Its so sad to see so many Baptist churches doing away with these hymns and books. Thankfully mine still use them))
One of the reasons I left the church I served in for 30 years.
It's not just the Baptist sorry to tell you.
Yes it very much is. Due to19 we have very limited attendance and those of us who attend are not permitted to sing. It takes some of the joy out of the celebration.

play without them, except when I'm alone at my piano. Certainly not in front of anyone. I need more practice, I know. I so enjoy your playing.

I am SO glad you played "Statue of Liberty"! My grandma walked an aisle and got saved after hearing my dad sing that song in a patriotic program! She died when I was 6 months old. I am looking forward to seeing her in Heaven!

Hello Natalie, the sound is definitely brighter with the lid removed but, like you, ascetically I miss it not being there, it will take some getting used to its absence. Heard a lot of new hymns, for me, this week, really great. Rev Bryan East

I grew up Baptist here in Australia and wasnt familiar with any of the tunes until you got to a favourite of mine at 6:31 Hallelujah What A Saviour, love 7:21 Balm in Gilead that followed too. Thank you for these wonderful times Natalie!

I'm guessing (from prolonged exposure to American pastors here in Oz) that our Australian Baptist hymn book is very different to American Baptist hymn books.. My dad used to say the Baptist hymn book was the worst, the Methodist the best.

@@janetkennedy5920 Ode to Joy. It was the last movement of his ninth (and last completed) symphony. Yes, he did start to write a tenth symphony and there have been attempts to complete it.
You playing “The Statue of Liberty” was glorious. I went there last year and she is just something else to see.
