I just bought a new RB5 and I have a question. When I’m threading the machine, is it normal for the thread to actually rub along the corner of the machine from the top post to the tensioner. It just seems weird to me that it would be like that. Thanks
@@66Gordo right I couldn’t find much either. Seems like a lot of government work was performed with them like parachutes and stuff kinda cool but unfortunately it sold. Running my juki lu 1508 loving it but still would like one of those older consews

I have a question how do you adjust the foot press? Because I tray to do something with vinil and it peels bc is to tick and I don’t know how adjust the foot
You can adjust the presser foot bar. I honestly have never had to do that so I dont want to tell you any wrong information. I'd look on here for "adjusting the presser bar" or something close to that or ask a sewing machine store if you have one in the area.
I know there are a lot of different opinions on threading machines, but you're completely skipping the thread controller (silver disk under the tension disks). You have great looking machine, by the way. The paint job and table on my 206RBL-18 look like ass.
Hey thanks for the comment. I see it is missed on the video. I have never ran it like that I must of missed it when I threaded it for the video. I just did a new video on threading it and I had showed the right way it's supposed to be. Thanks again
I hate this machine. Constant jams, thread and bobbin thread break often, lots of vibration, knocking noises coming from several moving parts, the reverse jams the machine EVERY time, the laminate has separated from the table...The stitch length, timing and tension are fine and the oil level is as required by the manual but the machine performs poorly. The manual needs to be translated better and is worthless anyway. I have less than 20 hours on this. It was a waste of money and it's only value to me is a boat anchor.
Damn that sounds like it's a lemon of a machine. I dont know if the dealer you bought it from will compensate you in some way. Sorry to hear about your problems with the machine. The manual definitely isnt thorough at all. I do agree.
@@66Gordo I bought it thru Amazon. I tried to contact the seller and never got a response. I tried to send it back but UPS said the sddress was "undeliverablr". Amazon told me they couldn't do anything for me. Out of luck I guess.
Larry, stumbled upon your comments by accident. Sorry to hear about your sewing machine trouble ... Nothing more stressful than sewing machine problems. I made a couple of repair/maintenance videos on the 206RB-5 that will most likely help you. I don’t know how to do links but if you search for “Consew 206RB-5 maintenance” on TH-cam it’ll bring you to the two videos ... Part 1 and Part 2. The TH-cam Acct is “MTRC Crane”. If you follow all the steps ... in order ... I can almost guarantee that your sewing machine will run perfectly. I’ve been repairing/tuning sewing machines for nearly 30 years and made the videos for the guys in the program I currently work for. Best of luck ... Mike
Larry there are several things that will cause that, not just timing. Do you use a lubricated or waxed thread? Simply lubricating the thread will solve many problems. Even the tiniest burr on the hook, bobbin case or hook shuttle will cause problems. Sometimes there are tiny sharp fragments of metal on parts that cause the thread to shred & separate. Try lubricating first. I made one with a small suave hair paste container. Drilled two holes, one on each side just underneath the cap in the side of the container. thread goes in one side, out the other. Cut several round pucks out of felt & pressed them into the container. Bought a can of spray silicone & soaked the felt. Thread lightly drags across the felt inside of the container lubricating it. I used some 2 sided tape & stuck it to the top of the machine between the thread guide post where the thread first comes to the machine & the first tension guide. Works awesome & cheap!
I just received that same machine yesterday day. Very cool machine. Working on marine upholstery here in SC
....
Oh nice. Yeah mine has been a good work horse for me and paid for itself many of times. Hope yours does the same. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Gordo what’s the difference between this and the rb-3. About to pull the trigger and pick one up to add to the fleet hopefully
Hey I'm honestly not sure. I tried to Google it but I don't want to tell you anything I'm not 100% sure of. Thanks for watching and commenting

I hear ya. The old stuff is still around and working. They seem pretty bullet proof.

How do you like the servo motor on yours? I have the same machine with a clutch motor + speed reducer. Thinking about switching it all out.
I like it. My artisan came with a clutch motor and I put a servo on it. No speed reducer though. It made a lot of difference for me.

Man that's a very bad situation. Sorry to hear that.
