank you for sharing your sewing space. Where did you get the cutting mat that is on your island? I have been looking for a coral colored mat (or is that pink/red?). Either way, I love it.
Elizabeth thank you! The cutting mat is from Lori Holt. Bee in My Bonnet. I believe Fat Quarter Shop sells them. I purchased mine from my local quilt shop The Quilt A Way.
Cindy, I store my yellow and green fabrics in the other room. I did a part 1 quilt room tour and showed where I keep more fabric, strips and fat quarters. Check out that video and it will explain more about my storage. Thanks for watching!
Sorry so slow in responding, I use a board that is a certain weight. I have it cut to fit my book case and shelves. I did a video earlier and show what type of board it is. I will look back and see if I can recall it and then let you know. If you have time look for the video I did on organizing my fabric on boards.
Love your videos. Would you share what pattern was used to make the small quilt hanging on the tin barn door. It was in a video dated Sept. 23, 2021. I love your style and how you use the 30’s fabrics. I’m a fan of those fabrics, too. TFS.
Thank you so much! I am trying to remember the pattern. It was made long ago. It had wide borders to show off the cute fabric. If I remember I will let you know.
Angela, I think I accidentally lost your question on my latest video about the fabric ties. Did you ask me about if the quilt gets folds when tied? The quilt does get wrinkled at the top but comes out when folded and smoothed out.
Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for the sweet quilt on your ottoman, made with flirt fabric. I couldn’t find it on Mo Star tutorials. I have two charm packs of Flirt fabric. Thank you so much

Yes, Deb my sewing room does get messy! That is part of the process when quilting, but in between projects I tidy it up. Thank you for watching!
I love love your style,videos!
Thank you Kathy!
Another question. I’m admiring your cabinet shelf that you’re storing your fabrics. Thanks
@@pigtailquiltingstitching5635 I think it is. They are just very striking. Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful. You have such an eye for decorating. Can I borrow you?😁
:)
Beautiful. Where do you store your yellow and green fabrics?
Cindy, I store my yellow and green fabrics in the other room. I did a part 1 quilt room tour and showed where I keep more fabric, strips and fat quarters. Check out that video and it will explain more about my storage. Thanks for watching!
What kind of boards do you use for your fabrics? Your sewing room is adorable! I came across your videos just tonight.
I would love for you to do a tutorial of your stars.
Sure! I will add that to my list of ideas for future videos! Thank you for the suggestion!
Angela, I think I accidentally lost your question on my latest video about the fabric ties. Did you ask me about if the quilt gets folds when tied?
The quilt does get wrinkled at the top but comes out when folded and smoothed out.
Love the tour! Absolutely beautiful place to work. Where do you get your yarn?
Thanks Therese!! The yarn is form Hobby Lobby.

Hello Suzan, did you do the counted cross stitch that is about sisters. If so where did you get the pattern?
Suzan,
I did not make the sister cross stitch. I found that at a thrift store and thought it was so special.
@@pigtailquiltingstitching5635 don’t you love finding treasures in thrift and antique stores
Suzan, I love finding these treasures!
Will you be doing some sewing tutorial soon ?
I sure can. I have so many ideas for future videos...so stay tuned!
Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for the sweet quilt on your ottoman, made with flirt fabric. I couldn’t find it on Mo Star tutorials. I have two charm packs of Flirt fabric. Thank you so much
Shirley, I found it on TH-cam, Make a Hearts and Kisses Table Topper with Misty Doan at Home Video Tutorial. Missouri Star Quilt Co.
@@pigtailquiltingstitching5635 thank you so much!❤️
Where do you find those mini sewing machine at…so cute…
I've been collecting them for years... Some from eBay, some gifts from my husband, and antique stores. I'm always on the hunt!
Ok thank you
