Quick speech: The term "national treasure" may be overused, but Stewart Copeland has earned it. Patriot, musical innovator, skilled raconteur, prolific father, consummate performer -- this man has left his mark on the world, in the best way. Charge your glasses and hoist them now: Here's to Stewart Copeland -- huzzah! 🤠
Copeland is incredible....Sting has lost his venom. Saw him in concert a few years ago. Annie Lennox was the intro act, and she was far superior in both voice and presence. Sting was great... but has not been for many, many years now.
Excellent renditions of the Police Videos. Thank you. I'm glad I got to see the Police at the height of the band's fame. Rochester, NY, Summer of 1983 at now long demolished Aquinas (Hollander) Stadium. I remember winning tickets to the Synchronicity tour after naming the song question from a local radio station of the Hollies, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." Concert line-up - The Flock of Seagulls, The Fixx, and the Police. First song of the Police, "King Of Pain," Sting on Bass, a back-up musician on key boards behind him attempting to play the opening chords to King of Pain, but is doing the wrong chords.. Sting was a "Perfectionist." Quite irritated, he walks back, bends over the keyboard and shows the player how to play the correct chords. Anyway, a fantastic outdoor, afternoon concert. But my one take away was that funny opening moment with "King Of Pain." 🙂
I have some Police VHS tape from the 90s, that is similar to this. Its Stewart introducing every video, but they show the whole nusic video for each song chronologically. Been awhile since ive seen it
Stewart’s zest for life and intelligence is so endearing. As a bass guitar player, I would’ve loved an opportunity to get in a room with that guy and make a noise. Such an incredible talent.
I feel so fortunate to say that The Police were my first ever gig back in 2007 during their reunion tour. I saw them in Cardiff on 19th Oct. It was incredible getting to see Stewart play all of those amazing songs live. Having The Police as my first concert kinda set the bar too high for future gigs haha.
When I was a young teen back in 83, 84 I loved everything I could get my hands on by The Police ! Turned adult in 85 and real life hit. When I hear them now, aahhh ! Life turns happy and simple again ! Thank You guys ! ❤
Seeing Stewart Copeland playing the Saturn V is a pivotal moment in my musical upbringing. Probably my first awareness of "COOL". I was probably about 7 or 8 years old and we were about to go out, but I stood there in front of the TV stalling so I could watch him play just a little longer.
1. Zenyatta Mondatta (my graduation year and all time favorite album, equal 1st with the Long Run and Glass Houses). 2. Ghost in the Machine (my 1st true girlfriend). 3. The rest i love equally. 4. There should have been more!
I’ll be watching you was released when my girlfriend left me for another guy. As much as I enjoyed the Police and this song , it haunted me daily as the local station would play it over and over. I can remember where I was on several occasions 41 years ago. Creepy 😟
You seldom hear about sibling rivalry between him and Miles. It either was very underdeveloped or very overdeveloped. I can't get all Freud about it, but it must have factored heavily into his association with Sting.
3:45 Technically any drummer that has played a Mapex Saturn five piece drumset has played a Saturn V. Considering the price point of Mapex sets, I suspect that's a lot of drummers.
My band! I love all of the Policemen, they are all so talented. Sting is a genius, Andy was the nicest. But in retrospect Stewart is the one i think I'd like to meet and spend time with. I miss them greatly.
You can tell Stewart still misses the police band ,and just wants to play in big stadiums ,and Tours ,,but sting wanted to go solo ,,dont know ,but must be because he made more money going solo ,as Freddie from Queen went solo ,but he always went bk to Queen,,but sting was different and wanted to play solo
Sometimes you reach a level of cool you can make uncool things cool, and in rare cases cool for everyone. Copeland made those shorts cool for him, but unfortunately it did not extend past his own wearing them.
The only drummer who can say he played a Saturn 5 space ship. Pretty cool.
Hahahahaha.

international treasure, I'd argue.
Stewart is not some simple 'yank american". he is worldly and much more broad minded than 99.9 % of americans.
Stewart is still one of the best, and coolest, drummers on the planet.
And Matt Cameron.
Phil
He’s barmy which always makes him interesting to listen too. I could listen to him for 24 hours straight no break.
It's literally hit after hit, love it! I saw Sting live with my dad last year and he still sounds and looks incredible, I can't believe he's 72!
My ex girlfriend said he looked better as he got older (that wasn’t the reason we broke up 😁)
Healthy living and an unwavering determination

Best drummer alive
Stuart is THE man. Classy, smart and musically so gifted and different.
His candid and self-deprecating humor makes him so likeable. He is genuinely cool.
The police always look to be having so much fun. It’s infectious ❤
in the first videos... yes...
I mean, you are drumming with a spaceship!
a spaceship !
We were a boy band. Best comment over! Stewart is a treasure.
😂❤😅❤
He gave the world The Police.
❤
Copeland being the biggest fan of Sting is the cutest thing ever
He discovered him, really. They made each other great.

Wow! The Police and The Fixx? What a show.
Love Stewart. Really one of three stars of the police.
Dear Sting, say thanks to This Genius.
Three geniuses in their own individual right
I have some Police VHS tape from the 90s, that is similar to this. Its Stewart introducing every video, but they show the whole nusic video for each song chronologically. Been awhile since ive seen it
Cool. I hope you can upload them
An articulate, interesting, funny and brilliant musician. Thanks for what you've brought to my life as a Police fan!
Supergrande Stewart Copeland 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Three talented pretty boys!
Love Stewart! Phenomenal rhythmist / drummer. The Police was a huge influence on me as a young musician, this was a real treat. Much Thanxs!
Love Stewart !!!
Supergenio Stewart Copeland 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
My favorite drummer!
Stewart’s zest for life and intelligence is so endearing. As a bass guitar player, I would’ve loved an opportunity to get in a room with that guy and make a noise. Such an incredible talent.
Yep ,you can tell he misses the band and playing in big rock stadiums ,,but it was all stings idea to break up and go solo
He looks great and I love the stories behind it. He seems so humble and down to earth with everything and has a great perspective.
GREAT DRUMMER !
I need to watch this video daily for epic happiness. LOVE YOU STEWART!
Thanks so much for sharing your memories. I had the biggest crush on you when I was in college 😂

I'm a tiny bit jealous of you, I missed their reunion tour. and it'll never happen again.
I'm gutted he didn't take a look back at 'Wrapped Around Your Finger'. That was surely a very memorable video.
Sting burned himself with candle wax on that one.
He hates that song... just an ego thing between him and sting
And Synchronicity
Same here. He absolutely hates that part where Sting starts tipping the candles over. Was hoping for some fun, scathing remarks, but oh well.
When I was a young teen back in 83, 84 I loved everything I could get my hands on by The Police ! Turned adult in 85 and real life hit. When I hear them now, aahhh ! Life turns happy and simple again ! Thank You guys ! ❤
Same here
Great drumming from Stewart 👍

Stuart! Great stuff here. Thanks for sharing! Look forward to seeing you with the Orchestra soon !
Every Breath You Take is my all time fave video, what an amazing song❤️
Love Stewart’s take on things, this was awesome!
You guys were awesome
You guys were incredible and a breath of fresh air for us public.
The Best Band❤
Still my Number One band 🎉 Legends !!
Love The Police and the Pretty Boys!
Como ele ainda é jovem ❤
So what about ‘Wrapped around around your finger’?? That video was really cool. And’Synchronicity II’ also. We need a part 2!
Stewart jumps high off that high ladder in Don’t Stand video. And you know they spelt Seezer wrong. The actress is Phoebe Cates cousin!
Paper hair toss is golden- the time it stands there right in the do.
That crazy that you wrote that. I always thought that girl resembled Phoebe Cates! Thank you for finally connecting that for me!
Sting dancing is magic.
Really like Stewart
playing saturn V rocket booster was the peak of a drummer career!
1. Ghost
2. Regatta
3. Zenyatta
4. Outlandos
5. Synchronicity
(My ranking)
1. Zenyatta Mondatta (my graduation year and all time favorite album, equal 1st with the Long Run and Glass Houses).
2. Ghost in the Machine (my 1st true girlfriend).
3. The rest i love equally.
4. There should have been more!
The Messieurs Copeland make we laugh....Love the laughter!
🔊 🎼 bass guitar 🎸 😊

Where were you at for the Don’t stand so close to me video? The room with the ladder.
Best one was Synchronicity 2 1983 music Video
Oh my goodness...They were like a boy band. Stewart Copeland's pictures covered my bedroom. He was my everything! PS....Still the hottest!!
Hi, Stew! Looking forward to seeing you with Oysterhead in the future!
Best moment in a music video:
Stewart bouncing wadded up paper off Sting's head.
A 👦 👨👦 👨👦👦 boy band like teachers 😊😮😮😮😮
come back to Canada and play the derangements with my other fave band, the mighty ESO?
Saturn 5!
Puff daddy sampled the guitar 🎸 riff😊
so why was Sting miming with a guitar instead of his bass in the walking on the moon clip?
Film 🎥 French music 🎶 🎵 😊
I always wondered why Sting is holding a six-string guitar and not his bass in the Walking On the Moon video, but sadly Stewart didn't reveal.
* "Sting had started out with his (fretted) _JazzBass_ ", is what he meant during the "Roxanne" clip 🙂
Pea tip🎉
You seldom hear about sibling rivalry between him and Miles. It either was very underdeveloped or very overdeveloped. I can't get all Freud about it, but it must have factored heavily into his association with Sting.
weird Copeland doesn't mention Sting playing a guitar in the walking on the moon video

He is so English, daft.👍
"And there were 'The Police', or, as they're now known, 'Sting'"
Dressing rooms back then were basically the same as a football team’s.
Only 17k views and 52 comments? Do kids nowadays even know The Police?
Why not "Wrap Around the Finger"?
An f1 rockectdyne engine to be exact..burning 3 tons of kerosene and liquid oxygen per second.
Stewart aged well..
